I used Up&Go for years until my cleaning lady told me that she was not being paid. It turned out that for several months Up&Go was not charging my credit card. They then asked for me to pay via Zelle to an unrelated business and claimed they could not take credit cards. My friend who I had recommended the service to had the same issue. I think most of us used the service as we thought it was an ethical alternative. But if they cannot even do the basics of running a business and are not paying the cleaners it should be avoided. read more

I am extremely disappointed with their service. I had used them four or so times, and each time they missed some elements, but I was fine with it because it's a women's company and I wanted to support it. However this time they broke the in built soap dish in the bath tubband they didn't inform me. I noticed it only after they left & they had the audacity to ask for more payment. I had a Fresh Start Cleaning with Erica G. and Estefania Q. a couple of years ago, and I've had them come every 3 weeks ever since. They are lovely, work hard, and make my apartment sparkle. They are also appreciative of my animals and take the time to pet my new pup Luca when they come in (after he barks and barks at their "intrusion"), and he solicits their petting. They were lovely with my dog Benji, too, who was blind and diabetic and passed a year ago. They really do wonders on my floors, especially, which are always a mess with my 3 cats and a dog. I am happy to use them through Up & Go, as I know I am paying a living wage. It is a luxury for me to have regular cleanings, but I cannot do the work myself. Erica and Estefania are so sweet, conscientious, and work very, very hard. I cannot recommend them more highly. read more

The lack of care and accountability from this cleaning co-op is astounding. I had a few major issues with the cleaning service (they forgot to clean the fridge, poor cleaning of the ac units, used some of my cleaning items and then denied it, broke a dog bed and left a choking hazard under her dog blanket) but the worse part was the communication around these issues. Ideally, you want to work with a group or co-op you can trust. The dishonesty, even when presented with proof, was blatant. When I spoke with the cleaning professionals, I gave clear instructions, and upon my return, I saw that very few of them were followed. Items were moved that I specifically asked them not to touch, they hid a screw under my dog's blanket, which could've resulted in an emergency vet visit, broke a dog bed and then denied it and essentially ghosted me when I showed the bed model and photos of it assembled just the day before. You pay for cleaning services to reduce your day to day hassle, not add onto them. The cleaning professionals did a decent job cleaning the basic areas of my apartment floors and bathroom, but the cons far outweighed the pros. Please find some other co-op that prides itself in care, attention to detail, and thoroughness. There are co-op's in nyc who do an excellent job and don't break or damage any of your property, Up & Go just isn't one of them. read more

Everything was clearly explained, and the final cost was within range of the quoted prices, even though the job took quite a bit longer than estimated (I'd expected this as the apartment likely hadn't been cleaned in a decade). I used to use Handy for my 1 bedroom, but decided to give Up&Go a chance after being disappointed with the results. Two women came to my apartment and immediately asked for a step stool to clean the tops of my cabinets- I have to say I was shocked! They cleaned everything so thoroughly- wiping down surfaces and cleaning the corners and baseboards of my apartment. The cleaning was more expensive but well worth it for the work done. I also love the ethics of the company and will continue to use them in the future. read more

Up & Go should be commended for creating a platform that allows cleaning partners to earn a living wage. But I fear their customer service support team could be undermining their efforts to encourage repeat business. When I called to find out why my cleaner arrived two hours before her scheduled time, and to find out where she put something in my apartment after her visit, my questions were met with unhelpful non-answers that bordered on insults. Customer service also assured me that the cleaner spoke English when in fact she spoke none. My overall experience was very disappointing and extraordinarily frustrating. Too bad. read more

