I just needed a proper drive to reset the sensors. I listened to him and drove the car follow the suggested driving pattern for ~40 miles. It passed! I most appreciated is the he offered his expert opinion without charge. Terry was not only just asked questions online. I scored a 50% off special on the diagnostic test which was the cherry on top. -1 star for the estimate because in my opinion its steep. Again this may be fair pricing but I do not have enough context or data to say that. Right now, for me, the estimate is a showstopper.I am waiting to hear back from the dealer who sold me the vehicle to see if they will help fix this.

I went to investigate and it was near the oil filter housing it attaches to. drove it to Exact motorsports to have them evaluate, and Sandy & John were helpful in diagnosing the problems. They seem to be very knowledgable with the toyota/lexus platform. They gave me a reasonable quote and I left the car with them. They also mentioned it was probably due for new spark plugs, and a new valve cover gasket so I had them throw that in there as well. When I picked up the car, it drove much more efficiently and no more leaks! Turns out it was a broken O ring. I enjoyed that experience, so a year later (Nov 2025) my belt was squeeking a lot in cold weather. They were able to diagnose and swap the belt to a new one within a day or so. No more squeeks in the cold mornings. The best part about exact is that its a mom and pop, locally owned shop that doesnt put you in a upsell, pressure environment. They tell you what you need, what you dont need, and what are nice to do but not urgent so you can make your choices for the best quote. I will be going to them for any future needs for my Lexus, and have been recommending them to my friends and family for the same purposes.

She always give you an option of using OEM or quality aftermarket parts, and provide quotes so you can compare and find what's best for your needs. One time I noticed my engine coolant reservoir to be completely empty. I emailed Sandy for advice, and she fit me in the next day and advised me to buy Toyota coolant and top it off before driving. After dropping off the car, they immediately found the radiator is cracked and needs to be replaced. They ordered parts and replaced the same day. They even help arranged a ride to a nearby car rental shop. They truly go above and beyond for their service. My first review was about replacing struts. I went with Sandy's recommendation of using aftermarket struts (KYB brand). 10 years later, I can positively vouch for her recommendations. The strut has held up well over time.

At the end of each day, they cleaned up and put away the tools so the house was still accessible. It's crazy how different the house looks compared to before. I'm just loving it! Then over the winter, Chris' team returned because I wanted my garage refinished. I had 70s paneling and broken/crumbling dry wall. Considering how much time I spend in my garage, I can't believe I lived with such an eye sore for so many years. I gave Chris the hard task of wanting smooth walls, and if you know...that's a whole lot of sanding. His team came through and delivered! I love the new paint color on the walls, and no longer despise my garage. Oh, and also want to mention that he also patched up a bunch of holes inside my house (from electrical work I had done) and matched the existing wall texture and paint. Most recently, I had a front PPF and tint done on my Tesla, and the results were flawless. OCD Detailing is one of the few places capable of tinting the entire Tesla roof using a single piece, with no seams, and it looks incredible. They were also kind enough to help install hub caps I purchased separately and recommended a great source for blacked-out emblems. My car turned out beautiful. The only downside is that I live in San Francisco, so the drive is a bit out of the way, but it was absolutely worth it. Unplugged Performance Fremont is a fantastic option for Tesla owners! I recently had a flat tire on my Model Y, and they patched it up quickly and did a tire rotation. Had an extremely unpleasant experience with this shop…read more Brought my 1990 miata in after a head rebuild, with both coolant and oil leaks. I called them on Wednesday, and they said they would likely be able to take a look on Thursday, if not for sure Friday. I left the car with them the same day, trusting that they would do this. Friday comes around and I don't hear a word from them, so I give them a call. They now tell me that they were busy and hadn't gotten time to get to it. Now the car has been sitting for 5 days (wednesday to monday) and NOTHING has been done to it, while this is my only car. On Monday they finally call me back and tell me that a bunch of stuff is unplugged and they will need more time to diagnose the issue, and asked for 4 labor hours total. I accepted this, and hoped that they would find the leak. I wait a few more days and hear no updates, so I call back just for them to say that they are now having issues with the car starting. I wait another few days (been nearly 2 weeks now) and they say the same thing. On the third week they finally tell me that they got the car to start, and that the head is fine and there was a hose that wasn't tightened all the way. This was not the case because the hose to the thermostat was not tightened when I did a radiator pressure test and coolant was leaking from the heater core pipe too. They also put a few bolts on a bracket because it was loose. I drove the car in there without brake pressure so they insisted that they NEEDED to fix my brakes otherwise I would have to tow the car out. They fix my master brake cylinder/rebleed my brakes so I have proper brakes (ebrake still not fixed even though its right there.) They then call me and pretend like the car was fixed, and test drive it, when in reality all of the leaks are still present and all they did was fix the brakes and power steering bracket. So in conclusion, I left my only car here for nearly 3 weeks and got little to no communication, and then the day they said they can release the car to me they hit me with a $1600 bill. I didn't even ask for half of this stuff and they're charging me $900 JUST FOR BRAKES LOL. When I told them I wouldn't accept this ridiculous invoice they threatened to take it all off and make me tow it home, and I literally agreed to that because of how stupid this whole situation was. So I would be towing out a car that I drove in there because they did work that I did not approve. Once they realized that they would be doing even more work to take off brake master cylinder /lines on a car they already clearly didn't want to work on they magically reduced the bill by $500. Honestly I shouldn't have even paid that but I just wanted my car back. This shop is super predatory and Chris you did me very wrong because you could tell I didn't know what I was talking about. Maybe if you have an RX-7 and you want to rebuild it this is the place but PLEASE don't send your normal cars here unless you want to pay dealership prices for half assed work. Apparently the oil leak was coming from the rear main seal but I don't believe anything they said at this point. I asked them to attach my bumper which is just a few bolts and they didn't even do that. The car still idles high too. And just for the cherry on top they accidentally sent me someone elses invoice with their full address, name, and phone number, they billed this poor guy $20,000 for an NA6. Stay far away !!

