9/25 Update- I went back today with Mickey and there's two dryers now! They added a new one!! I recently came here for the self-wash station. I recently moved to CA and since I live in an apartment, showering my 50lb foster pup has been extremely difficult. The staff was very accommodating since my dog needs medicated baths and needs a little extra time between shampooing and conditioning to let it soak in. For $20, we were not rushed during the process and were allowed to stay as long as we needed since there weren't many people. The only downside was there was only one dryer, but the people at the other self-washing station were great about taking turns and not rushing others using it. I would highly recommend the stations here. The staff were quick with cleaning up after each use and even recommended certain stations to help us feel more comfortable since it was our first time. I will be back for his next bath! read more

Older cats struggling to keep on weight may benefit from a highly digestible food rich in antioxidants, omega-3 and -6 fatty acids and prebiotics. Found the brand and could only find it at Petco. Ordered online for store pickup. Helpful service and was on/out in about a minute. I mixed the new food with the old. Ted liked the new cuisine, so a win! Both staff members were helpful but I really need to put the spotlight on the young lady who handled the pet wash area like a true champ. she was quick and through to clean the tubs as soon as they became available, zooming back and forth with fresh clean towels, shampoo and doggie brush. Asked every party if there was anything they needed, towels, shampoo, etc. All with a smile on her face even after handling complaints on length of time some paw-rents took to wash. Kudos to that young lady. I hope she gets her due recognition and promote up. read more

I recently took my dog to use the dog bath area. It currently cost $20 and they provide towel, shampoo, conditioner and a scrubber. It great as they clean before you bath your dog and after. I wanted to leave this review in regards to the bathing your dog option at this location. The staff have always been kind and amazing for the past 5 years we've been here. The very first time we brought our pup here was the day after we adopted her, November 21st 2015. We paid $10 to bathe her, and got: - a basket with shampoo, conditioner, scrub brush, de she's brush - unlimited towels - Tub leash - blow dryer Then the price went up to $12 Now, we pay $15 to bathe her, and get: - a basket with watered down shampoo and conditioner, a scrub brush - 2 towels - No tub leash(our dog likes to jump out of the tub). - blow dryer Note that the shower head on the far right tub screeches constantly as you're using it. While we understand that price will increase for goods and services overtime, it disappoints us that they had to water down the shampoo and conditioner, and give us only two towels. We have found it disappointing to have to struggle to wash and dry our dog. We actually bring our own quality shampoo and conditioner now, so we're really paying $15 to use the tub, dryer, and two towels. It's hard to dry a 85lb gsd with two towels. We still enjoy coming to this store, but will explore other options to bathe our dog. read more

Unleashed by Petco is located in the Greenhouse Marketplace. There is a shared parking lot, but this is a semi-busy plaza, so you may have to park further away and walk over, especially on weekends and weeknights. This review is based solely for my experience with the employees during my visit for an Amazon return. I had a couple of Amazon packages to return and while I usually go to either a Kohl's or an UPS for my returns - for some reason, on this particular return, it would not let me return several items together to either store (and it did not make sense to return my packages to 2 different spots), but Unleashed did allow me to return everything together, so I made a pit stop here. It was my first time here, so I did not know where they did their Amazon returns at - I did not see any employees, so I wandered around for a bit, until I spotted someone to ask, which she responded in a sort of cold manner that it is at the front - probably because she had to go to the front and deal with the my return. She went to the front to help me and during the whole process, I could tell she was annoyed, as she made several passive aggressive remarks to her fellow coworkers at the register regarding having to do this return. Anyway, after she packed / labeled my returns - I asked for a receipt, but she said they do not give any, which was a bit strange to me, as I always get one from Kohl's and UPS. Customer service could use a bit of work - based on their reviews, it looks like it is not just with Amazon returns, but it seems the same with actual customers who shops / uses their facilities here as well. read more

Really good place to hand wash, give your dogs a bath! First time I tried it, it was like $10 and they gave you a choice of shampoo/conditioner usage along with towels to dry with. Then you get to use one of their 3-4 wash bays which is safe even for small or bigger dogs of 70+ lbs. They have a vacuum and hair dryer. 2nd time, there seemed to be an increased of price may 5-10 dollars more. Wasn't even a year later that I went back but didn't complain about it. I was just confused at first but thought maybe they might have raised their price. Still offered the same shampoo/conditioner etc... It is definitely a 5 star for me to have this location open up their place for pet owners to be able to clean and wash their companion! Everybody should be thankful for that. I see people complaining about on yelp how dirty the place can be, that's nothing. We're not perfect, and this place is not perfect. Whats the difference. ;) read more

