This was our first experience with an appliance repairman so we really weren't sure what to expect but ended up being delighted with the service we received from Oleksandr. Oleksandr evaluated our ice maker and one of our ovens on his first call. He quickly determined the oven only needed the heating element replaced and told us he would order it and be in touch with us when the part was in. He made one adjustment on the ice maker in the hopes he would not have to replace any parts or do more extensive repairs and had us notify him the next morning to make sure it was working. It worked for 2 days but, unfortunately then quit; but when Oleksandr returned to install the heating element for the oven, he did another repair on the ice maker and it's now working again. Both appliances are now in good working condition. Oleksandr was always on time or early for his appointments and was very friendly and polite. We feel he was honest and fair and would highly recommend him and his company to anyone else needing repairs. read more

When the heating element on our Samsung dryer stopped working, I contacted Universal Repair. They quoted up to $310 for the repair, which is exactly what I paid. While the price was on the higher side, the convenience and speed of their service made it worthwhile. They came out the same day and completed the replacement within an hour. Yes, I could have tried to repair it myself for less, but it would have taken me much longer, time I didn't have today. This gem of a gentleman called alex from universal is someone I will trust for all my appliance related repairs, he came in to fix the refrigerator ice dispenser chute opening and closing at regular intervals and the display panel flickering continuously ! He was prepared with the parts, had clear diagnosis of the issue and took ownership of the fix. once the e main control board was replaced we found that the ice maker for some reason does not sync with the new board's programming cod, Alex was honest about the issue and explained the situation in detail and also gave us a discount on the main board price. I didn't know who to call when my discovered their was a slow leak in the water supply line to the icemaker in the refrigerator. At first I thought of calling a plumber, but then i rembered doing business with Universal Repair and being pleased with the results. So I went ahead and made another appointment with Universal Repair. As before, Alex arrived on time, as scheduled. After I explained what I knew, Alex moved the refrigerator away from the wall and soon discovered a pin point leak in the supply line. After he repaired the leak by splicing the supply line, he also replaced a defective light switch and cleaned the refrigerator coils. Oleksandr came back three times for one service charge, and when it turned out that more than the one part diagnosed as the problem needed replacement, he recommended that a replacement new dishwasher would be virtually the same cost as replacing the two needed parts on my old dishwasher. His recommendation did not make money for him, but represented my best interests. He even gave recommendations as to which dishwasher brands would be best and most cost-effective for me to buy, and one brand that he recommended I avoid. Excellent service. My refrigerator wouldn't go below 60 degrees no matter how much I cleaned the coils and fan. I gave them a call, got a same day appointment, and Dmytro showed up right on time. He quickly located the problem (thermistor), and worked non-stop to replace it. When he finished, the temperature immediately went down to the correct range. This was about four weeks ago and has been problem free ever since. I will definitely recommend them to anybody I know having refrigerator issues. read more

I called Universal Repair early Monday morning and they scheduled an appt for Noon. I had an old Samsung refrigerator that was half working (fridge fine, freezer not freezing.) The technician showed up on time and diagnosed my problem quickly and perfectly-- turns out it was simply out of Freon. He recharged it and checked the system thoroughly for leaks.
