I have made many a trip to this particular post office, and I have never been disappointed. Not only do they not have lines very often, but when they do, the lines move quite quickly. They also have one of the automated machines, which personally I prefer anyway, and there is never a line for that. On one occasion I happened into this post office with my sister who needed to ship some books to her friend in Europe. Neither of us were sure which was the best way to ship her books so we went to the post office, filled out an international mail form and waited for the clerk to help us. Not only was the clerk helpful, but he provided a new box for her books to keep the shipping rate down (which I'm told their technically not supposed to do), and they told her to buy a different stamp than the one we were originally going to purchase because it would save her money over all. They even helped us repackage her books! I've shipped out of this post office on multiple occasions because the USPS is the cheapest way to ship, and I've never had a problem. All of my packages have gotten where they needed to go not only on time, but usually earlier than expected without having to spend anymore money! On another note, one can also purchase shipping materials here, by all sorts of cool stamps, apply for a US passport, and do all sorts of other useful things I can't even think of. I like this post office. Plenty of parking and a very open parking lot. Most USPS lots are cramped and leave you with door dings and impatient Parker's. Inside they have a separate self serve area, which I like when I just need stamps. At 9am, they had two windows open, even though there weren't any customers. I like that as it breaks the stigma of 'standing in line' at the post office. The postal worker that helped me was really nice. Took about 2 minutes to purchase my money order. The parking lot has 2 exits, so you don't get stuck having to do a U-turn when leaving. read more

I have lived in Naperville at my present single family home for 31 years. My mail routinely gets delivered after 5 pm every day, it is rare that it ever gets there earlier..today 1/2/2021 it's nearly 6 pm, and the mail today has not as yet been delivered. When the mail is delivered after the close of Business, basically 5 pm, that means it's next days mail...so I am getting mailed delivered 5 days instead of 6, and I find that unacceptable. read more

Why are postal workers always so rude. I arrive at this post office to drop off about 20 packages to be scanned in. I wait patiently in line for 10 minutes and the first thing the agent asked me is if I have a scan sheet. I told him no I dont use the scan sheet. The reason being is that first and last time I used a scan sheet it took 4 days before tracking information was available in the system. Maybe this was a glitch... I dont know. But the package recipients were not happy that they could not track their packages. After telling him that I dont have a scan sheets he directs me over to the self service kiosks and says I can scan them in myself. I DONT WORK HERE!!! If I wanted to scan them myself then I would have applied for a job as a postal worker. Everyone does not want to use self service machines. I dont want to scan my own groceries or my own packages. I work in insurance when people call me I dont tell them to process their own claims. DO YOUR D@MN JOB!! I am sick of lazy people. What happened to service with a smile? As of March, 2014, when you call their regular number during business hours, you now get a message that says "the administrative office is now closed". It then tells you the hours they are open which include the time I called. I called several times around 11am on a weekday and got this message each time. This is another one of those post offices that doesn't answer the phone. If you call, it will say press "0" for the attendant and no one will answer. read more