I cannot recommend anyone doing business with this company and at this location. Approximately three weeks ago I was informed by Petco unleased in Oakland that they would not be able to honor the paint training previously purchased for my new puppy. They recommended I transfer the training or seek a refund. On the same day, I contacted Cortney at Petco unleashed at this location. She assured me that there was room for my dog and her class beginning March 30 and she would transfer the training from Oakland to this location. She also assured me that she would contact me if she ran into any problems. Two days ago, I received a text from Petco unleashed Oakland that I had not yet obtained a refund or transferred the training. And asked me to identify what I wanted to do. Yesterday, I contacted this location to find out the status of my puppies training, which is set to begin this Saturday, and why the transfer had not occurred. The clerk that I spoke to promised that Cortney would be calling me back the same day. Since she did not, I called this location today to see what the status was on my dogs training and transfer of my dollars for from Oakland to this location. Able to talk to Cortney. She informed me that the class was full now and that she never made the transfer. When she informed me that she failed in, completing what she had promised, I asked for her supervisor. She responded that no supervisor and no manager was on duty. I asked that she leave a note for them to give me a call. She refused. I then asked for the name of her manager and she said it was "Marvin somebody" (or something to that effect) and she instructed me to get the refund because she was not going to train my puppy. At this point in time, I cannot in good conscience, recommend anyone do business, especially sign up and pay for AKC training, with Petco, and with this location in particular. read more

This star is for the girl from the front that was doing the check-ins for the VETCO vaccine services. I was requesting for the KITTEN SHIELD PRO but she kept off saying that it was better to get the KITTEN START plan. I requested to get two times but she kept of saying if I get that plan I'll have one vaccine left over. I don't know where she herd that from because the KITTEN SHIELD PRO will have everything my kitten will need for the months to come. She the. Said no you'll get the KITTEN START plan. I was already uncomfortable I didn't know what to do. I wanted to leave put really needed my kitten to get dewormed because he really needed it. I then saw the vet wanted to say something but i was so confused and uncomfortable for what just happened to me with the girl who was doing the bad service before. I did a lot of research before hand. Had to make sure my kitten was going to get everything he needed. But I was SCAMMED. The girl who said that I should not get the KITTEN SHIELD PRO because it would be cheaper. No way what's so ever. Now I will be paying $100 for the other services I would have gotten if I got the KITTEN SHIELD PRO. I called there costumer service line today to do a complaint for what she did to me. Just to wonder how many more people has she done this too. I'm a single mother of three who are on the Autism spectrum and ever cent that I have needs to spent wisely. I thought this would have been a wonderful experience but it stared out so wrong. Also before I was seen that girl made a huge mistake she let a dog that was know to be aggressive still receive service. I can't believe y'all have a worker who is not able to do the what she is supposed to do. Vetco do better. read more

I haven't had the heart to bathe my daughter's Chihuahua mix at home because it's been so cold. We have aww'ed and laughed whenever we have walked by the Unleashed self-serve dog wash; I decided to make it happen this week after seeing the mostly positive Yelp reviews. The price is still $10 with no time limit. The staffer handed me a bin with shampoo, conditioner, a scrub brush, and two towels. I was bummed there is no longer ear cleaning solution or cologne offered. Yes as others have noted, the shampoo is watered down. Thankfully my dog is little and quite clean usually. The conditioned was not watered down and made her coat feel soft. I found the hose and tub easy to use and apart from some splashing it was a pain-free experience for the three of us. We attempted to use the blow dryer but it's quite large and the roar quite loud and my dog had had enough by then. I attempted to wash the tub as I saw my neighbor do after she finished bathing her dog. The staffer told me not to worry and that he would finish cleanup. read more

