I told the dispatcher that I needed to get my car to the tire shop ASAP before they closed. Dispatcher said it wasn't a problem, took my credit card information and then REFUSED TO SEND A TOW TRUCK. His reason was that I hadn't canceled my insurance tow yet. I told him that I tried calling them but they weren't answering so I would have to keep trying to reach them in the mean time. He still refused saying he was going to "pass" because he wasn't going to "race" another tow truck there. What kind of shady business are they running here?! Why would they collect my card information only to refuse me service with some BS excuse like that? After reading all of these reviews about how the employees have been accused of stealing, I'm now concerned what they will do with the card information that I gave them. Well if any fraudulent purchases come up on my account, I guess I'll know who it was!

We went in and sat with Gordon to sign all of the paperwork, after taking the car for a test drive. The entire transition went smoothly, especially communications before our signing appointment! We also traded in my 2023 Chevy Equinox and we were pleasantly surprised about the trade-in value we got for my old vehicle! Because my new vehicle came from another state, it did not have a front license plate holder. Carmax contacted me to let me know when the part came in, and scheduled an appointment for me to have it installed. The Service Department put on the plate holder, and put my license plate on for me. They also wiped down the exterior of my car, and filled up my gas tank! While I was waiting for my car, I was in the lobby of the sales center. I was there when a majority of the staff were arriving to start their day, and the floor supervisor (I wish I would have gotten her name!) held a team meeting prior to the start of the day. OH MY GOODNESS....never have I heard such a positive, uplifting, supportive supervisor, than this person! She opened the meeting with kudos to her staff, congratulations to the team for other victories and goals, and then had each department provide an update if needed. I made a point to go up to the superivsor after the meeting adjourned, to let her know I was super impressed with her team leadership. When we showed up at the arranged time for us to pick up the vehicles, no one was there. When we called Ali, the owner, he was irate and said he was on his way to the yard "to shoot us". When he finally got there he was screaming and getting into my husband's face with a bunch of threats. We ended up paying for the tow "service" so that we could get the vehicles back. The fact is they NEVER should have been towed in the first place. He literally STOLE the cars. And then threatened VIOLENCE when we went to retrieve them. It was very early and I had a business appointment coming up, so my choices were limited. I spoke to an unfriendly dispatcher or receptionist and was quoted 1 hour and $140. I felt $140 was a bit steep but I haven't needed a tow in a while and didn't have time to shop around. After an hour and 10 minutes I called back to see where the truck was. I was told it should be about 20 minutes more. When they finally got my car to the shop, they tried to upcharge me $10 for using a debit card. The same card they asked for over the phone when they gave me the quote. When I objected, the driver said they always charge $10 extra for cards. I pointed out this charge was never disclosed and it's illegal to charge someone a fee after the fact if it wasn't disclosed. The driver said it wasn't his problem so I called the company back and the guy that answered also insisted they were going to charge me the $10. He was rude and tried to talk over me. I told them that if the charge on my card is over $140, I will dispute it through my card company, and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I just looked at my account, and sure enough, they overcharged me.

He not only did the heavy lifting expected with a tow, but also did the time consuming and frustrating task of working with the rental company to secure our transport where we got the replacement when the rental agency only offered a $10 Uber credit - to an area where no Ubers exist essentially not caring if we were stranded or not. Sam intervened and personally drove us the hour+ trip to where we needed to go in his own vehicle the next day. We cannot sing his praises highly enough - personal care that was a blessing if not a miracle these days.