HOLY HELL do I flipping hate this place.. Every time I get that dreaded yellow slip to go pick up a package I immediately know I'm in for some BS. Idk what it is about people that work in this post office but everyone there is seriously so rude and pissed off all the time. Settle down buddy, I didn't pick your job! The amount of incompetence here is mind boggling. It just baffles me their tremendous amount of customer service. I've never walked away from the place in a good mood. My most recent encounter with these Just "awesome" humans was so frustrating first off idk why they just pick and choose when they will leave a package by my door, they straight up don't even try anymore and just write up the slip, stop being lazy I'm home and straight up saw you not even try to come to my door, so annoying. So when I get there to pick it up this like 16 year old girl takes my slip and goes to go look for it, not even kidding it took her around 45 mins to tell me she doesn't know where it is and took down my info and said she would tell her supervisor. 2 days later and I hear nothing from these people so I call. First I straight up got hung up on like they picked up the phone and then just hung it up. True story. Round of applause. Then I call back and she cuts me off as I'm talking, girl your lucky my ass wasn't in front of you I swear... Then just gets my address not even a tracking number and tells me to "hang on a second" and I was on hold for 50 damn minutes before another woman answer the phone not realizing someone was on hold and asks me if I've been helped I'm like yep! About 50 mins ago, I guess someone decided to go to lunch.. She's like oh my ok I'm sorry just hold please. Great more holding then a seriously rude guy answers the phone and seemed like I was inconveniencing him, like dude this is ur damn job in case you forgot. All he did was get my tracking number and 5 mins later is like "ya I got it, u coming to get it" I'm like OMFG u kidding me ya whatever. Seriously don't ever let anything get transferred to your post office. I'd rather go to the DMV! At least they are not ignorant. Thanks for nothing! Oh and thanks for stealing a gift card in my mail! horrible customer service - for over a year, my postman has consistently screwed up my mail delivery by not delivering my mail, returning any packages i am supposed to receive back to sender and never leaving a note (his excuse is always that my name isn't on the door when in fact it clearly is and you'd think he'd notice that after a year of it being pointed out to him...) anyway, since i have these issues, i frequently have to get in touch with this post office to have things tracked down and redelivered. having to get in touch with this location regarding my mail delivery has been an even larger pain. no one answers the phones, and on the rare occasion someone does answer the phone, no one can help reschedule a delivery. the only glimmer of hope is a woman named kim (i think?) who was genuinely nice and helpful. she totally understood my recent frustration when i saw the mailman with my package and saw him leaving my building without delivering it. she fixed the problem asap. if only there were more kims... read more

I wouldn't even give them 1 star if I didn't have to! Wasted my entire lunch hour there and they wouldn't even take my package! Wanted me to buy an address label and get out of line to complete it then get back in line (there were at least 20-25 people in line at that point)! Employees don't care how long the line is and just take their time and wander around prolonging taking the next customer. I went to UPS and saved $14 shipping my package. Go to the other Naperville locations such as Book Rd or Washington St You'll get much better service and a much more pleasant demeanor from employees at the other Naperville locations. I have never had to deal with a slower post office. Honestly. There is zero sense of urgency here. I cannot begin to explain the frustration that comes with doing business with this place. The people are nice enough but please stop the small talk while you have a line out the door. Budget at least thirty minutes into your day even if you are doing something as simple as picking up stamps. So completely frustrated! This post office is really hit or miss. I can either get in and out really quick or there is a huge line because this seems to be the only post office in Naperville. Today was by far the most annoying because neither the kiosks or the registers could take credit or debit cards. Oh, and the entrance was closed and we had to walk to the end of the building. What. Argh, coming here is like self-inflicted torture. Always a ridiculously long wait. The last two times, there has been a male clerk Matthew (possibly India or Pakistan) and he is super great, works at a good pace and keeps the line moving. So how can it still be so slow? My repeated observation: too many oblivious jerks that step up to the counter unprepared and they hold up the line. (If you are a foreigner or tourist, then you are excused from this rant because maybe you are not aware of the USPS process). But for those of you that were born and raised in the USA, seriosuly how does it elude you that you MUST ADDRESS and SEAL your envelope/package before mailing it? Don't walk up to the clerk and take 10 minutes to look up an address on your cell phone, write the address on the envelope and seal it with 4 pieces of tape in slow motion--that's rude. Fine services... as long as you don't have an issue whereas it is their fault... because if an issue occurs with your package, they will at all cost deflect accountability... In short, you will not be reimbursed even if they error. A few of the workers have questionable character. Also, if you happen to visit often, they tend to get very noisy... they want to know what you're shipping, what kind of work do you do. What is your blood type, your mother maiden name, urine sample... etc!!! Get where I'm going? Should be zero stars. USPS had a package of mine that required a signature. They brought it to my house, did not ring the doorbell to get a signature, left a pink slip that said your package is at this location. I went to the actual store to pick it up and they said the courier had not returned from his route. I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor came over and I explained to her why I was upset. She understood and calmly said, if you don't want to come up here and have your package not be here you should have called. I asked if they could redeliver the package the next day, she said sure no problem. Of course the package was not delivered. Per her suggestion I called the store to see if my package was there. I processed to be on hold for 33 mins. They could not find my package! Incompetent post office, avoid at all cost. read more

