Average USPS office. Staff is friendly but service is slow here. I had to leave on a Friday afternoon because the line was too long. Came back Monday morning to mail my packages. On Monday, it took less than 5 minutes for all my packages to be shipped out. So it just depends what time of day you go. It's definitely more hidden as well. A very important package was delivered to my house...person rang the bell & left 5 seconds later. By the time I came down stairs immediately afterwards...they were in car leaving...left notice. I went online & requested delivery for the next day & received confirmation of this. I waited all day, even left a note stating I'm home, ring bell & I'll be there in a few seconds.... At 4:00, receive an email that my package is at local post office ready for pickup. That's great but it's been closed since 1:00 & closed on Sundays...leaving for out of town Monday morning...& need package enclosures... I'd much rather pay more for Fed Ex or UPS & know I'll receive my package. Why MVA uses USPS, god only knows! I'm so in favor of privatizing this company..... read more

The employees can't control the long line of customers, yet they can control their customer service & all was fine with me. Ms. Gloria was pleasant as she slightly dripped with perspiration amongst the hot & muggy station. She was even more helpful with the various stamps they offer. It must be years since I've purchased stamps as I recall the small rolls that fits in the plastic dispenser...now its sheets on sheets of anything floral, balloons to celebrity faces. Make sure to have your ID on you when picking up packages, there are no exceptions. This location is absolutely dilapidated needing a facelift & more employees. read more

The person was so rude! She said her name was Brittany, but I am not sure if this is true. Young woman African American with tattoos on her face and really long nails. She refused to give me her supervisor information, had an attitude, told me several time that she doesn't care when I was asking her to provide me with her supervisor information. People like her should never be placed to work with other people. This is a face of USPS. She Got really pissed when I asked her about lunch hours. Apparently they have lunch hours. I came to location at 1 pm, there was a hand written sign on the door that they are closed for lunch 1pm to 2 pm. And the door was closed. I came around 3 the same day and asked her the question about lunch break, if this is across all usps locations. She said that they were open today. I asked her a reasonable question, if you were open, why the door was closed and there was a sign closed? She got so pissed! I needed to make a bunch of money orders, but I didn't feel safe to give her my social security number, after she was so rude, disrespectful, loud and nasty. This is the closest post office to my work but I would have to go to another one because I simply don't feel safe to enter that facility again. Please do something about that! Just about every post office I know is busy and cluttered because they are processing everybody's bits of communication and more. But not every post office has staff that patiently tend to the customers in a kind way. I was blessed with professional help today, during a challenging time of trying to replace a loss passport. The lines are horrible here which is really interesting considering there's another post office down the street off Veirs Mill which is my recommendation. Overall the parking lot is kind of a mess. I always come here when it's raining and have to park in the back. It's not ideal but it is what it is. Staff were friendly and while it took a long time for it to be my turn they couldn't control it. I will say that regardless of when you come there's a line. Be prepared to wait and don't be that person stopping by on their lunch break with 3 minutes to spare. Inside you'll find the normal priority boxes, some greeting cards, a couple other packaging tools and stamps. Because it's not a large post office there aren't a lot of options so come prepared with your box ready to be mailed. If I needed to come back I would but I actually drive slightly out of the way to the other post office that seems to move faster. read more

