Our friends had to take us here. We are midwesterners and they said this place has the best 'Chicago style' pizza in the area. So be it, we were happy to be their dinner dates. We stopped in at 5:30 on a Monday. (They are closed on Tuesdays. And don't forget your cash but they do offer an ATM w/fee.) There were 3 other cars in the parking lot upon arrival and the lot (and the inside) were full when we left. We seated ourselves at a table near the window and were greeted immediately by a male server and then the female server who is the owners' daughter. Very sweet lady. She brought us our beer (312 on tap, nice touch) and took our orders. We ordered 2 calzones, 1 deluxe italian sandwich and 1 lasagna. The lasagna came with choice of soup (minestrone) or salad. The rest all came with a 'side' of spaghetti and red sauce. When the lasagna and sandwich came out they both looked and smelled delicious. When the calzones came out, HOLY cow! They were about 12 inches long by 6 inches wide STUFFED with our choice of meat, tons of cheese and they happened to forget my peppers. Still good. The amount of food was unbelievable. For $12 the calzone will easily make 4 separate meals. And I still have my spaghetti. The sandwich is 2 meals plus the spaghetti. Staff was super friendly and on top of their game tonight. Extra napkins were given without having to ask for them. Drinks kept full. Working the restaurant like a boss. Both staff worked well together. The bartender took the phone orders. The kitchen worked like a fine tuned machine. We paid on the way out and our bill was $32 for 2 large beers ($5 each) and our food. The rest of the $40 was our tip. She did a great job and then she told us about her dad who passed away not too long ago from cancer. Ugh, gone at 64 I think she said was his age. My calzone would have been perfection if the cook would have remembered my peppers. I said nothing about it because although that is how I ordered it, it wasn't a deal breaker. Before we left she said "did he remember to put the peppers on there?" I said no but it was still delicious. So, I give this place a 4.5 stars but since they don't do half stars I give it a 5. I recommend this place. We had a great time. Huge amount of food. Just about perfect. Cheap for the amount of food you get. 4 stars because it's not their fault Chicago pizza is gross. Service was good, fast, friendly. Food was hot. That being said this was the grossest pizza I've ever eaten but I'm from ny/nj. After googling it, this pizza is exactly what someone from Chicago would probably want. But if you're from the tristate area and looking for pizza this is not for you. Best Chicago style pizza I've had in all of Pinellas and Hillsborough counties!!! If you like Chicago this is absolutely your place! Crust was very crisp and airy, especially around the edges where the cheese got crispy. I went with plain cheese because you can't mask a plain pizza with toppings, so it's always my benchmark. Well after 4 years we decided to give it another try. So happy we did. The food was amazing and the Service was top notch. My wife got the Pasta with vegetables and shrimp. She said everything was cooked perfect. She would have preferred the pasta cooked a bit more but that's her thing with pasta. My wife is not a fan of cooked tomatoes so she asked for the dish without them, no problem. The waitress asked if she wanted them omitted on the salad but we didn't. Sweet home Chicago! This place is Chicago style food and themed after Al Capone. Inside is full of Al Capone pictures, guns, and Chicago Police paraphernalia. The food was great. Had the Chicago style Italian beef sandwich and it was one of the best I've ever had. Got the all cheese (3 cheese) calzone and it was by far the best calzone I've ever eaten. I've had NY style calzones that were really good, but this one had the Chicago style to it.....crispy crust and more cheese than I've ever seen stuffed into a calzone. The only drawback here is that they only accept cash, so hit your bank before you go or you'll be charged to use their onsite ATM with a fee. read more

Tired of the NY style pizza that is everywhere? So was I. We finally found a thin, square cut pizza like back home. Needless to say I will only be getting pizza at Untouchables. It was so friggin good! We also had garlic bread with cheese that was good alone, but the sauce we had with it....holy cow...I wanted more bread so I could have more sauce. The food was acceptable but not great. I had the baked spaghetti. The serving was generous and the price was fair but I'm always bothered when I pay restaurant prices and then receive a product so basic that I could have made it at home as well or better. In the unlikely case that I return I'll try the pizza The reason my return is unlikely is because of their payment policy. To begin with I have a problem with cash only brick and mortar establishments. It just indicates that there's something shady going on. I pay my taxes and I expect local business to pay theirs too. When it's cash only I suspect (with no foundation in fact) that not all of the sales are being reported. But at untouchables it goes one step further. Here, there is a credit card looking machine right next to the cash register. Only it's not a credit machine, it's an"ATM". So basically you eat dinner here, you done have enough cash to pay for it and they force you to use the credit machine only instead of a standard transaction it's an ATM complete with foreign transaction fee from your own bank as well as the convenience fee that the"ATM"charges. So the $10 dinner ends up costing$15 and the restaurant is actually the beneficiary of$3 of those extras. I know they're named after a crimeland story but the untouchables were supposed to be the good guys. read more