I come here all the time and it's generally been pretty good and staff has been helpful. However, recently, they have been very unprofessional and rude about my task-trained Service Animal. He's very clearly marked, like I seriously could not put more stop signs or patches on this dog, but I still get rudely asked every time I come in "is *that* a service dog?". It's fine and totally legal that they ask it's just HOW they ask and the fact that they ask EVERY time I come in even though I'm there every few days. Please read my dog's patches that say both that he's a service dog AND what task he provides (Medical alert). They are there so you can read them and not have to ask me questions about him. For some reason we feel invalid every time we come in. On top of this, when we went yesterday, we had a very rude encounter with the man mailing our packages about the training collar I had on my dog. "Isn't the point that they're suppose to be TRAINED enough not to need that stuff" "what does he DO anyway". Please, take note, read my dogs patches and IGNORE him. He's there to work and I don't appreciate all the rudeness and negative comments. I'm sorry I have to have my trained Service Animal with me and that you're not trained enough on how to act around them. read more

Sure I already love the city of Naperville but people do not know that the city also boasts one of the most friendly post offices in the US! This is no easy feat as there are quite bad post offices out there (read my review of one in downtown Chicago). This post office has very friendly staff and is in a large, clean facility. I like that this branch opens till 7 PM in the evening so very convenient for working professionals. On holidays it closes a bit earlier at 5 PM. read more

I just wanted to say, for this facility being available for extra hours and there for the community to use-you would think their customer service would be above and beyond-but instead it is below expectations. They are all very grouchy and do not seem to enjoy being there. Snippy, snappy, and uncongenial. I've asked to buy packing tape there more than several times and this one African-American lady is especially a pro. She snaps "We don't sell it!" as a co-worker hands me a packing tape from behind the counter to buy. This same lady had a fit that I came in to mail my kids packages for Christmas. Yelling out to me very rudely! I was packaging them up because we were unable to be together for the holiday because of the pandemic. I also asked for certain priority mail boxes and she'd yell out, "We don't have that kind!" like she was upset that I got my kids things for Christmas! I feel she was taking it personally that I bought my kids things and maybe that wasn't the case in her family. She was projecting her personal pain to the customers. It makes you not even want to go in there! And this is Not a 1-event happening! A stressful situation made 10 times worse. read more

When I have had questions, the people here are more than happy to answer them for me and help me figure out the cheapest way to ship internationally (which is hard to figure out just on my own). I do really like most of the staff here. However, it's incredibly apparent that they are overworked and underpaid. The building is old and it looks it. The passport lines are always ungodly long every weekend because they only have one person staffing it. They have recently reduced the lines to have automated machines instead so during peak hours, there will be a considerable wait. And don't even bother calling them, they will never, ever, ever pick up. The staff that aren't nice are incredibly grumpy and make you feel like you're intruding on their time. I'm sure it's a problem of the USPS as a whole, but... answer your phones! Attempt to be cheery! Mitigate lines! I've always had a good experience here, and I go at least twice a week (eBay seller). I don't know if the past reviews caused them to review their customer service standards, but I have never experienced any of the nasty things that other people have said. The line is typically short and they always have enough people working to keep it moving. They are friendly and helpful when you have questions, and they never make me feel like a nuisance, even when I come in with 10 packages at a time. Once in awhile they can be grumpy, but so can I, so who am I to judge? :) And that being said, they are never grumpy at me, they just aren't feeling it in the moment. It is almost almost a catch 22 situation at the Naperville Post Office. No one answers the phone, or when by chance someone does, they indicate that they will have the Route Supervisor call back, which never happens. Try calling the Post Master. No one answers the phone. I have a serious problem with some of my mail being misdirected to my winter address in Florida. Had to have my new Visa card canceled because it did not arrive at my Naperville address. Two Visa Cards were sent, but they are floating in Post Office Space. Finally the Visa Company shipped a new card by UPS, which arrived next day. The sad thing is there is no one to contact, other than the Naperville Post Office, to resolve my situation, or if there is, they keep the information to there self... Incompetence at is finest, if Naperville is one of the circles of hell then this post office is the epicenter. Seriously, this place is where all hope goes to die. Maybe it was my own naivety that lead to my disappointment, but I was expecting to mail a package no stress. HA. What a laughable, ornery fool I am, or at least was. NEVER AGAIN. I stood in the sweltering makeshift waiting area for what seemed like hours, waiting for action. Unfortunately this is what I got, but in the most hellish form. It seems that so often when there is a substitute carrier...our outgoing mail isn't picked up (we place an outgoing mail note on front of box every time). Also....sometimes the rack of apartment boxes is not locked after mail delivered...these both happened again today. We love our postman but these other services are lacking. read more