Our local post office in Clear Spring Maryland 21722 is a nightmare. They are lazy, arrogant and the two full-time women that are always there have the worst attitude. They do not deliver mail inside the town proper but will deliver to the outside the town limits. Which forces everyone to use a PO Box of which they don't have enough of. With the amount of elderly who live here it's a huge inconvenience. But yet I see Mail trucks flying down my street daily not abiding by the 25 mph speed limit. They literally in the multiple times I have been in to drop off packages for my customers find some type of problem forcing me to not get the service I need. The absolute worst PO ever. I firmly believe that if you don't like your job and find it hard to be pleasant, then maybe you should consider a different industry. The few times I've been to this location the sales associate is dry and seems bothered by her chosen profession and I don't mind reciprocating that energy back. What's even more disturbing is that as she prints your receipt, she ask for you to complete the customer service survey using the receipt. What's the reason at this point? The Supervisor Ms. Tammy was very rude and nonchalant. I thought getting my stuff done here would heighten my chances on having great customer service but boyyy was i wrong. I live in the hood so I typically try to drive a further distance to receive better service. Imagine my surprise when I encountered Ms.Tammy the Supervisor acting as if she should have been working in the hood instead of a nice suburban area like Rockville MD. The perfect example of a Bitter Black Woman! It's hard enough for us. But she makes it so easy to be judged. The first associate Ask me to stand to the side for Miss Tammy. When Miss Tammy came forward I stated hey how are you doing she immediately replied please step to the side I'll take care of you when I'm ready. No hello ma'am or any home training. Then when she called me forward she nastily told me i could not pay with my credit card for my passport. There's a right way to say things and a wrong way. Every direction, Ms. Tammy the supervisor took the wrong way. I will never come back to this location again. read more

I don't know why this place has so many bad reviews. every time I go here I have a good experience. the workers are pleasant and knowledgeable. yes there is a line, but it moves along quickly and smoothly. if you're impatient, then come back when it's less busy. the staff is competent and will give you helpful advice and information about the best way to deliver your packages and will suggest additional services as needed. if you treat hard working people with respect and they will do the same to you. read more

This is a tiny little Post Office in the heart of Rockville but it does service a whole lot of customers. The lobby area is tiny and the line quickly extends outside in the PO Box space and even outside the building. But the folks working here are efficient (if not necessarily quick). I have been here a couple of times right at 9 AM and they only have one person working the line, which makes the wait time even longer. But what can you do, it is a department of the Federal Government and high customer service is not their forte :) read more

The workers here are so rude they don't know how to talk to customers, they ALWAYS catch an attitude for no reason it makes you feel on edge. They really make you feel like they hate you. Very long line. Had 2 letters. One needed to be weighed, but the other was going to Europe, so just needed to know how much postage would be. When it finally was my turn, the clerk weighed the letter, but as I was asking about the other letter, he took the next person in line, so I had to go to the end of the line. I had trouble communicating with him, because he had a very thick accent. I went back in line and another postal employee came over to a pretty young woman behind me who just arrived and took her packages. I asked why he was giving preference to someone who was behind everyone else in line, and he snapped: do you have a fixed rate mailing? Well, yes, I did. All I needed to be told was the postage to France, but he did not ask me or many of the other patrons in front of the pretty young woman. He was so hostile, I did not want to argue with him. I just left this Post Office and there was some type of issue with me getting a receipt. I don't understand why if I am shipping with a prepaid label, I can't get a scan with a receipt that would provide me with proof of mailing Like they do at EVERY other Post Office and EVERY other contract postal unit I've EVER been to. The gentleman at the desk, SCOTT, and a woman whose name I did not get as her name tag was concealed/not visible/absent, insisted that this is the way it is and I cannot get a receipt but I'll get an email. An email from who????????? Scott said I will get an email from whoever I have my shipping set up through. I have an e-commerce business and I've NEVER gotten such an email from ANY company from whom I buy postage. He advised me to take a photo of the shipping label. This was a ridiculous suggestion as this still does not provide PROOF of MAILING. I said that I preferred instead to take a photo of him scanning the package but he refused. Fine. I ended up leaving the Post Office without shipping my package and without a receipt. It makes NO SENSE that they cannot provide a receipt for PROOF of SHIPMENT on a PREPAID LABEL. They Do NOT take photos for passports so even if you make an apt for photos for your passport they do not have this service which was a huge inconvenience when we showed up for our apt. This seems like an easy fix on their website so that people aren't thrown off? Can this be fixed so people aren't set back another two weeks? read more

