Happy Holidays! unfortunately, that was not my experience today. After arriving at the airport and checking in for my flight, my mother and I attempted to visit the United Club, as I am a United Club member. I do not fly frequently, so I was looking forward to fully experiencing the benefits of my membership during this trip. My mother approached the front desk ahead of me to ask a few basic questions, including whether I was allowed to bring a guest. The male employee assisting her did not mention any restrictions, specific cards, or additional fees. However, moments later, another employee; a woman with short brown hair and glasses abruptly approached and said to my mother, "And what is your business doing here?" This comment was completely uncalled for, inappropriate, and disrespectful. She then stated that one-time passes were not being accepted. I calmly asked what specific type of membership was required to access the lounge so I could confirm what I had in my app. As I was opening the app and thinking out loud, saying, "I'm not sure which one I have... let me check," the same employee responded, "It's $700 a year. I'm pretty sure you would know if you had that already," while giving me an extremely rude and condescending look. Her tone, demeanor, and comments were humiliating. I was made to feel embarrassed and uncomfortable in front of other guests for simply asking a reasonable question about my own membership. This behavior is entirely unacceptable and does not align with the level of professionalism or customer care expected from United Airlines, especially within a space that is meant to provide comfort and hospitality. I understand policies and access rules; what I do not understand is the lack of basic courtesy and respect. This interaction left a lasting negative impression and significantly diminished what should have been a positive travel experience. I hope this matter is taken seriously, and that appropriate steps are taken to ensure no other customer is treated this way. read more

Nice little club. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food and beverages were kept well stocked and a decent quality and selection. There is plenty seating but be forewarned this is a small club. The only negative is that there are no restrooms in the club. The is very inconvenient. read more

Located in Terminal A, this might be the smallest United Club I've been to. It's kept clean and has a well stocked bar plus cold and warm snacks. There was plenty of room when I came with comfortable seating and places to charge your devices. One negative about this place is that there are no restrooms inside this lounge. But they let you go in and out to use the public restrooms. The best thing about this club was the friendly staff that seemed genuinely happy there and kept the place clean and organized. Definitely not a bad place to be as you're waiting for your flight. read more

First time visitor to the Houston Club Lounge and had a good impression during my short stay. It seemed new and modern with a lot of seating. Got there close to opening so it was nice and quiet however by the time I headed to my flight there was a ton of people inside. There were two private rooms but always occupied. I always seem to visit the Clubs during breakfast so the options were limited. Oatmeal, powdered scrambled eggs and bacon plus pastries and breads. The cans of cold brew Illy coffee were quite good. Other than free WiFi, a place to charge your phone, a few mediocre snacks, and a nicer bathroom than the general ones in the Terminal there's not much else here. Yes, you can get inexpensive wine or beer, but "premium" drinks will cost you. Thankfully I am good with coffee or soda. The seats are not very comfortable. Forget about taking a nap. It's too noisy and highly trafficked. There are no more showers. I will remember that coming back from an intercontinental flight! If you need a shower and a place to sleep for a few hours you would do much better booking one of the many hotels nearby (some have shuttles, but taxis and Uber's also abound). If no time for that, you can still clean up a bit using the sink. There's always moist towelettes available for purchase at one of the stores nearby for a laugh bath (ho ho ho!) The coffee is great. The oatmeal is gluey but you can jazz it up with fresh blue, nuts, raisins, etc. The fruit is limited but good. You can sing the Barney (purple dinosaur) song, "I like to eat apples and bananas..." The pastries (pound cake, danish or not-so-fresh croissant) are generic Sam's Club commercial style. The gatekeeper staff, ... pardon me, reception staff, reminiscent of the flaming-sword-bearing cherubim God charged with guarding the tree of life in Eden (Genesis 3:24), are polite and efficient but not particularly friendly. The place is clean and nice, but not as much as they charge for a pass. So next time I'll pass and go to Pappadeaux or some other nicer restaurant and eat better, spend less, and rest just as much. read more

We stopped in here before an early morning flight and found it to be one of the smaller clubs in the IAH airport. While there's still a full bar with the same complimentary beverages that are offered at other United Clubs, breakfast offerings are slim. Cold croissants, a warming pot of oatmeal, some pastries, and sliced fruits that have seen better days are all that's offered by way of eateries. The illy machine was a slight consolation, allowing us to chug our way through several lattes and cappuccinos before the flight. Unfortunately, all those beverages had to go somewhere and there are no bathrooms inside the club. You're allowed to come in and out once you're checked in, but having to leave this airport haven just to use the loo was quite the downside. There are quite a few window seats and a few one-seater sofas throughout the space with ample outlets scattered throughout for your recharging pleasure. If you have the time to spare, I'd suggest heading over to one of the other terminals to enjoy the more spacious lounges. read more

Some day perhaps United will treat Houston as an equal or even better than Chicago. I left this lounge within 15 min of arrival. After touring the room twice I found the last unused seat parked between a couple of people sacking out. That was fortunate, I thought. Its dinner hour and saw a line of people for what looked like food so I wandered over to get a bite. The United Club considers food is some green leaves of a kind in not familiar with, carrots, some sort of cheese and some sort of legumes. There was a pasty clam chowder in an open pot. Why were people lining up for this? AT Chicago the United Club has a Chef whipping up pasta dishes and an assortment of real food. Summary, not comfortable and no food. Move on. read more

