Laziness at the front desk. Post office people don't even want to look up a tracking number. I have to banter with them. My Mack book laptop is two days late. I'm here for the second time The last time I was here I recall being talked down to because I didn't put a label outside the box I was shipping. I didn't know. I come here a couple times a year max for the very reason that customer service sucks here. Thankfully our neighborhood has a FedEx Kinkos. They handle everything with a smile. I was a walk-in for passport renewal. I live in the city of Chicago, and work in Hoffman. After a HORRENDOUS experience at another USPS facility in Harwood Heights, I came to this facility, because my co-worker had a very positive experience with her Passport renewal. She was not wrong. I came in with all my documents in a Priority envelope and she took everything out and organized and stapled everything together. An ABSOLUTE joyful experience. I experienced some excellent service at USPS today! Four days ago (Friday) a package arrived for me. I missed the delivery, and scheduled a redelivery online for the next business day (Monday). I also put in a request that they leave the package at my apartment complex rental office since it is staffed and I didn't want to miss delivery while I was at work. On Monday, online tracking showed it was "Out for delivery," so I rushed home and stayed there and waited..and waited. My package ever showed. At 6pm, I called the (800) number to try and figure out why my package wasn't delivered. I was on hold for an HOUR (the recording stated a 20-40 minute wait for a representative) and no one ever picked up. Grrr. Needless to say, I ended up pretty frustrated. Today (Tuesday) I called the Bloomingdale USPS and spoke to someone (woman) about it. She apologized about the redelivery error, but also explained that *I* had to sign for the package. (Ugh.) She was very nice though. I went to USPS this evening to pick up the package. While I was waiting with my baby, he started fussing. A woman came out of the office to see him and interact with him. She ended up asking me if I was picking up a package, and then went to the back to locate it for me. She took the big bag I had brought (to carry it..it's hard to juggle a carseat and big box!) with her. That was so nice!!! She even asked the employee to help me to my car. I did NOT expect that kind of service from anyone, much less at USPS where customer service doesn't usually seem like a top priority. She totally made my day, though, by making things easier for me! United States Postal Service - I wasted an hour of my life on hold trying to locate my undelivered package. (NOT Bloomingdale USPS, but the [800] number.) - Post Offices Near Me - Bloomingdale, Illinois

I have a PO Box at this location. There is no major difference here than any other post office location but it is convenient. When I have to go a service counter, they are just okay. Not nice, mean or pleasent. Just average. This demeanor is consistent among the 4-5 reps I have encountered. I find this pretty hiliarious. Often times, they take their time calling the next person in line. There is no sense of urgency about getting the line down. One time, I went in and thought my item would fit in a rectangular priority box. After unsuccessfully trying to force fit it, I went with a larger square box. I walked up to the counter to ask for priority tape and was told they no longer offer free tape for priority shipping. While this may be the case, most post offices, let you use the tape. I have since been offered and used tape at other locations. Thus, the comment is both funny and inconsistent. But I will be sure to bring my own supplies. As a side note, they lock up the regular priority boxes and leave out the falt rate priority boxes which costs more. You have to mail during office hours if you want the cheaper priority boxes. Perhaps most people ship heavy items, but being the mail order Suzy that I am, I usually benefit from paying by weight, so I want the cheaper ones please!!! This is another way this locations maximizes on sales. If you get there after hours and have to mail something, you pay the higher costs. read more

Well I have livid on the service I recieved from Rocky the morning! He is a rude and miserable person.. People are struggling to find jobs and this man shouldn't have a job! I'm a very smiley friendly type of person. These working were very rude. Another customer came in after me and noticed the same thing, he made a comment to the workers (it was just us and the two employees) and asked them 'are you guys okay?' Worker responded 'well what do you mean' Guy says 'well just seems like you guys are having a really bad morning' i laughed to myself and the worker responds 'it's just Mondays' ... Man at least you got a job to come to on a damn Monday. And I'm sure you get paid a decent wage. These people were so rude, I can't even tell you. We had to ship a package overseas. This is a busy time of year. We asked one woman who told us to fill out one customs form, then we got to the counter and the man there said that could only be used for standard shipping and that for any other type of shipping we had to fill out another form. That wasn't so bad, but the person I was with does not speak or understand English very well, and of course I don't know the intricacies of international shipping and packaging. This guy looked at us like we were idiots and was very rude and unless we asked him specific questions he just stared at us with a dumb smug look on his face. There is a woman who may be the manager or postmaster, she was very nice and helpful, but is usually in back. The counter people are pretty rude and incompetent. Not a lot you can do about this, but at least you are forewarned while you are standing in line! read more

I've been here about a dozen times and don't particularly feel one way or another about it. It's a Post Office. I can buy stamps and I can mail packages. The location is convenient and the hours aren't bad. I normally use the machine in the lobby, which is open when no one is working there. I've only dealt with employees on a few occasions when I wanted to buy specific stamps. I'm in and out pretty quickly, so it gets the job done. read more

