I do appreciate that when I expressed my preferences on the types of cleaning tools to be used, i.e. not the ones that vibrate loudly in your skull, and they were open to accommodating manual tools. With that said however, they didn't clean my teeth much at all during my appointment. Truly just a brush and floss, and while I do enjoy the idea that my teeth are that clean, I'm sure there must have been some plaque to tackle. During my first appointment, I agreed to work with them on a teeth splint, which is similar to an Invisalign retainer, but formed more thick with the mission to relax your jaw muscles overall. This has been a lengthy process, but there is only my jaw to blame for that. I do wish the appointments were more concise because they often run over time, time that I have requested off of work and need to stick to. I think this will improve over time, since this is a new process on their end. But with that said, allot an extra 30 minutes for these appointments. Overall, I can't say for certain whether this has improved my headaches, but I am pleased with the consistent data results that conclude the muscles are indeed relaxing. With all of these positives, there are only a few negatives, but they are impactful to my experience so I will note them: When I first set an appointment for Cedar Creek Dental I noted on their website that they did not accept my insurance. I called to verify, and the first person I spoke to confirmed this was the case and estimated the appointment cost for me. When I arrived for my appointment however, Marianne said this was not the case and that the insurance would be accepted. As expected, once my insurance received the appointment they did not cover any of it. As I said, I expected this, but was disappointed about the misinformation given to me. My second critique is in regards to the unnecessary religious paraphernalia placed around their waiting room. Marianne took it upon herself, with Dr.Alexis' permission, to place little jesus figurines around the waiting room. Religion has no place in a medical facility. Symbolic figures don't mean the same to everyone, they can remind some people of previous harm, pain, and trauma. It is severely unprofessional to have these placed around a space that should be open and accepting to all. Especially considering the current political climate that uses these figures as an excuse to harm and exclude POC, women, and the LGBTQIA+ community. I brought this up to them but as expected, they took their own side, not even for a moment considering other feelings and opinions. That is always how it goes in these situations, of course, I sincerely was not expecting any consideration from them. In fact, Marianne said,"I've only received positive feedback about them", without considering that other people are too uncomfortable to bring it up, knowing they will be dismissed as per my example. Now you have received negative feedback, and you are choosing to ignore it. This nonaction reflects poorly on Cedar Creek Dental. Medical facilities have a responsibility to express consideration for everyone from every background. Otherwise, it proves that their work is affected by their biases, which is dangerous to people who disagree with them or minority groups ousted by their religion, in any capacity. That consideration should extend from the front desk, to the dental chair, which is not the case here, unfortunately.

This was an administrative issue, but how it was handled is where I became frustrated. On March 26th, they said they would bill the correct insurance. I checked my insurance portal to make sure the claim was registered for 3 weeks, and never saw it populate. I reached back out on April 16th to check on the status because I didn't see it on the insurance side at all. In an email correspondence on April 16th, I was told that they billed the correct insurance on March 26th, but that she would resubmit it to make sure. Coincidentally, I finally saw the claim registered on the portal and then received the EOB in the mail on April 29th. I emailed them on the 29th to let them know that I received my copy of the EOB and asked for the timeline and process of getting a refund for the overpayment. I did not hear back. I emailed again on May 5th to follow up -- again, no reply. I called on May 6th, and as told, everything was still pending. I let the lady know that I am showing that payment was issued. She said their insurance person would review and call me back the next day. I waited all day, the next day, and again ... no call back. I called them at 1pm to follow up because I knew they closed soon, and was told the insurance person went to run an errand and would be back within an hour. I waited by the phone for 2 hours until their closing time to receive the phone call, and you guessed it ... no phone call again. It wasn't until I reached out to my dental insurance company to help with my money being held with no response from Tolley. I finally was able to get assistance and speak with a manager. There was little to no accountability, and I was told repeatedly that they ignored my requests for calls/emails because they had no information to share. Communication was the root of this issue and continued to perpetuate it throughout the past month. They continued to stand by their reasoning of not answering my emails/calls. I am disappointed as I changed my insurance specifically to become a patient here, and while the medical team was phenomenal, the front desk team and leadership of the practice is lacking basic customer service skills.

