Very disappointing experience. It is nearly impossible to reach anyone by phone--after calling about 20 times, no one answered. When I finally did get through, I calmly explained my concern about a missing package. Instead of helping, the employee hung up on me. This is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable, especially from a location with government-backed jobs where customer service should be a priority. If I could give this post office a -10 review, it would be accurate. This is the fourth time I put a hold on my mail. It was to last from 1/15/2025 and be delivered to my home on 2/6/2025. As of 2/10/2025, I have still not received it. I did put in a complaint with the USPS on 2/7/2025 and received an email on 2/8/2025 stating they have received my inquiry and would be in touch. It was signed by Shakyila with the phone number of 815-773-1061. I have called it several times this morning but it rings around 10 times then hangs up. I would go there to pick up my mail and may have to do this later today (there are tax documents and even a certified letter) but I do have pneumonia and a low grade fever so my energy level is not good and I'm told I'm contagious with a fever. Maybe I can get them sick and then they WILL have excuse to not do their jobs. The first time I had put it on hold which was about 2 yrs ago they didn't deliver the mail so I put a post it note in the box. They didn't deliver again. Put another note in the box and they didn't deliver again. Both times the notes were gone. Went over to the post office and finally picked up my mail. The second and third time they never picked it up and held it. Went to the post office and asked them if I had done something wrong and one employee said to go to this site and file a complaint which I did. The response was the postal person did not receive the hold. Sounded pretty unrealistic since the hold mail card was put into the mailbox. One of their employees had to have picked it up because they were both gone. This last time I went to the Joliet post office on McDonough Street, physically handed that to their employee, asked if they handle Crest Hill And they responded Yes. I also filled out another card, took a picture of it and put it into my mail box. The rest is written above. read more

She's a customer service rep that calls you back when u request a call back from holding too long ..Not local..I can't make this up soon as I got off the phone maybe 5 minutes later I got a return call from the Joliet station which is where my package was last tracked from the Supervisor/Manager Miss Tanesha. So pleasant over the phone and sounded very eager to assist me. When I tell you she lifted my spirits. I nearly had a panic attack with how fast she called back there was no time..lolbvs. I can't explain what a blessing it is to have such kind hearted genuine people that care about customer service still around.She helped to resolve my issue faster than her call back. I just want to say thank you for having such a great team. I'm at work now and I didn't spend much time getting my personal issue resolved. This was truly a blessing I prayed to God about this and boy does he move fast. I'm so glade you guys hired the right kind of people for the public. Words can't explain how happy I am for Miss Tanesha saving the day. It's the Holidays as of now 2 days away from Xmas and mostly all people have been calling off work from there jobs Bc were now in a bad snow storm and the weather is -1 and she still was able to make it in to work (Passionate about her job) and I must say she is my Angel. This time I was in & out in 10 minutes because there were more employees working. The worker who assisted me was polite and prompt and I only had to wait a few minutes in line before being helped. As I was leaving, the line was becoming much longer as an employee had closed her "window." I didn't receive mail for a week and the substitute delivery man didn't even come to the house to pick up outgoing mail clearly visible from the street. Called to talk with the supervisor, no response to my voicemail. Went into this location to discuss with a supervisor, left information for a call back, nothing yet. Today my regular mailman asks me why I'm not getting any mail and hands me a package with a large boot print on it smashing it. I assume that's the USPS way of handling complaints, throw away your mail and damage your packages. Typical government agency performance. You'd never keep your jobs in the private sector. read more

I sent five envelopes Priority 2-Day at around $7 each. None of them arrived on time (one took 8 days). When I inquired about a refund, I was told there is no guarantee of 2 day delivery. We have been doing prepaid shipping for years now and never had to wait in line. Until just recently. Now we are told that we can not drop off our packages in front if they are too big or won't fit into the bins because they are full because they are too lazy to empty them. Window hours are 8am-2pm on saturdays. Someone is at the window "helping" a customer (mostly arguing and asking what the customer expects the post office to do- bad attitude from the worker!) when i arrive at 10am. I wait behind this other customer for almost 30 min, postal worker sees and makes eye contact with me, then other customer leaves. Postal worker starts to shut window door when i state that i need to pick up mail. She says window isnt open. (??) and slams the door shut in my face.