It's always a hit or miss here. Sometimes I go in and I get a friendly staff members. There's other times and most than any that u get someone who hates their job. I even got asked once why my mail was having issues being sent. My reasoning for going there was so that they could explain that to me. It's tough because I wish I could say nice things about them, but I can't think of anything. The most horrible delivery of any postal area I have ever lived. I receive my neighbors mail, and packages while my items are delivered to them. Last week a $4000 check was given to a neighbor 5 houses down. This week I am missing a package shipped priority mail and the tracking shows delivered. I' extremely dissatified with the service of the Bloomingdale post office. On 09/28/11 I bought over $300.00 in stamps to mail my wedding invitations, only to learn that about 30 people did not receive them. As I spoke with each guest to double check there address only 1 had the incorrect address...How come that many invitations did not make it to there detination? I know for a fact that each one had the correct postage b/c I verified it with Clerk before buying the stamps. The invitations were also double checked for accuracy before I dropped them in the mail at that same post office. I now have to go spend more money on stamps only to hope my invitations will make it to my guest....This is extremely disturbing...its no wonder the post office is having trouble. I have been going to this post office for a few years now and I have to admit, there were some moments that I either witnessed the workers being somewhat rude or curt with the customers, or with myself. However lately I have had nothing but good experiences. There is rarely a large line so going here is quick and efficient mail service. I often come in with my two year old and there is a super sweet lady who always comes over to say hello to me and my daughter. She offered my tot stickers and a fruit snack today (with my permission.) I just thought that added a sweet and personable touch. In my recent experiences the workers behind the counter have been helpful and nice. Keep it up USPS Bloomingdale, hopefully with time you will continue to get more glowing reviews. read more

I've visited this post office many a time to mail out orders from eBay and Amazon Marketplace. The workers here aren't the warmest or friendliest people, but they handle long lines efficiently and don't put up a fight if you tell them you want the cheapest shipping option available. Try to avoid coming here during lunchtime (11-2) on weekdays, because you'll most likely be hit with a line. Otherwise, you're in and out in 10 minutes tops. read more

In addition to that the carriers consistently deliver other people's mail to our address. I have had several issues with this post office the past four and 1/2 years but the most recent one was when I did a change of address request which is to take effect in late July. We have not gotten any mail in the past couple of days which for us is unusual so I called to make sure it was not accidentally processed. The woman I spoke to was extremely rude and unprofessional. She had an attitude from the moment I spoke to her and would not let me talk and then accused me of not letting her speak or listening to her. This is the worst service from any post office I have ever visited. I went yesterday and got there a little before closing time and they would not wait on me, told me to use the self-service machine. I went and processed my package and made payment for the machine to tell me it was out of paper and could not print the postage. I knocked on the door to let the same guy know and he said your charge was reversed so what is the problem. I asked if the machine had been out of paper and he said yes, then why did you tell me to use the machine. He closed the door and made no attempt to put more paper in the machine or ship my package. I left and went to a different post office. I will never do service at Bloomingdale post office again and this employee should not have a job with his attitude. read more

Hours are never the same through the seasons yet the website hours and hours on the door are not updated consistently. At least not on the website - ever. My ride from work to the P.O can be over an hour in rush hour and twice now I have gotten there 20 minutes early to find out it closed 10 minutes earlier (so essentially closing 30 min before the website said they would). Also, this Post Office is supposed to provide passport services. We went there to get passport photos and to renew our passports. There was a long line so we asked one clerk if we should bother waiting and she said yes. After waiting in line. we got to a 2nd clerk who said he wasn't sure if the camera was working and said he would check after assisting us with a purchase of packaged stamps. After he finished that transaction we reminded him about the passport photos and he said the camera was broken - he never left the register. We're not dumb but it was a ridiculous conversation I didn't care to continue. read more

When I spoke to the supervisor he had a complete attitude problem because I simply asked dont they screen packages tat come in? "We dont scan anything here, why would we do that? we dont do anything like that" ok funny how the police department said the post office does and so does the website. Two counter employees in particular at this location are extremely difficult to deal with. I've been a customer of this branch for over 6 years and I almost DREAD going in. It's always an ordeal, even the simplest thing, and they make you feel like they are doing you a favor dealing with you. They are rude, unpleasant and are never helpful - in fact you get the idea they would rather find ways to make your transaction difficult that easy ... either packages are wrapped wrong, addressed wrong, prepared badly, wrong wrapper, wrong ink, wrong wrong. They never seem interested in helping with a solution. No normal business could carry on with this kind of treatment, but I assume since it's government it's OK. The manager of this branch must have no idea what's going on. Many of the reviews here are negative. I wonder if anyone there cares. I will drive out of my way ... use UPS, FED-EX, BUS, TRAIN, MULE, CARRIER PIGEON, anything rather than go thru the gyrations required at the Bloomingdale Post Office. I'm done. read more

Growing up in roselle, I remember the bloomingdale post office on bloomingdale rd near lake st before they moved to schick. I still remember an Anthony/Tony and a petite Asian with glasses who were always nice and friendly. It's been a long time since being at this post office and a few weeks ago I needed to send out some invitations for my daughter. The lady who was helping me with brunette hair was super nice and friendly with a quiet and polite tone of voice. But I couldn't notice 2 cashiers down a gentleman with a loud voice telling this older couple who doesn't speak English well with a loud voice what to do. Wouldn't help them but getting frustrated the couple didn't understand him. Not very professional or customer service. I believe his name was Ricky but bring 2 windows down, I couldn't make out his name tag from there. If not for the lady with brunette who was very friendly and great customer service, I would have given it 1 star. read more

the post office was having a food donation for the local homeless shelter. The dropped off bags for us to fill and leave at the mailbox this morning. I left a bag out filled with different foods. One of the items must have fallen out of the bag and broke. Right in front of my driveway. it was a large glass jar filled with beets. Needless to say it was a mess. Glass everywhere.
