We used Universal Repair to fix our whirlpool oven that completely stopped working one night(would not even turn on). Oleksandr and Dumitri diagnosed the problem with my Samsung refrigerator ice maker and water dispenser, both of which had stopped working. They were able to provide an affordable solution and to fix the actual issues without replacing the entire unit as recommended by a previous appliance repair company. The water dispenser quit working the following week, however Oleksandr came out the same day that I contacted him, and fixed it, charging only for the new part. The washing machine in one of my rental units needed a new belt. Universal charged $70 (paid by my tenant, which I reimbursed) for the visit and and told my tenant that they didn't have a belt for the washing machine. But they told me that they replaced the belt and charged me another $90. I called and left a message asking them to explain and never heard back. Received a quick response to our blanket post but there must have been a lack of reading the post details. The post stated the site (local high school) was in the planning/budgeting phase & project start date was 1-2 weeks later. The owner showed up to the site same day without confirmation of hiring, a scheduled appointment, or a good attitude. The gentleman, was upset that no one was available to give him access to the building, that the project wasn't approved to start, and even if it was the person that could pay the guy for the work wasn't going to be in the building until the next week. The gentleman then stated "This should have been done before this" pointing at the post. Then said "Okay, bye" and walked out the doors. The lack of professionalism from the business owner was astonishing. I've never heard of a business getting upset with a potential customer because they (the contracting company) didn't read the details. He may have had a bad day but if handled differently this company's proposal could have been accepted and depending on the quality of work, may have been called for future projects. I suggest looking for another repairman because you might be put in the same position as our school. read more

We have a bottom style freezer French door refrigerator and had been turned away by many other companies because they couldn't work on our model. Rarely do I get on this site to laud a business, but this business deserves the praise. I called Universal Repair to take out a double wall oven for repair. They retuned my call immediately and after I explained the problem and what I might need. Alec gave me an estimate, and I time frame that he could come by for the repair. He was on right on time, had the necessary equipment, had a mask, was courteous, and got to work. Very through, repair was done quickly without any problems. Cleaned up everything. Very competent, friendly. Was charged a very fair price. It is not often that you feel that you were provided excellent service and price. Oleksandr responded very quickly to a problem we were having with an Oven. He quoted his fee to come out and diagnose the problem. He found the problem which was a bad Fuse that caused the electric display to not work as well as not allowing the oven to turn on. We have a 12 year old GE Profile Electric Range.