High-level summary:…read more Customer service (patience, friendliness) - 5/5 Technical knowledge - 5/5 Transparency - 5/5 Review: Given my previous experience with torn bushings at 57,000 miles and consistent premature wear-and-tear on my tires - replaced every 20,000 miles or so, partially due to my lowered car with a staggered wheel arrangement and poor alignment - over the lifetime of my 2018 Tesla Model 3 Performance, I wanted to take a preemptive approach at 125,000 miles in improving and preserving the functional performance by doing a suspension refresh. After doing extensive research on MPP suspension upgrades, I reached out to TDW Auto and sent a summary of my desired scope of work, my budget, and a request for feedback on whether I had the correct approach in addressing my concerns. From Will's first response, we had seamless back-and-forth conversations over E-mail and text to clarify the current setup of my car, highlight my major concerns, address these concerns with the proper MPP upgrades, and align on my budget, must-haves, and nice-to-haves. There was never once an upsell; only cautionary words of unnecessary upgrades for my use case, which is really just the daily work commute in a lowered setup for personal aesthetic purposes. My original request included MPP front upper control arms and rear traction arms with my Unplugged Performance lowering springs, along with swapping out the front lowering control arms and rear camber arms. However, Will explained that the FUCAs and traction arms served no improved performance for commuting, and that the existing springs were more of a budget-friendly fit that compromised on long-term performance due to its reliance on Tesla stock dampers. Instead, he recommended swapping out the springs for MPP coilovers, and replacing the toe arms in conjunction with the camber arms to improve upon long-term lowered car hardware wear-and-tear. I followed up with Will after our virtual exchanges to get his opinions in person. He took me out for a test ride with me in the passenger seat, immediately identifying that my dampers were squeaking noticeably and that hard cornering at highway speeds felt bumpier than it should. Additionally, he patiently answered all my technical questions over the hour I was there, and adjusted the quotation when I made the final decisions on the suspension refresh. Will was completely transparent about pricing: he categorized the costs by the "front" and "rear," clearly highlighting the number of hours required to replace the front control arms, coilovers, and rear camber and toe arms. Alignment was included in the coilover work as well as solid front lower control arm pressing. He was even able to slot me in his 2-3 weeks' booked schedule on short notice because I wanted to complete the suspension refresh before making a drive to Canada. I picked up my car today after leaving my car overnight, and am extremely satisfied with my decision and results. Special shoutout to Mike, who I believe is the other co-founder and technician who stayed late just to work on my car to meet my schedule!