I received a notification stating my package was delivered -- I never received it. They were required to bring it to my leasing management office if I wasn't home. I called customer service and the lady insisted it was my fault and that I should have been home? lol hilarious huh? I was enraged and and called bullshi* and she hung up on me after stating that I was being aggressive with profanity. I called again but this time the guy was puzzled why the previous idiot said the things she had said. I filed a claim and we both laughed about it. I then contacted the original sender and they gladly sent a replacement but this time I'm requiring a signature. USPS hires contractors and sometimes more often then not they won't care to follow arrangements made by leasing office or whomever.. Eff those cats. OK, I have to say, this is a pretty amazing USPS! It's the only post office that I've ever encountered where ALL of the service bays are open when it's busy! WOW! The person that helped me even greeted me and helped me go through my options to ship my international packages. NICE. Always a friendly post office. Never had any problems here. The key is to be polite with the employees. follow the Golden Rule, if you are respectful and polite, they will return the favor. They are only humans after all. Also recommend that people go when it is less crowded and stressful . Admittedly this is hard to predict. Also the more preparation you have ahead of time, is better . If you haven't brought adequate packing supplies , don't expect to get free stuff just because you weren't prepared. Again, if you go in with a positive attitude, you will have a positive experience at this Post Office. If your personality and disposition is naturally hostile and confrontational, then you can expect to encounter conflict. read more

1:30 on a Friday afternoon and there are customers lined up out the door with just one employee on duty at the counter, and she is doing a passport application for the last 20 minutes. Finally at 1:50 another worker comes strolling in to help. I hand her my pre-paid package and ask for the receipt. She gives a BS story that they stopped giving receipts for pre-paid packages for a month now. I guess she was too tired to take 5 seconds to scan and print a receipt after her 2 hour lunch. The best post office in Montgomery county. Although it's always busy (that means others like how competent the staff is) the staff is always helpful and quick. They keep the lone moving. I took his location and staff for granted thinking all post offices should be run this way but I was so wrong when I stopped by the Germantown (wisteria drive) branch. That location is the worst and the manager (big Hodor looking mug) is a complete ass. I would rather drive an extra half hour to ship then go back to Germantown. I had a terrible experience here. I sent an international parcel a week ago with 3-5 business days express but it wasn't arrived after a week. I tracked the parcel with track number on the receipt and it is still in transit. I visited the post office to ask about it, it turned out they sent my parcel with regular mail. But then i had a question, how come i paid 43.90$ which was the flat rate for 3-5 business days express?? I asked about this to the lady and the gentleman working there. The gentleman was actually the one who sent the parcel last week for me, nobody clearly explained what happened. They are so passive aggressive that they don't listen to my questions and said what they wanted. It is ok for me if they admit their mistakes and find the way how i can wait the parcel or claim. Unfortunately nobody on this post office want to do that. They only want to hide their mistakes... This is why people use UPS or Fedex for quick international delivery even though they cost more money. We cannot trust Post office at all...what a shame. read more

Terrible experience. I had a problem with my mail carrier being unprofessional and returning my mail to sender without written permission or forwarding service. It felt like she took matters into her own hands based on how she 'felt' or 'thought' about me. When I went to file a report at the Rollins Ave office I was met with an extension of that unprofessionalism and rudeness by the female manager. First the post office was crowded, stuffy and unpleasantly smelling to the point that I had to step outside to wait my turn in the line due to sneezing and watery eyes taking place. When I finally got up front, by then two men had taken the vocal reign to voice their frustration with the service there. They were open, pissed and did not conceal it. During my attempt to explain to the manager my issue, she responded with impatience and defensiveness before I could finish explaining my issue. She told me to wait, I waited for about 15 minutes at the desk where apparently she went to speak to the mail carrier. She returned asking me to step into the hallway where she continued her spew of defense. Her body language was tense, facial expression unpleasant as she continued to assume resistance to hearing me. She took on the tone of a tired and unhappy frustrated solo mother talking down at her daughter. In a fury her dark mood, she abruptly walked away. I quickly asked her for her name, as I opened the door to the back. She disappeared while another employee came and closed the door in my face. Very unhappy and dissatisfied staff thus creating such customer service. read more