A great boutique shop to get all your pet supplies or you can also stop in to give your dog a bath (either self service or staff driven). I stopped by to check out their selection of bully sticks of which they had plenty, and also ended up getting some cat litter and a new squeak toy for my dog, which is now one of his favorite toys. They carry certain brands and products that I haven't seen at the bigger chain stores and the staff here is super friendly. Overall, great place to mark as your local pet supply stop. read more

it is very conveniences to bath our 65 lbs husky with social distancing. We have been coming there for sometime and had good experienced with the staff and the wash setup. we have no issue with the operation. Unfortunately, the last time we took our dog there, he caught a skin bacteria infection from bathing there and was hospitalized for one night. Just hope they will clean the area well and if they are recycling the shampoo/conditioning bottles, sanitizes it before reusing them. read more

The 5 star rating is strictly for the $12 self service dog wash! Marvelous idea, and beautifully executed by unleashed. Paying for a grooming sesh can cost around $60 for my 85 pound rhodesian Ridgeback named Chumba. I normally would wash my Rhodie myself at home but after having a baby, we were looking for a cheaper alternative that wouldn't require so much time/effort/cleaning at home and I think we found it! The store provides all that you need to wash your dog. The shampoo, towels, water, tub, professional dryer... they even have aprons available! All you do is pay the cashier and they provide you a shower caddy with all the goods. You load your dog up in one of the three wash tubs available and get to work. Part of my elation may be due to the fact the hubs washed the pooch this time! Usually I tackle this task.... and what's even better, our experience went so smoothly, we will likely be back every two weeks, and according to the hubs, he'd be happy to wash the pup again there. Who let the dogs out?! The owners did!!! 13 dogs came to Unleashed by Petco for a special birthday celebration for Buster, Kensie and Bear! These Corgi's were turning 3 years old and were from the same liter. How cute is that? Each year these 3 siblings come together to party but this year they partied like its 1999! The staff sectioned off a corner for the dogs and their people. So, you felt like you were in your own space. The party came with balloons, peanut butter banana cake, lots of water bowls, pee pads, chew toys, balls, and chairs for people to sit on. You can also bring human items like soda, chips, and etc. but we concentrated on the dogs needs instead. The dogs started mingling to get to know each other. Yes! They were sniffing each others butts! That's what they do. Some lounged and basked in the warm sunshine. Some barked and tried to start a rumble. Some couldn't leave their people's side for a second and shivered and shaked the entire time there (that was my Winstie, he was scared). There was a lot of love at first sightings going on as you can see some dogs following others instantly and wouldn't leave them alone. Yes, that's how dogs par-tay! The staff was super nice and attentive. They even opened up a new nail clipper for us to use on a small chihuahua. In which we ended up buying 2! A few owners washed their dogs in the self doggy washing section. And others picked up snacks and other items for their dogs. Overall, the party was a success. It was fun seeing so many dogs come together to celebrate a birthday. I would recommend this place to any owners that want to throw parties for their dogs!! Came here to give my dog a self service dog wash, having used a similar service at other Petcos. Short version, I won't ever be returning and encourage you to avoid the place. More details below... Things started off to a bad start with no signage for the pet wash area, then once I found it there wasn't a counter to check in, although there was a sign saying to do that... There was an employee washing a dog but they wouldn't even meet my eyes and were ignoring me. I then waited in line for five minutes because there was only one person at the registers. Told them I wanted to "check-in" for a dog wash and was the wrung up for it (money up front) for the wash, which was $20. Was handed a plastic basket with shampoo, conditioner, and three small very worn towels. Finally went over to get started washing my dog, then found all the stations dirty. I had to wait for the staff member to clean it and then wait another few minutes until they rinsed off the cleaning agents. Finally started the wash only to find that there wasn't any hot water. Tepid at best. This was with the hot tap open fully and cold completely shut. My dog ended up shivering and having a bad experience. This is also when I found that the shampoo bottle was full of water and the shampoo was so watered down that it would barely lather. Finally went to dry my dog and found that the dryer hose nozzle was broken and that the blower had no velocity (speed) or temperature controls. My now very cold and shivering dog was struggling with the full force (and noise) of the dryer. The previous people trying to use the dryer just gave up as their dog would have none of it. I decided I'd talk to the staff member about the issues but they were immediately very dismissive but did agree that there wasn't hot water and that the towels barely absorbed any water and were next to useless. I'm sure they were a poor minimum wage worker and had no control over things, so didn't really expect them to do more than apologize or explain how to get hot water, but I didn't even get that... Having now completed the wash and left (with no goodbye from the staff as we left the store), I decided to try and leave feedback thru the website. This is when I found out that the website has no feedback option, and contact page only had a national number. So I called that only to wait on hold for 23m and then get hung up on immediately. I then called back and tried the call me back option, only to get a call a half hour later, but again when I was connected, couldn't hear anyone and they couldn't hear me and they just hung up. Again, this wasn't an experience I would expect for $20. I've had similar bare bones self wash experience for $12, but they actually had functioning and clean stations. I won't be ever returning and suggest you avoid the place. read more

