This guy is not trustworthy, I setup an appointment with him today at 9, it's currently 10am and he won't respond or answer. After looking further into him I found that he used to have a twitter but it's been deleted. His website doesn't have a working phone number. He has a Facebook account with one review that describes how he conned another person out of his money. I'm not sure how he has so many positive reviews on google but it definitely doesn't reflect the experience I have had. He did prompt me to pay before coming out but I'm so glad I didn't. Please be careful and do extensive research before hiring someone based on google reviews. My guess is he probably has friends and relatives leaving phony reviews for him. read more

Martin replaced the front struts and shocks on my truck. While doing this he did not attach the tie rod to the steering knuckle correctly and my truck lost the ability to steer while driving with a 1 year old in the car. He charged me $500 after initially asking for $600. He said it was most likely because my bearing was old (meaning I would have to get a new part and pay him for more work) so I took it to a shop to ensure that was the isssue before spending more money. After getting it repaired at a shop in bee cave, they assured me that my bearing had nothing to do with what happened and his work was the only cause of my truck losing steering and that anything over $300 for the job he did was too high. After telling him what happened he responded "No warranty when customers provide parts, sorry buddy" even though the parts I provided had nothing to do with what happened, and offered no refund whatsoever. [[HIGHLIGHT]]During my first phone call with him, his first question was about how much I wanted to spend instead of telling me what he charges for the job requested.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] At one point even said "sometimes with fixing cars, you don't know why something worked but it just works" should've asked him to leave right there. He tells me he's on his way the next day so I head over when I get there he is already working on my car and says he's already done and needs the rest of the payment. He's professional, knowledgeable and fair. He was very thorough with my vehicle and treated as his own. If your in a bind right now reading this...stop and call Martin. Here's what happened. My truck wouldn't start in a parking lot on Thursday morning. I changed the battery myself and the truck still wouldn't start. When I heard one single click I knew it had to be the starter. I called Martin around 11am that day and he said he could fit me in. He showed up a few hours later. He was very professional and kind. He puts you at ease right away by being calm and knowledgeable. I knew my truck was in good hands. He ran a diagnostic and confirmed the starter needed to be changed and he found a leak in a thermostat hose that was giving me tons of problems. Since it was late in the afternoon he asked if he could come out and take care of everything in the morning. That worked for me. Martin came to my house. I described the problem (jammed broken spark plug with a stuck extraction bit inside). He says that he can get it out, said that he had the thin that he needed for the repair, but he just had to get them. He quoted a price, of which I paid half. Afte an hour, i inquired about his return to start the work. He cla he was "in his way". That was Saturday evening. He never returned. After some repeated texts from me, he became angry and very disrespectful, calling me "stupid", and using a homophobic slur, falsely cla that he would still do the work. After such an unprofessional and disrespectful tirade which angered me very much, I called police and filed a report. Excellent!!! Magically he was available within a few hours of my call and came to where I was. He gave me a solid quote with no extra charges or surprises at the end of the service. Extremely cost efficient in my opinion. Quick service, reliable, honest, knowledgeable, and gave me some tips for my future purchase of parts. I already had the part and just needed the change/Service completed. He ran some tests and (of course) the test came back as if it was semi- ok. I've never had the kind of experience with a car mechanic where I want to go out and recommend them to everyone I know, but working with Up and Auto has changed that. It was the only shop to answer when I called a few mobile shops after 6 on a Friday (all advertising 24/7 service), and Martin was at my location within half an hour. Martin knows what he's doing--it's impossible to fake being truly good at what you do, and this guy is a car master. He's done an equally impressive job on both my 2011 Subaru and my 2002 Mercedes (which he fixed up like new for me to sell to a private party that same day). He's thorough in his assessment, and will take the time to answer any questions you have along the way. He doesn't try to upsell by overcomplicating or convoluting an issue, so by the time you talk cost you're not hit with a surprise you weren't expecting. You can't take such a confident and honest approach if you're not able to really stand behind your work. Summary: Working with Martin is like being able to call up your car genius buddy when your car starts smoking to do you a favor and check out the issue vs. having to take it in to [insert traditional retailer here] where you never really know what you're getting/how much it might put you out.