Perhaps personnel changes have made a difference; their facility replaced the former Ruby Tuesday location a few years ago. Unfortunately, my experience has taken a very disappointing turn. I first came in on 5/13 with severe tooth pain. After that visit, I walked away with a $6,000 treatment plan and an appointment scheduled a week out--but no relief. I was told I needed a root canal, two crowns, and a cavity filled. That cavity still isn't filled to this day. When the pain worsened, we reached out for help and heard nothing back. We ended up needing to schedule another appointment just to get something for the pain. Fast forward almost a full month later, and I'm in just as much pain--if not more--than when I first walked through the doors. At this point, I have two temporary crowns--one on each side--and the cavity that should've been addressed immediately has become so painful that even air hitting it is unbearable. Now, the tooth behind the one that had the root canal (but still doesn't have the permanent crown) is throbbing. I understand dental work takes time, but I came here with pain and left with more of it, and with little resolution after weeks of waiting. It's heartbreaking and frustrating to feel like things were not only left incomplete--but possibly made worse. I hope this review prompts a more thorough look at how patients in pain are cared for, because I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. ____________________________________________________________________________________ I recently had my first-ever root canal, and like anyone would be, I was nervous. But Dr. Gaitan and Fatima made all the difference, today. From the very first appointment, Dr. Gaitan has been kind and patient through this process. Each time I've sat in his chair, he's eased my concerns and made me feel confident in the care I was receiving. Over today when I had additional concerns, he sat right through them all with the same kindness. Fatima was a sunny spot in the morning, equally amazing--knowledgeable, professional, and attentive. Today's visit was no exception. They both took the time to go over the procedure as we went through each part of the procedure. The only hiccup I experienced was during a time Dr. Gaitan was on vacation. Unfortunately, dealing with the front desk in his absence was frustrating and lacked the same level of communication and support. That said, when Dr. Gaitan is present, the experience is exceptional. I'm so grateful for the professionalism, compassion, and expertise shown by Dr. Gaitan and Fatima. Highly recommend!

Three of these procedures required prior approval, which I had informed them of at my first appointment. They assured me they would get the prior approvals for all three procedures and it was not a problem. I agreed to have the work done based on their assurance of obtaining the prior approvals that were needed. After each procedure, they showed me what my insurance would pay and what I was responsible for. I found out later that they showed me their full cost for the procedures and not the cost agreed to with my insurance company since they are in network, which makes those costs significantly lower. They then required that I pay the inflated out-of-pocket costs before the insurance payments were made to them. When the insurance claims came back three of the procedures were denied due to not obtaining prior approval. Meanwhile, they had over $2500 of my money which I should not have been required to pay due to their mistake. They have since been filing numerous appeals with my insurance company to no avail. The claims are repeatedly denied yet they continue to file appeals and refuse to refund any of my money. I filed a grievance with my insurance company, which apparently does not do a whole lot of good since even though they denied the claims, they still seem to be on the side of the dental office. They apparently have no authority to require the practice to refund any money. I advise you to avoid this dental office at all costs, since they seem to only care about getting as much money out of a person as they possibly can, then accept no responsibility for their costly mistakes. I have switched dental offices and will never give Winchester Dental Care the opportunity to rip me off again. Don't let them do the same to you!

When I called to make my initial appointment, I said "Do you take United Health Care?" The answer was, "Yes, ma'am, we work with United Health Care." The dentist has the office staff answer a specific way to avoid having to honestly say that they are not contracted with any insurance companies. This is the very definition of deceptive business practices and is totally unethical. What a shame that they are chosing to do business in this fashion.

She had to "ask the office manager" if she could share that information. Surprise, she came back in the phone and said it was a HIPPA violation to disclose that info. A bit hypocritical considering the information patients have to disclose prior to treatment and oh, ya know, we were enduring a global pandemic. Honestly, gross that they would have that attitude about it. Patients need to feel safe especially in an environment that masks cannot be worn while receiving treatment. This in addition to the former employee reviews I read on indeed.com (specifically about the concealed weapon and BLM comments) - I won't be returning.
