Oh... WOW! Brownwood has gone from not having any good bbq to finally having GREAT bbq. I can't wait for his main restaurant to open. His ribs are some of the best, if not THE best I've ever eaten. Love this place. There's a reason junior has been on BBQ Pitmasters multiple times. I've never had anything bad Brisket, chicken, pork belly, all great. I've yet to get the beef ribs but they look great as well. The sides you gotta get the Mac and cheese. The building on Washita I see being too small really quick, but looks like there's room to grow. Hardly any smoke or bark on the brisket sandwich. Brioche bun was stale. I believe it was toasted but literally tasted stale and old. BBQ sauce was thin and heavy on the vinegar. Brisket had a lot of pepper, which I do like and had a decent flavor. Way to expensive. The board showed $14 for a brisket sandwich and I couldn't see the pricing for the drinks. Came out to $19.44 for a tea and sandwich, no sides. I inquired about the pricing on the sandwich receipt, which had changed to $14.57 and was told it was and added charge because I used a credit card. I guess it also added it to my tea, which was $3.38+tax!! For a tea! So, overall, some may like that style of BBQ. I don't. My hard earned money just went up in smoke. read more

The food is amazing! We tried the chicken, ribs, and brisket. The brisket was my favorite and can be ordered "lean" or "fatty". You will get "fatty" if you don't specify. The bark is really tasty and the meat falls apart. The chicken we got was thigh & leg. I'm not sure if they offer breast. It had the perfect tenderness and taste. The ribs passed the "bite test" with flying colors. Very tasty! We met Junior and he was very nice. The entire staff was great. We arrived shortly before 11am and were the first ones there, but it got busy quick. As of now, they are open Friday and Saturday from 11-3, but I'm pretty sure they run out of some of their items before they close, so get there early! The hatch chile mac & cheese is excellent! The only reason for 4 stars is no indoor seating...pretty hot in the Summer and you have to contend with flies. read more

The brisket was delicious don't get me wrong, but they definitely need a more lunch friendly menu since the hours are 11-3. There was no option for a 1 meat 2 meat, or 3 meat plate with a side and drink only meat by the pound and at $24 a pound for brisket its pretty expensive then you have to by sides and drinks separate and the drink is a very small one.i think if they come up with better menu options and better portion sizes it will do much better, $13 for 1 slice of brisket and a small drink and side is kinda crazy. I hope to see them change it up since it's still new then they'd see me a lot more. read more

The portions on the 2-meat plate are large, so even though it's $20, it can easily make for two meals or a split between 2 people. Ribs - holy cow were these amazing! Fall-off-the-bone tender (be ready with plenty of paper towels) with great flavor. Will be going back again just on the ribs alone. Brisket - pretty good, but in the same league as KD's, which still makes this the best in town. Hatch Mac & cheese was pretty good, same with the beans. The sauce is very good, and has a nice zing of flavor - not really hot, but a nice addition to the meat. Everything on the menu is full of flavor and uniquely spiced, even the beans are packed full of flavor! Junior and his staff are friendly and take the time to come out and talk with you. A plate may seem a little pricey until you start eating then, you realize it's worth every penny! The only negative I can say about it is that it's hard to know when it's open.
