Good luck trying to resolve the issue, you will be told it has been handled or there was a sub and that's why it wasn't picked up. Clear training gap identified if the sub letter carrier is not aware they need to pick up mail too. I finally went to this office to speak to someone and was just handed a piece of receipt tape with a name and number to call yet again. Is the USPS hiring because it seems pretty chill, like you only have to do 50% of your job. I will now be looking forward to not receiving any mail due to retaliation.

Our community mailboxes locks were damaged during a theft incident. Now we have to go in person to the post office to pick up our mail. It is already an inconvenience to have to get to the post office before 5:00 p.m. but what really hits the nail on the head is the line wait time is about 15 to 20 minute. Being that at least 32 residents are affected by the broken locks, it would have been considerate to have additional staff on hand to help with the additional influx of people having to go to the Post Office to retrieve their mail. And to have one service person to handle the line, tolerating the dirty looks, and frustrated customer complaints, is bad management.

My daughter and son-in-law had spent their free time after their wedding, writing personalized thank you notes. We promised them we would mail them out of Long Beach (since everything related to their wedding had happened here), to get their hand-stamped postmark. It's just not that busy here, and when we came around 1 pm, the inside was empty. My wife realized that it was lunch break, so we came back at 2. We were able to buy the new pinback buttons forever stamps and adhese them to the preaddressed envelopes. The postal employee was extremely helpful, taking care of the hand stamping. These will go out tonight, being delivered all over the U.S., hopefully this week. Really glad this post office is nearby.

The clerk responded in a hostile and intimidating manner, after resisting that she could place a stick on my package being sent out, instead was responded with a low grade attitude including stating "I'm not the one to be messed with," and directed me aside to wait. Despite being first in line, she then assisted customers who arrived after me. Her tone and behavior toward me were noticeably different from how she treated others. Another employee later assisted me without issue and confirmed my package was acceptable for shipment, showing the delay and treatment were unnecessary. On 05/18/2026 around 2:30 p.m., a young man (unfortunately I did not catch his name) helped me submit and mail my passport renewal paperwork. I was already feeling extremely overwhelmed due to personal circumstances, and he remained calm, patient, reassuring, and professional throughout the entire interaction. Unfortunately, the employee next to him, a woman with colored braids and eyeglasses, was dismissive and rude toward me. Despite the young man already informing me he could assist me, she repeatedly tried to discourage me from mailing my paperwork there and told me I should go to another USPS location instead. Her approach added unnecessary stress during an already difficult moment. What stood out to me most, however, was how quickly the young man stepped in after overhearing the interaction. He immediately reassured me and took the initiative to help without hesitation. As someone who works in customer service myself, I know how much one employee can impact a customer's entire experience. One person can make someone feel unwelcome, while another can completely restore their faith in humanity.