We got there at about 9pm...they closed at 10. It wasn't that busy. They gave us ample time to look over the menu. We had the mild chicken wings, which are mild spicy with no sauce, fried zucchini and a medium white pizza with spinach. Everything was good. I think the pizza needed something else to bring the flavors out. Like maybe some garlic, parmessan and oregano mixed in with the ricotta and maybe some garlic butter around the crust. This should be a 4 or 5 star review, BUT since they only take cash the rating is a 3. Pizza was very good - probably the best we've had in 4 months in the Tampa Bay area. But when you go to pick up your order they have this minuscule little area where you literally squeeze your way between customers saddled up to the bar and some stupid pinball machine. I have driven by this place countless times, and finally decided to give it a try for a Friday night dinner with friends. The outside is not too impressive, and the inside was small and plain. It seemed that this place a favorite of the locals, and does quite a lot of carryout orders. We ordered starters for the table... fried ravioli, and fried veggies. Both were very yummy, and went well with the red wine. We ordered lasagna, stuffed shells and steak hoagie. The baked dinners came with a couple of trigger-fingers (warm bread sticks) and a choice of soup or salad. The hoagie came with a side of spaghetti. The lasagna was SUPER CHEESY (in a good way), and all meals were portioned well. While I really don't have a complaint about the food, I would like to mention that the red sauce is a tad sweeter than I am used to (not unpleasant), and is probably a regional thing. I hear that their pizza is 'to-die-for', so we will be back to explore more of their menu. The prices are exceptional, although you do have to remember cash, (not a deal breaker). My only tiny complaint, is that they only offer one red wine, (Barefoot in a single-serve plastic bottle). The place is great though, and has a huge parking lot. Untouchables is a great little restaurant somewhat off the beaten path in Largo. It's a family-run restaurant that has been around for close to 15 years - at least that's how long I've known it to be in its current location. They specialize in pizza and pasta, and they do what they do very well. I've eaten in, and also gotten food to go (carry out). You can tell that everything is made to order, and there's no pre-made food here. The calzones are big, fat rolls of cheesy, meaty, saucy goodness. I've also had the veal parmigiana, which was AWESOME. They use real veal, and are not skimpy about the portions. The veal is tender and very flavorful, complemented nicely by melted mozarella and very tasty red sauce. The service we had was good - very friendly - and the decor of the restaurant is one-of-a-kind. I definitely recommend Untouchables for lunch or dinner fare. My only word of warning is that this is a cash-only establishment, so hit the ATM before you order or go! read more

We had a large Godfather deep dish pizza as well as jalapeño poppers and the fried onion appetizer. This was Sicilian deep dish, which I gather is different from Chicago-style (what I'm used to, having lived there) and was essentially a pan pizza. I love pan pizza, so I was excited; however, I do not love sweet pizza sauces, and this was super sweet. I even heard another table remarking about how sweet it was just as I was getting disappointed. :/ The theming is over-whelming. Pictures, newspaper articles, etc... litter the walls. It was so much that it went from being interesting and neat to overwhelming and cumbersome. The stained glass (Tiffany) overhang lights were nice and provided the perfect amount of light. The service? Meh. Even though they were definitely not slammed, we had two different waitresses that both seemed to want to "deal with us" rather than interact and seem friendly. This is what we just called pizza in Chicago. Not pan, not thick, not stuffed, not thin (by that I mean the saltine cracker thin) just what we would call "pizza". Italian beef really reminded me of the giant pans we would have at large family gatherings made by a family member. Ok Pizza - bit $$$ Ordered 2 small pizzas to taste a variety: The Windy City White (no sauce, ricotta, provolone and mozz) & the Godfather Special. Didn't really care for the Windy City White as the ricotta cheese threw me off but my friend loves cheese and he LOVED it. I preferred the Godfather special, quality toppings, thin crust, great!! Both pizzas were a bit on the greasy side but other than that it was fine. Would have liked some bread & dipping sauce before our meal but nothing was offered. Surprising for an Italian joint. The portions are large and the prices are well below that of Fine Dining Italian restaurants in our area which this is not, nor does it pretend to be. We stopped in because it has a sign that says "Voted best pizza in Tampa Bay by City Search". We eat a LOT of pizza, and even pizza that is not great still usually isn't too bad. This is an exception. It was inedible. The sauce tasted like someone poured a cup full of sugar in it. I don't mind sauce a bit on the sweet side, but this was way too sugary. Let me begin by saying that I've always been impressed by the food quality and the size of portions at Untouchables. However, today was another story. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza for pick up. We were told it would be a 45 minute wait. We picked up the pizza in 40 minutes and got it home (literally a 5 min drive) to find a tepid thin crust with 8 pepperonis over the entire pizza. Love this place, the food and the people! Really great theme of Chicago when you walk in. The staff is always friendly and warm. My favorite dish to order is the chef salad. Lots of fresh lettuce and the salad dressing is amazing. THE CALZONE .. is huge. It is literally as big a a head and taste amazing. Buttery bread sticks come with every meal. You can't beat the cheap prices but make sure you have cash or a check... or you can get money back from the debit card machine. My lunch is always under $10.00. You can't get a fresh salad with meat on it and a drink for that price... and be full. The bathroom is super clean and the theme of the 30's in Chicago continues. Love this place! read more

Pizza is always so good! Haven't sat in the restaurant in a couple years but still have ordered pick up. Everyone is always friendly and prices are reasonable. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because tonight when I got home my pizza order was wrong. We ordered breadsticks, large half mushroom and sausage half cheese pizza and a small pepperoni. The large pizza was all sausage and mushroom and for some reason had pieces of ham randomly on it too, not sure where that came from. I don't like ham so I didn't eat the pizza I had wanted but I ate the pepperoni and my family ate the other pizza. They ended up loving it so the slight mess up won't cause us to not go back.
