Nicest people I've met in Albany and I highly recommend coming here, but maybe pay before the service lol! They're local, friendly, and super helpful. While Forever 21 had two entrances from the upper parking lot, REI has only one entrance. That second entrance and former retail space has been turned into a passageway with seating leading directly from the parking lot into the main concourse of the upper Mall level. From inside the Mall this passageway can be found between Lululemon and OraSempre, directly across from Michael Kors. REI has basically an outlet atmosphere - concrete floor, steel girder ceiling. Since I was there the day after their grand opening, there were plenty of signs announcing additional percentages off. You do NOT need to purchase a one-time co-op membership to shop in the store. Staff we encountered were helpful. Several times I was approached by an employee and asked if I needed any help finding something.

It was a one level shop Bass Pro shop and it looked like when you walked. It looked like it went on forever, but it was just Big and Wfp level so everything was kind of like fit in there. It was nice and neat clean. Everything was beautiful. It was all arranged perfectly. It didn't look messy or overwhelming for me. It was amazing because everything that we've ever gone into. They've all been two and three floors but this one here was unbelievable great selection of products we found T-shirts to bring home to the kids. We found a really reasonable deal on baseball caps and they said you know that it was just from New York so that's why we had to get one cause we don't have one from this particular store and every time I travel with or without the other half I try to take and I'm always get him something from Bass Pro. But they were very very helpful to us because he walks really slow and we met people in the store that was super nice. One young man held the door open for my other half of the bathroom thank them for service and I made sure I told my mother how flight and wonderful they were and she's like wow thank you so much. The Customer people they went above and beyond. I was totally taken by the fact that they were so kind so patient we were looking for particular things we were able to find size extra large socks for a young boy size 14 shoes but we weren't able to find the shoes. Unfortunate. But they were super kind. They went out back and looked. They brought the guy out that runs at Dept. He looked for them. He finally found one package away in the back, which was awesome. I apologize. I don't remember his name we also got to see a nice display from one of the other sales people about the special kind of fishing and stuff to do and then check out. People were just top-of-the-line absolutely willing to help you no matter what I really feel like this is probably one of the better bass pros I've ever been into but also one of the most beautiful.

I canceled the order 5 days later and he lied to me trying to tell me that he was expediting my order when I never asked and tried to charge me an 18% restocking fee for nothing. He then said he initiated a refund over $500 on 5/19/2025 and it's 06/12/2025 and I still have not received anything. I then told him to just Zelle me back the money. Jay has an excuse for everything and is not an honorable person in my opinion. I am still without any refund after he assured me it could take up to 14 days. It's well past the 14 days and still no refund. It's one excuse after another from owner Jay for steel he never shipped and I have not received. Avoid doing business with this arrogant owner at all costs. It's nonsense excuse after nonsense excuse. I strongly encourage everyone not to support this small business owner who is not honest and from my experience is a pathological liar.

I then found myself on my way to return my skates to this box store and took a drive to see Jay. Spent the morning with him and he got me in skates that are perfect for me, Bauer Supreme Machs..... we set up a real profile for my style and now when I need sharpenings, I mail him my steel and O have a second set for rotation. Great deal and this guy will give you honest, not gross profit vs. commission dollars crap....... Seriously stop wasting your time and money and text this pro.

However, I'm still stewing and frustrated that my bike is still broken after being charged $250 for a tune up and a tire replacement and being nice didn't fix that. The front tire wobbles after being replaced, the bike is very very hard to peddle to make it move forward, the brakes aren't tight and the front brake doesn't grab the front tire so it's useless, and they put a sticker on my bike. As stupid as the sticker part sounds, how would you feel if every mechanic threw a bumper sticker on your car? Why haven't I called them to re-look at the bike? I don't want to spend at-least another $250 to have them come "fix" the bike. The bike is old and they knew that coming in to this. It needed a total overhaul, which I was very clear about and I thought we both understood this. I'm very disappointed and frustrated that I still need to invest more money into this bike to have it fixed.

I like Karl to succeed, yes it cost a little more, but he is okay with me watching, teach me how to do simple maintenance, how to ride better, and within 2 hrs, I have my bike back and riding off into day... I like not having to drop my bike off and never seeing it for 3 weeks, and if I ask to watch the repairs/maintenance I usually get the excuse, no customer in the back, so I can't even be sure it is being worked on, only to trust that it is.