I started using Up & Go recently and found Cirenia and Norma (from Brightly) to be stellar. My home has never been so clean and they seemed to really put a lot of care into it. They were smart and so pleasant to work with. I gave them tons of regular business and they seemed to have my home down to a science after a few weeks. Unfortunately, I was told that they didn't have enough time in their schedule and I was assigned a new team with only 2 days notice. It's very disappointing and I hope the new team can learn to meet their standards. I wonder how Brightly plans to grow their business without being able to cover the clients who want to hire them. Really wanted to like this company as it is women owned and operated. However I had Teresa come to clean on all 3 occasions and she took 5 hours to clean our 2 bed, 2 bath apartment every time. I had to empty out the trash twice and only on last occasion did she take it out when she saw me do about to do it. I can't say the place was left spotless as our apartment is fairly clean anyway. It was what you would expect. Super high cost of $176. Not worth it. Will look elsewhere and do not recommend! Customer service person, Yeslie, did not address matter and just let repeat business go. Just had my first ever cleaning and my studio looks HUGE and I haven't seen it that clean since we moved in! Linda (from Hilda's company) was AMAZING. I added the fridge to my order, which looks brand new inside and out. She found a SUPER moldy bag of bag bread ends somewhere, yuck (and shame on me) because she took everything off each surface before wiping it down. Took out the trash, and even moved furniture to sweep and mop. Linda was so thorough she wiped down the toilet wand cleaner, LOL!!! I love the fact that the website is coop of small (mostly women, mostly minority) owned businesses and that they only take 5% of the company's earnings to run the platform. So glad my husband said no to Handy (who treats their cleaners terribly, taking half their earnings) forcing me to find this gem of a company! Highly recommended. Unfortunately I had a terrible experience with Up & Go. First, I waited for the cleaning professional to show and they never did, they also never called. I was late to work as a result. I rescheduled with a different cleaning professional for the next day. This person showed up 25 minutes early (not ideal when it's 8:30AM and I have two kids to bring to school- I almost missed her.). The cleaning professional herself was lovely and kind. After she left I saw that the toilet was not cleaned- it was quite dirty in fact. I reached out to the company who reached out to the cleaning professional; I was told that the toilet was definitely cleaned. The company sent photos to me of my own bathroom which the cleaning professional took without consent. Company stated photos are always taken by their cleaners. I sent my own photo of the toilet (under the lid) which was clearly quite dirty. I was then told the cleaner was "not able to remove the stains even after trying sprays.". I sprayed the area myself twice and the stains immediately started disappearing before I could even wipe it down. I then sent this photo and info to the company. The third and final excuse I received was that the cleaning professional "spent time on other parts of the apartment.". I have other photos of dusty shelves in my living room and beyond. They could offer me only a 5% discount. I am not someone who expects a deep clean for a non deep clean price- but at the VERY LEAST I expect the toilet to be clean when I spend $158 on a cleaning. Will never use or recommend Up and Go again. read more

I decided to use Up & Go (Brightly Port Richmond) because it was a cooperative and I was thinking that they would take more pride in their work since they are owners as well. I just had the "fresh start" cleaning service from Up & Go. My apartment had not been thoroughly cleaned since before the pandemic. Maria and Hilda cleaned every nook and cranny, including all the hard-to-reach places that hadn't been touched for more than two years. And they didn't just clean AROUND the various items I had piled on the floor of the living room--they moved the piles, cleaned everything that was in them and then stacked them neatly. Bookcases, kitchen cupboards, baker's shelves full of pantry items and cookware, even the coffee maker! I will be using them on a regular basis from now on! Very, very happy! read more

I hired this service on recommendation from my daughter because it is a COOP. My experience was not even one start worth. Cleaning lady arrived with very sad looking vacuum and handful of supplies. I opted for these two services because I thought my vacuum and cleaning supplies will not be good enough for deep cleaning. Person who came to clean was extremely slow. When I called the customer service after 2 hours that she is taking way too long to clean and has only cleaned the kitchen so far, their answer was thay my house must be very dirty. For the context My apartment is in brand new building and is being cleaned regularly. I requested them to have her just clean the bathrooms and vacuum the living room and leave. In the middle of the cleaning her vacuum broke which they charged 16 dollars for/per service.I understand that everyone works at their own speed and things can break. I would not have been so upset if customer service would have handled it. All services can have good and bad days but how customer service handles it can change the experience. read more
