Had my spark plugs changed here. Every other place quoted me ridiculous prices close to dealers. These guys quoted almost half of that and did an awesome job! He went through all the effort and time to call my dealership to check if it was under warranty, and went even further to try and schedule an appointment for me. At no cost! Before you read the rest of this review, know up front that I didn't get any service done on my car. I have a 2 year old car, and the air conditioner suddenly went warm on me. Thinking my warranty was over, I went to Yelp to find help. Based on the excellent reviews, I found Jesse. I sent him a message at 8:00 PM detailing my problem and he got back to me within the hour. Not only that, he went out of his way to contact the dealership to see if my warranty was still good (which it was). THEN he followed up with me the next day to check and see if I had gotten an appointment! I am blown away at the level of customer service I got from someone over Yelp messages and for the upfront honesty about where to take my car. This place has a perfect rating for a reason, if you're debating on going, don't. Just go, you won't regret it. Seriously. After my first experience, I will always go here from now on. I needed an oil change for my Chrysler 200, I called around a few places, and on the phone I spoke with Jesse. He gave me accurate information (my previous phone call with another business was horrible, the guy lied to me about the oil I needed), and Jesse included taxes in his price. As soon as he did that Jesse's transparency won me over and I went in. Jesse gave me a cheaper oil change than the other places, and he was fast. I asked Jesse what time I could come in, in order to save the most time since traditional dealers take anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour and a half. He told me to go in about an hour from when I called. As for the length of the oil change? I waited maybe 15 minutes before Jesse finished and called me back in. Jesse gave me such an awesome experience and his integrity is so profound that I'll keep coming back as long as I can. I now consider Jesse a friend because of this experience and the times we've spoken, its not often you can say that about ANY business. read more

Called ahead of time to get an oil change and see if something could be done about a tire I had leaking air. I arrived to get an oil change in the morning and was their first customer of the day. The owner was very nice, but it ended up taking over an hour to get a simple oil change because they didn't have the right type of oil for my car (a 2012 Honda Civic - not exactly an exotic car). They had to wait until their supplier came to deliver the oil to the business. Then they told me they couldn't do anything about my tire leaking air after all. I wouldn't have come at all if I wasn't promised help with that problem, and certainly not if I knew I'd have to wait over an hour for a quick oil change. read more

I finally have a new service station! These guys are top notch! I have been going to quite a few service stations, until I was recommended this new place.. it was a bit hard to find as it still had the old signage up, but look for the red and white service station on the corner of Scott and Glenoaks. Jesse and Co. did a comprehensive check on my car, and found a HUGE mis-step that Volkswagen Pasadena hadn't informed me on. My hoses were dry and brittle, and TAPED TOGETHER by their mechanics! He also pointed out other mis-steps and oversights that other mechanics had ignored, and sent me pictures of the old parts as he progressed! There were a lot of repairs that other mechanics had said I had needed, and a few things they had never even checked and Universal looked into it, and showed me that those repairs were not necessary and we only worked on what was needed. These guys are a breath of fresh air in the automotive industry. I'll keep it short and simple. My car was involved in a minor undercarriage accident, my biggest concern was if anything was damaged (transmission, oil pan, etc) I knew my skid plate was gone but the rest was still a horrifying mystery. They came through for me and inspected everything, their prices are more than fair and I really appreciate how awesome I was treated.
