I went back because it was the only place I knew, & he was too busy to change my oil. I yelped nearby places & the second place I called also couldn't fit me in. I finally called this one & he asked how soon I could be there. 5 minutes later I left my car with the friendly mechanic & was standing outside trying to figure out what to do during the 30 minute wait. The cashier invited me inside since it was cold, which I thought was super nice, but I had just Googled the Starbucks down the street. He said he'd call me when my car was ready & even told me to use the crosswalk right there because there wasn't another one (just another friendly gesture). 30 minutes later, I was ready to go! We then talked for a few minutes while I checked out & he was just super nice & seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say. It's just nice, especially in LA to have that friendly attitude & care that you usually can't find in a big city. Grateful to them for that & my car is running well. I will be back! read more

I've now used Universal for an oil change, spark plug replacements and a repair to a front wheel seal. I am really impressed with the low pressure and high quality of the service here. The white pet hair was spread all over the black interior. My wife checked out my new purchase, but she couldn't even sit in the car, because she was so allergic to the dander. No need to fear! We left Disneyland Sunday morning, heading to San Jose (Nor Cal). By the time we hit Burbank the check engine light was on and the thermostat was full red. We decided to stop at In-N-Out to let the car cool down, as soon as we figured we weren't gonna make it over the Grapevine, I started Googling mechanics open on Sunday, by chance I happen to call Universal service station and spoke to Jesse, who although wasn't able to take care of us at the time, he tried his best to put me in contact with shops nearby to see if anyone was available, to our dismay we couldn't get any help, but Jesse was kind enough to allow us to leave our car at his shop and recommended several hotels in the area. After a lovely night and day in the amazing town of Burbank, he was able to get us back on the road. Jesse was communicative, helpful, courteous and went way above and beyond to inform us of the car's progress as we were waiting. THE SEARCH IS NOW OVER! I have lived in California for 3 years now and have had a very difficult time finding a mechanic I knew I could trust. After my friend put washer fluid in my power steering, we had my car towed to Universal Service Station. Jesse was the NICEST guy ever. He did a complete flush of the fluids and after a week had me bring it in for a second flush just to make sure everything was in tip top working order. They even washed my car! The service was speedy and of the utmost quality. The cost was so reasonable (about 60% less of what my former mechanic would have charged). I came in because my check engine light came on, and Jesse was very friendly with me. He said he would charge $40 to run a diagnostic, and as my dealership charged over $100 last time this happened, I figured that sounded good. Jesse called me later to let me know what was wrong, and give me a quote to fix it. I called around to several other auto repair shops in the area, and when I told Jesse that another garage gave me a lower estimate, he offered to knock off the diagnostic charge for me. I had thought that the diagnostic charge would be added onto the estimate, but he had actually included it in the estimate, so that gave me a price pretty comparable to the other shop. He could have screwed me over, and he didn't, so that was pretty nice of him. I really appreciate it. They did good work for me. read more

I can't say enough good things about Jessie and Universal Service Station. Our son moved to LA from Oregon. He had a significant breakdown in his Toyota. The dealer wanted to replace the engine. We searched around for an alternative, found USC through Yelp, decided to give it a chance, and were extremely pleased. He rebuilt the engine at significantly less than we would have paid the dealer. It runs like a clock. He was extremely helpful and friendly as well as being very professional. This place is the real deal. Jesse the owner mentioned he didn't think people trusted that they really do offer concierge service - free pick up and drop off of your car. But I can assure you, they do. They really will pick up your car for free and drop it off as well. My old clunker just finally bit the dust. I suppose it could have been fixed but Jesse told me flat out he wouldn't let me fix it if I wanted to because of how much it would have cost. So definitely, they are honest and it really seems Jesse cares to make sure his customers are feeling well taken care of. Highly recommend read more

I'm giving them two stars only because dude ended up not charging me for the interior wash that I thought came with an outside wash. I mean it just rained the outside of the car is filthy uhhh hello. My car is less than a year old (2017) I don't need a $115 dollar only interior wash. So buyer beware he currently does not have an option for just a wash on the website. It's shady practice to me... if you're posting about car washes etc. and you specialize in washing/ detail , you'd think being charged $115 dollars typical price (after rain special 25% off) it would come with an actual car wash . I also had to pick up my car later than expected due to my schedule. During that time in which I was text , since my car was staying their longer and the interior was already done , I should have the outside washed. I was shocked and went to pick up my car. I understand we live in a capitalism. So I already knew I would pay him and never return again. He refused the money. I let him know his car wash is for rich people! Buyer beware make it clear you want the outside of your car washed. Ohh and before he does any extras make sure to ask if there is an additional price. He does do a great car wash but his way business is unclear and shady. read more

After we agreed on some work that needed to get done they had it done when they said it would be done and were able to give me a very affordable price for the work. I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. Jessie is honest and friendly and I trust him 100% with my old car. I brought it in a few months ago to get a new battery and the mechanic also filled my tires and nailed my bumper back on without me even asking. I brought my car back in the other day for a full service oil change for only $40! I asked him to look at my brakes because they were squeaking pretty bad. Jessie explained to me why they were squeaking and why I should not replace them just yet if I didn't mind the squeak. I know virtually nothing about cars so I really appreciate the honest advice. It is scary moving all the way across the country, and having to find a new mechanic. Before I was taking my vehicle to Chevrolet dealership, bad idea. Awful service, extremely high prices, and they lie like CRAZY. Jesse was an absolute blessing to find. Straight up, honest, helpful, and VERY reasonable pricing. He also will take you in that day, if possible. My first problem was my air conditioning system, the dealership told me they would have to replace absolutely everything, costing me over 300$. Took it here to get a second opinion, turns out it was just a bad fuse, costing me only 40$. Second time around, my breaks were giving me constant trouble and noise. Dealership told me it was the break pads and rotors being rusted, which I had JUST gotten changed. Took it to Jesse and found out it was something deeper and dangerous. It cost me a lot more than just a pad and rotor change, but ultimately fixed the ENTIRE problem rather than a temporary fix. Thank you Jesse. You guys are the absolute best. read more

This place is great! Jesse (owner) and Mario (mechanic) were really friendly and trustworthy guys. I really know nothing about cars and they made me feel comfortable and at ease with paying for the services provided. I dropped my car off in the morning before heading to work because I had a Check Engine Soon light go off. They offer to drop you at your work while your car is being serviced - which was really nice. The diagnosis was $50 charge which is waived if services are performed afterward. They found that my thermostat was broken so Jesse called me to explain the purpose of the thermostat and it's importance with the workings of the engine. He ordered the part and Mario replaced the part. Within the same few hours, I had them fix my AC and order & install a front license bracket. All of this was completed within a few hours without any notice, which was really appreciated so avoid the inconvenience of being car-less for any longer than a few hours. A week later, Jesse gave me a call to follow up on how the AC was running. I dropped by and they checked free of charge. Of course, the AC was running perfectly. Shortly after, I returned for a second time - for an oil change. I called Jesse an hour before stopping by and he ordered the fully synthetic oil and appropriate filter and had it all ready before I got there. Mario finished it very quickly as they knew I was stopping by on my lunch break. Jesse gave me a discount on the oil, too!