This is for the corporate policy "no returns during COVID" effective January 2021. No end date. Why would I shop at a location that won't allow for returns? Sometimes things just don't work out. For example, me shopping at Petco Unleashed again, it just won't work out. Find me at Pet Food Express. Edit, in response to corporate response: thank you for the apology, but the response doesn't improve customer dissatisfaction. For example, what is the return policy after 60 days? It's not on your receipt or your website; it should be. Once return policy is back, how will I know? The time will be ticking for my 60 days, but I would have to check the store daily? Weekly? to find out when I can return? Not allowing returns is not happening at any stores I shop at. Clean and quarantine your returns. No one expects anything they purchase to be 100% clean. Anyone with COVID could walk in and touch things at anytime! You're not fooling anyone by saying "no returns" is for customer safety. It's all about the bottom line and I'm not having it. It's not honest or transparent. I do not recommend Unleashed by Petco, for 1 reason: this policy. read more

I can't say much about all the different services or products that Unleashed by Petco offers, but I can say that I do love the customer service the staff here brings to their customers. They're always super friendly and accommodating & are always willing to answer any questions we have on different items they sell. For example, when that good ol' heat wave was passing through we wanted to know what were the most popular or well-liked iced cream/yogurt treats for pups! The employee who was working really helped us out and was able to give us her advice, but also noted that it really is dependent on your dog! My pup's personal favorite are the probiotic frozen yogurts! Flavor-wise....it's apple juice and cheddar and tbh as a human I'm like uhhhh....that's odd, but my pup is all for it and it was an excellent choice so she could beat the heat :) Also, I love coming here because they have a variety of cookies I can choose from to buy for my special pup! & they're pretty affordable (since you pay based on weight) and a few cookies can only set you back some change or a dollar if you're really feeling generous and want to show your pup some extra treat-osity! Once again, it goes to show you that staff attitude makes all the difference in the world! I'm not clear on what the difference is between "Unleashed" and the regular Petco, but I like it here better. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I work with a rescue organization, and have come in for adoption events. The folks here love animals, and that's the biggest part of a pet store experience for me. They've helped us to focus the dogs so we can take pictures for Petfinder. They ooh and ahh over the adoptable dogs. They cheerfully help me to find the products I need for my own dog. Although this store is fairly small, and their prices aren't always the best, 5 stars for their friendly service and the self service bath for my heifers! Come here often for the $10 dog wash, you can adjust the water temperature, chose your shampoo type, they provide towels, brushes, and a blow dryer. I also enjoy the ear cleaning solution + cotton balls for the entire package that will leave your pul feeling and smelling fresh. One of my dogs can be very, leash reactive when he gets nervous (about bath time) and has on more than one occasion, barked and made a little scene while getting into the tub if there are other dogs getting a bath. I love this store. It has a small town pet store feel with big box support. The employees here are all amazing and know our dog by name! They are all so excited to see him when we are there! The self baths are great! It is impossible to bathe our Great Dane at home but the deep tubs here make sure he stays sneaky clean! We did puppy classes with Amelia for our last dog and are going to do them with our new puppy as soon as his vaccines are up to specs! Brought my basset hound in today for a shower and it was an extremely easy process. They have basically everything you would need for a shower: your choice of shampoo, conditioner, brushes, combs, towels, dryer, cotton balls, and ear wash solution, for only $10! After you pay $10 at the counter, the cashier will give you your choice of shampoo, conditioner, and brushes. (Everything else you need is on the shelves in the self wash room). There are three shower stations and two dryers available. The facility is extremely clean and the employees are more than happy to help if you don't know how to work the shower. Overall I had a great experience and will be back soon to give my basset hound another shower! read more

My husband got me a puppy for Christmas! I absolutely love this store compared to the bigger stores just because I feel like it's more fully stocked. My pup loves these peanut butter sticks I can't seem to find anywhere else. The employees here are also very helpful and friendly. They offered me a coupon book to get everything started.