This United Club location is a small and cozy club that didn't even have a restroom inside. The front desk personnels were super-nice as I walked in. The crowd was sparse around 5-6 PM at the time that I visited. Surprisingly, the food was decent even though it was probably the same as other clubs at IAH. Still the salad, carrot stick, and soup were on point that day. If all United Clubs were like this, I would spend more time at the airport. read more

It's a big lounge over 2 floors, but the place gets pretty busy and fills up fast. The armchairs are pretty nice, but not really conducive to sleeping, especially if you're stuck there on a loooooooong layover. I did note that some people snagged a cubicle and slept there for some quiet privacy. The food spread is kind of disappointing. They only serve soup (tomato basil one day, Italian wedding the other), and the same assortment of cheese/veggies/salads on both our visits to the lounge. Brownies and cookies also served. Wide assortment of teas, hot chocolate, and both regular or infused water also available. Random plug ins on both sides of the round end tables. Free wifi with a different daily password posted at any of the desks. Shower facilities available. If it's busy, you have to sign yourself up for a time slot though. Very clean for such a busy lounge. read more

This has a nice layout to it and it has free wifi which is awesome along with showers if you have a long layover. The food selection was pretty good and the seats are comfortable worth the $59 extra since I was stuck there for 3hrs waiting. The staff was nice and friendly very helpful and it's nice to hear them announce about certain flights so you are not late. So I had a 3 hour layover........ The story starts with trying to decide whether to sit at a restaurant in the airport and wait...and wait for my flight. Then I came across the United Club. I was traveling with one of my besties for work and we were exhausted from the long week. I went inside and asked if first class to California qualified for the club. Apparently domestic first class is not good enough but nothing to worry about. I enquired about the price and got the look from head to toe and was told the membership was $550 a year. Not sure why I got the look as I think I am dressed up enough (my knee high suede boots are fantastic!) I wanted to mention my electric and gas bill is equivalent to that a month but there was no reason. I told her I would confer with my colleague and be back. We decided to stop in and hang out. I went to the same woman at the front desk and told her we would like 2 day passes. She curtly told me to go upstairs and get the day passes from another person because the line was long and full of other guests. My bad! As they say in California, "whatevs!" We checked in on the second level and were greeted by a lively gentleman that gave us the overview, including the wifi password. We walked around and found it hard to find two seats together. A little bit of table stalking combined with lighthearted chatter got us a table. The drinks were good but the food was a little lacking. The best part about the stay was being In a little oasis with wifi and outlets. I was in between 3 and 4 stars but stuck with 3 based on my front desk experience. I would consider coming back if I have another long layover or if I could one day look like I would be able to afford the membership fee. read more

I've been active duty Air Force for the last 7 years and I've used United before. It wasn't until recently that I found out that active duty military and their family are welcomed at their United Clubs for free! Wow thank you so much United! Just have your military ID, along with your boarding passes to prove that you're flying with united and you can access the Club up to 24 hours before the flight, legit! They also ask for orders but on the United website it states that Leave papers, Rest and Recuperation orders, TDY or PCS orders are fine. Just when you take leave, print out the leave orders and carry them with you. United also lets military check bags for free and it doesnt matter if you're on orders or on leasure travel. I'm liking United very much! I think it's unnecessary to say this but I'll definitely be traveling with United Airlines a lot more now! read more

This is why I love IAH. The chairs are so comfortable that I ended up sleeping for a while. Funny thing is I ended up snoring like a bagpipe and it was crazy because I was the only one in the lounge. Really love to ride business class on United when going to Houston and I must say it was the happiest thing in the airport. I run a startup business project in Houston and if I arrive this is the first thing I look for before getting on to a bus or taxi. They have good food and drinks for people who use first class, business or have high points on their frequent flyer card I presume. I have KrisFlyer for Singapore air and once I use my card to book flights for UA to HTX and once I get off the flight attendant directed me here. They even have family and afterhours services here. This includes a shower and kids play area. Come here if you can, you will love it. read more

This is the better United club option while at IAH. The wifi is strong, decent snacks, showers, and a nice movie room! It is very spacious so you will have a few options to move around. They are generous on power outlets here :) Not too bad. read more

My least favorite United clubs. Very friendly bartenders but Very rude management. They insisted that I move my things off a chair for other passengers to sit when there had to be 20 other chairs open within eyesight. Also alcohol prices were more than other United clubs. Food was mediocre at best and was the same spread all day. Defiantly not worth the money. I'd rather a pay less and be able to put my bags where I'd like and eat better food in the airport lobby. read more

The United Club at IAH Terminal A is a great place to relax and wait for your flight, even if not on United. The Club allows access to United Club Members, regardless of airline flown, Air Canada Club Members, and Star Alliance Gold Members on International Flights. The staff at this United Club is the best in the system in my opinion. This is the only United Club where I have had the staff wait on me and ask if they can get me drinks, no need to make a trip up to the bar. Everyone is very nice and helpful. This Club is the primary reason I have a United Club Membership as I usually fly Delta and it operates out of Terminal A. The only reason I gave this Club 4 stars instead of 5 is it does not have a restroom inside the Club. You have to leave the Club and go into the terminal where the restrooms can get very crowded. read more