America, when you've been in a good post office you remember it because a bad post office does things to your frustration level that makes you think back to good place like missing a long lost childhood friend. I have been mistreated here and have seen other people mistreated here. I'm going to spend half a second seeing it from the perspective of the staff and think all the problems boils down to this crew of staffers just being jaded towards the public or tired of their jobs. Look, if I'm next in line and I can spot one of the 'usual suspects' as the open servicer, my tactic is I bend down to start tying my shoes to let someone else pass me knowing full well I wear zip up boots! Yes I'm that serious about avoiding the drama. Question my judgement? Look I have enough hit moments to fill up one of those PBS specials like I'm selling Barbara Streisand concert hits on DVD! Figure this classic, the short Asian lady with glasses speaks waaay too loud and when she makes a mistake does not admit to it or apologize. One of my "favorites" is when I was paying for something on a debit card with a $250 cost that she entered as $2500! When it declined she looked at me and yelled 'Your card declined! See!..." and then swiveled the entire screen around to show the whole waiting room a big red error message. I knew she was wrong, possibly a tad racist, but she caused such a scene I walked off because my XMEN power of mentally crushing a human being with my eyes was on the frtiz. On the spot, I called my bank and they told me that she keyed in 2500! and it threw up the fraud protection and shut down my card for an entire day! Never went back to her! Next hit, the lady with the 'sleepy voice' Im sure this must be her 'Clark Kent' cover job and she's really a crime fighting DJ at night because each sentence takes for ever to come out and when she does, she asks questions or gives you service options that assume you are a) an overgrown toddler or b) don't know there are simpler ways to pay or ship something because its your first day ever in a post office. Here's a goodie, I watched the very thin, short hair cut, sleep deprived Asian man yell (literally) at a lady to hurry up filling out her letter address because the location needed to close. When she said please stop yelling at me you're scaring me, he said I don't care if its scaring you, hurry up. You need to be faster. Then started to mumble about her with the other Asian guy like she was a joke thinking he should worry about her feelings. I also watched an elderly white lady walk out soo angry about her treatment that she stopped me - A BROWN PERSON - in the lobby just to vent about how bad she was treated and that she thinks 'people like them bring the whole neighborhood down' and that she has ' a mind to never come back to that place.'@_@ That was the coup de gras of all moments. The only person in that place that's been reliably on her game in my opinion is the lady who is short and looks Polynesian, typically a pony tail wearer. My advice if you have to go to this place, pure luck if you don't walk out witnessing or experiencing frustration, annoyance or embarrassment. Do what you can to get in, and get out. lol read more

It's usually crowded and usually fine, but I brought a pre-paid package with postage already afixed in today and was told by the Asian woman "you rine". I didn't understand her so i said what's that? She repeated "you rine" and walked away. My assumption is that despite having a pre-paid package that can be placed in a designated spot like the other post offices in the area, at this one you have to stand in line with your pre-paid package. What is the point of paying ahead of time then ??????????? I placed my package on the counter for her to see when she returned from wherever she was going. One star is too much. Yesterday, I saw one of the clerks shouting to an elderly man who was there to post a package. The skinny Asian woman shouted to him WHAT IS IN THE PACKAGE? three times and the elderly man answered in a clear and calm manner though he seemed disturbed when the clerk shouted the first time. The next customer was an Asian woman who was treated politely by the same person. I was in line and watched once again the horrible situation in this office. If you are from a group other than Asian and especially if you are an elderly person stay away from this office (this is the third occasion). It really turns my stomach to see these clerks mistreat customers - why are we paying these people with our taxes? A supervisor is never available and she gives me 2 phone numbers to call where nobody ever answers. You get no solutions as to where a package is and why some days they just do not deliver mail. And why does it say your pkg is at the post office when it is not? Unacceptable. How does she and the other rude people feel about their self worth working in such a place of incompetents? Just the latest in a series of major time wasters and mess-ups I have had to deal with over the years.