I stood in line so long, I was able to download this app and write a review. 2 people working the counter and its December 5th. 1 worker tired up entire time dealing with 1 person for a passport. 12 people in line and the 1 remaining worker would rather talk with people than help them. This is what happens when an institution is forced to quota hire instead of hiring the best and most qualified. I would love for this government institution to fail and just be shut down. This review is about the branch on Washington, which doesn't have a Yelp spot. I will never, ever understand some things. One thing I will never understand is moving exceptionally slow when there is a huge line of people waiting for your services. The Naperville Post Office seems to have mastered this art. I came in and took my number and I had about ten ahead of me. There were 3 people working and one of the women would slllloooowly help someone, and then disappear into the back for like 30 seconds. After every time she helped someone. And neither of the other 2 employees did this. So weird. I don't know, any job I have had, when we are busy, I HUSTLE. And my work ethic isn't even that great! I feel like jobs are kind of hard to come by, so why do they pay these people who don't have even a slight sense of urgency? It's quite frustrating. All three of them were taking their sweetass time. They would strike up conversations with the customers. That's fine if it's the only customer in there but when you have a massive pack of people, with their kids and babies and packages, shouldn't you be trying to expedite the process? My first experience with a rude staff member here. I very politely asked for help, but was met with a very condescending tone and mean, forced answers. She talked down to me and treated me like I didn't deserve help. I didn't know she was with another customer, nor did I demand her assistance. I would've patiently waited for her or someone else to help me, if she had offered. No, this staff person was beyond rude. She cancelled out any positive experiences I had here in the past, sadly. I absolutely hate this place! Every time I go into here, it is an ordeal. Quite honestly, I would rather be at the DVM. The lines are always long no matter what time you're there. I've went early, midday and night and guess what? It's always 20 minutes. Some of the cashiers will even walk away from the counter or talk to their coworkers before helping you. I've also had problems picking up packages as well . First of all, even if there's a line of people, the pick up window clerk can only handle one card at a time instead of trying to find 2 or 3 people's stuff. I was nearly in riot one day because people behind me where getting restless. My favorite incident was when I took my little delivery notification card to the window and the lady went back to retrieve my package. 25 minutes later, she comes back and tells me she couldn't find it. I'll admit it, I kinda got pissed. She walks back, comes out not more than a minute later and tells me, "It was in a pile I didn't check." Even the automatic machines screw you. I send a lot of textbooks out, so I use media mail. This machine always defaults to 2 day priority (at a much higher rate) and won't let you change it so you are forced to go to the window. Sometimes I don't think Kafka could even write something as ridiculous or nightmarish as this place. read more

This post office is by far one of the worst in the Chicagoland area. There is always a line, and a long one no matter what time you go. And the staff is crabby, extra special crabby. So glad we moved to Lisle where the difference in staff is amazing. Avoid this one at all costs. read more
