Exterior: USA flag flown above the POW-MIA flag at every USPS station
John E.

With cellphone/instant communication in today's (and tomorrow's) World, I strongly prefer written communications, specifically postcards. For decades, as I've travelled the World, I've always found the postal service--regardless of the country of origin (though most frequently the USA)--an extremely effective means of sending heartfelt messages that carry far more impact than an brief text message or email (though pix, when appropriately captioned, are very powerful statements, too!). Whilst a teacher in the World-class Ysleta ISD, part of my employment involved helping students obtain their very first (paid) employment, usually in fast-food. I regularly would visit with the employers, who might get as many as 100 applications a week, which is, of course, an overwhelming amount of competition for the few openings. It was during the visits that I'd ask if they had received a postcard from me; realizing that I was there on the behalf of my students, that single application would suddenly go to the head of the line for consideration. I was always pleased when they were bona fide paid employees, and like to think that my postcard enabled it! Yes, that was a digression, but I could not have performed that important part of my teaching position without the postal service, especially the USPS. While I wasn't at this great post office sending postcards (I'd retired 31DEC2017 from YISD after 28 years in the classrooms), I was performing a vital document delivery for my much better half, and the postal date-time stamp was important. Whilst in the queue, I witnessed the hallmark of ALL USPS personnel, which is unfailing service to every customer, regardless if that customer is positive or negative (I'm always positive). This particular customer ahead of me should have never come into the post office; he was determined to make someone pay for his horrific inadequacies/poor planning. Unable to get his mail acted upon in exactly the way he wanted, he berated the window agent, threatening later action with her supervisor. The wonderful window agent maintained very professional demeanor and responded to every question with calmness and clarity. She was the perfect representation of EVERY postal worker I've encountered in over a half-century by demonstrating her commitment to the "service" in "United States Postal Service". It's unfortunate that some (influential) people fail to understand how incredibly important the USPS is to an effective/fully functioning USA, but it is another gleaming aspect in our currently floundering country! Obviously, I highly recommend this station (as well as all around d the USA); it definitely has my coveted "iWheel of Approval!"

Packages not being put in mail lockers, even when there are mail lockers with keys available!
Diane M.

At our apartment complex, beginning at least one month ago, the mail carrier is just DUMPING packages in a pile on the ground near each of the mailbox banks, or putting them on top of the mailboxes. Anyone can steal them! Our maintenance manager has actually been delivering them to us on occasion! When I asked the mail carrier WHY she is not putting them on the mail lockers, she said "All the mail locker keys have been stolen, there's only like two left. You should report this to the office as there has been a LOT of mail theft in this area!" And yet she still just dumps the packages out there in a pile and has not told the office. When I reported it to the apartment management office they said they had no idea the keys had been stolen as the mail carrier never came to the office to tell them of the issue! This is all so UNACCEPTABLE! I have tried many times to call the post office, but their number is disconnected! And when you call the 800 number, you never get to speak to a human being! I will be reporting this to the US Post Master.

Horrible. The wait is unbearable. No person at package pickup. Rude clerks. Whole new staff is needed or major customer service training.

Do they do passport renewal here?

Yes, they do, but that service may have limited hours, so you might want to try to call first: (650) 960-6851.

Could just be that I have bad luck but it seems like every time I come to this place, the answer is…read moreno. Can't notarize today. Can't ship today. Can't take passport pictures today. And even when they can do what I want they're not always the most pleasant about it so in the future, I will not be coming back. When the CVS next-door has better service than you do, it's time to really think about things

We went inside and asked and lady said "we don't do that here" and to go to CVS. I asked why don't you do it here and she said very loudly and rude "CAMERA NOT WORKING". That's when I told her she should remove the sign in front. My recommendation is to not go here ever. Lady was rude. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Reply: It's clear that the owner is not reading what I posted, and clearly wasn't there. Because I never asked for an application for a new passport, I went in respectfully and asked for passport pictures, and I got a negative response immediately. She respectfully could have told me that the camera wasn't working at the moment instead of yelling it to me. The owner Trinity is not holding herself accountable. Instead she is lying and put a twist to my story. I hope this business does better soon, because given the reviews that I am seeing, everyone has had a negative experience here.

I got here not really considering the fact that tax time is fast approaching and that the new…read morecramped location would be bursting with people that required a lot of assistance because they came unprepared. There was some customer in front of me claiming she was late for a job interview and needed to print something, yet she was dressed in jeans and grubby tennis shoes. I so wanted to ask where she had applied. I've been a FedEx/Kinkos customer for years, so most of the staff is the same in their new MV location near Cost Plus (across ECR from the old one). I've also been to other locations. Usually when you have a small, quick job, and there's a big backup, they'll help you at the counter for no extra fee (i.e., customer service). However, that was not the message communicated to me by the female that initially greeted me, so I decided to wait for the customer with the supposed interview to figure out how to use the machine and leave so I could use it myself. I was also in here the other day when NOBODY else was there - not customers or other staff - except for a single employee and me. I don't expect an overly fake greeting, but whatever I did get was very unfriendly. And I didn't even require any help from her. Today I finally got to a machine and was able to go through some printing and copying on my own. However, one (SINGLE-page) document would not allow me to print it. After about 5 tries, I waited until a male employee (Kit-Shing) finished helping another customer. Since it was next to my machine, I noticed how patient and genuinely helpful he was (I've seen this before from him at the other location). He even gave the customer tips on dealing some of the instructions if they happened to speak another language (as he himself possibly does). It was absolutely respectful, and again, of real use. He told me he would help me to print out my document at the counter since the file itself was giving me issues. It took him very little time, and it worked for him on the first try. I was so grateful to him for making quick work of what should have been a simple process for me. He obviously understands the TRUE meaning of customer service. Him stepping in left me with a positive impression and made me feel comfortable that things will go smoothly next time I need their services. Please pay attention to his quiet wisdom! Sorry for rambling, but his attitude stood out even more because it's been a terrible week for customer service everywhere I've gone. So many people (often young, but not always) can barely be bothered to perform the most basic tasks they're paid to do. It's honestly appalling. I don't understand why they aren't more thankful to have a job in the first place in this economy and with the takeover of AI. I have only been asking them to help with simple tasks that are their only job duties. I have not been rude or difficult, yet I've been met with 'tude. Anyway, Kit-Shing is simply awesome. Thanks again!

I especially want to recognize Rex and Richard. I've known Rex for years, and he is always smiling, positive, and welcoming. You can truly tell he loves what he does, and that energy carries over to customers. He's a great guy and a pleasure to work with every single time. Richard is one of the newer employees I've interacted with, and his customer service is excellent as well. He's younger, but incredibly knowledgeable, resourceful, and professional. He has always taken the time to help my husband and me with whatever service we needed, and he does it with patience and confidence. I also want management to know how grateful I am for hiring such quality employees. It really makes a difference, and the Mountain View location stands out because of it. Thank you, Rex and Richard, for consistently going above and beyond you're both very much appreciated!
