After finishing my other tests, I left, went back to my doctor for new paperwork, and scheduled another appointment at Labcorp--only to later see that Quest had already run the bile acid synthesis test and posted the results in my app. This kind of miscommunication is unacceptable and caused unnecessary stress, time, and extra appointments.

So I didn't get seen by a phlebotomist and walked out without patient care. I took my business to West Pac instead, where there was no wait, was seen as soon as I got there, where staff treated me like a patient and were kind, uplifting and compassionate toward patients. While I was there, an elderly patient mentioned that she sometimes faints during blood draws, and the staff took extra care of her. The staff overall was very friendly and efficient. Despite the appointment time, my daughter was seen rather late. Fortunately, the phlebotomist had great bedside manners and was proficient in her work. As a former phlebotomist years ago, I'd say she was excellent. My daughter would beg to differ. This was her first experience getting a blood draw and she's not a fan of needles.

We fasted for 18 hours (instead of the normal 8-10 hour window) just to make sure everything worked out. We even arrived a little after 1000am, hoping we could be seen earlier. But the staff said we would be considered "walk-ins" with a long wait time (if possibly seen), so we kept our appointments. We opted for text messages to keep us updated on our scheduled appointment, and were able to run a few errands. We arrived back around 1115am and waited for our appointment in the lobby. But I finally RECEIVED the text message update stating I "will be called soon" at 119PM, and we were finally seen around 125PM!! Then what is the point in having a *&@$ appointment? And during the wait, I heard the staff saying to other customers in the lobby that if they were even 5 minutes late, they would be cancelled and have to reschedule! I asked the technician about the rescheduling comment (of course after she finished with the needle poking me!) and she said that it was company policy. I feel sorry for those people who were trying to complete their appointment during a lunch break! Good luck! I hope this late experience is a one-off at this location, but doubt it, and will never go back there again. I will take my chances at the Medical Center location next time.
