Worst experience ever! This company is deceitful about it's returns. I bought a chair. It doesn't work for me but to disassemble, you need to use a hammer leading to possible damage which the company will charge me for. I emailed and talked with them but they don't care. No exceptions despite the fact that there is a clear video showing that the only way to disassemble is to hit the chair with a hammer. What kind of company sells a product that they don't stand behind from assembly to disassembly. I'm taking action because clearly, these people don't care about their customers. TLDR: Uplift will not exchange a faulty leg on a 1 week old desk. They will not honor their 15 year warranty and I do not recommend them to a new standing desk user. I don't often make comments like this but I had a recent Uplift Desk experience that has bothered me. I decided to go with Uplift desks mostly because of the warranty and customer service experience that some spoke of, while I understand they are overpriced, quality and customer experience is important to me so I did not mind. My desk arrived less than a week ago and the right side leg was faulty out of the box it makes a knocking sound when lowered and my desk shakes back and forth. My girlfriend who shared my office labeled it as "annoying" without me telling her there was an issue and I agreed. I contacted their customer service team and provided them with pictures and a video that they require for proof, in the video you can clearly hear the knocking sound but it is difficult to tell the desk was shaking (filmed on my iphone). Here is their response: - "Good morning, I do appreciate the help. The warranty team did not notice an excess amount of movement or sounds. They did recommend if on carpet to loosen the Leveling Caps on the feet to give more support with the padding, and to possibly tighten the feet and legs. We do expect some movement in the desk. Please let me know if you have any questions or other details to share." I adjusted the feet and the shaking and knocking persisted. I found it to still be an issue prevalent enough to bother my girlfriend and I as I transitioned the desk. I sent the video to my brother who said that his uplift desk did not make a similar knocking noise and shake while being lowered. I asked the customer service rep if the leg was covered under warranty as I am looking for a leg exchange not a new free leg. This was there follow up: - "Good morning, The leg does have some sound as it lowers fully. The warranty team was unable to capture anything outside normal movement and sounds with the prior video. If you have any other details please let me know and I can help send it to the team to review. Please let me know if you have any questions." They charge a premium price and do not offer premium customer service or a premium product seemingly. I am just looking to swap my leg for another and was willing to cover shipping but their team will not cover a week old desk under their 15 year warranty, if you are considering uplift I would absolutely not recommend their company and if you have questions before you purchase PM me I would be happy to answer. This is a very good desk . I'm happy I got it . I feel like inside of a space command center . A few things left a bad taste with this company . First of all I ordered 2 monitor bracket mounts and one in the middle laptop mount . I've never received a laptop mount . It never came . The board had a little chip when I pulled it out of package and I emailed a photo but I don't really care about it , the desk is great even with that . And the last thing , assembly, which was very expensive was never performed. I was given a time frame in the morning and the handyman showed up hours after that , maybe 4 hours after the end of the window. By the time he showed up I found somebody to assemble the desk . I spoke about this with I think Emily and somebody was supposed to contact me or at least send the laptop bracket but nothing happend. It is a pretty expensive desk , with all the equipment I added to the order it came to around 15 hundred . read more

Don't believe the good reviews. This company has flawed products. I've purchased the V2 standing desk and a monitor arm from them total ~$1000. The standing desk doesn't go up or down so they send me replacement legs. Great, I thought it was a one-off issue. The thing gives me the E08 error a couple months later. Now I'm beyond my refund period and they won't give me one. I've spent countless hours with their complex troubleshooting procedures. This product is inherently FLAWED. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Similar case with the monitor arm. It doesn't support the weight it advertises. So ridiculous. To top it off, the customer service reps are cocky and not helpful. Such companies shouldn't exist. I spent half a year looking at and considering standing desks. In the end, Uplift Desk was really the only company that had what I needed. I ended up getting a custom top L-shaped desk that was 80" for the main portion by 72" for the return, I could have gone larger but I don't have space that will easily accommodate it. When I ordered the desk I was told that custom desks were taking about 4 weeks to deliver, but they ended up getting it there slightly faster. The delivery truck texted me when they were about half an hour away so I could be certain that I was ready for them. The desk itself came packaged in so many layers of cardboard and cling wrap that I don't think it could have been damaged if they tried and it was in great condition when it showed up. A few things about the desk: 1. They warn you about this, but pay attention: you NEED 2 people to assemble the desk. I was able to get about 80% done on my own, but when it came to flipping the desk and getting it upright, it's just too heavy and large to do on your own. 2. I recommend going ahead and getting the keypad with memory buttons. During my regular day I often switch between standing and sitting, so having those positions on a button that I can push is super handy. 3. There are a number of "freebies" that you get when ordering the desk. I got the hammock that hangs from the bottom of the desk, not because I thought I would use it, but it was just a free item and nothing else in that spot really called out to me. Even though it's a bit short for my 6'+ tall body, it's actually pretty comfortable and I'm usually in it for at least a few minutes for breaks and stuff every day. The standing pad is also recommended just to give you a little extra cushion as you stand throughout the day. 4. The range of height that the desk has is really good. It goes much higher to the point that I'm sure someone a couple of feet taller than me could use it without problem. 5. I did purchase some accessories with the desk including the slim drawer (would definitely buy again), the memory controller (yep), and the advanced cable management (for my setup it was mostly unnecessary, but it will really depend on what cables you're working with), the privacy panel ( I'm not a huge fan of the way it looks, but I would probably still get it again because it's handy to just put your excess cables in and not worry about cable management for them.), and the 8-outlet mountable surge protector (highly recommended, mounts directly to the desk frame in whatever orientation is best for you). He ended up not liking the keyboard attachment so we tried to return it, but we were outside the 30 day return policy (it had been 45 days). 30 days is utterly ridiculous for such an expensive and intricate product. Terrible customer support. Called multiple times regarding my order, which I placed and paid for almost 4 weeks ago and was supposed to be shipped on 5/5/2020. No updates, they kept saying that they are overwhelmed with other orders. Understandable considering the circumstances with people WFT. However, this is not a reason to treat customers like garbage. First of all, I don't write up many reviews if any, but this is something that I feel was necessary. I've been researching standing desks for a few months now on Amazon, but the size of the desks for sale on Amazon were a bit too big or small despite the price point meeting the amount that I had in mind. I have always wanted to purchase an Uplift standing desk because of the craftmanship and quality. So I decided to browse the desks available on Uplift and fortunately I found a desk that fit the nook in my house where I worked perfectly! I decided to move forward with purchasing my standing desk at Uplift because of the warranty, customization and options when ordering the desk. There were some post Labor Day promotions that when ordering online, I couldn't add while on the site. I decided to contact customer support and Jamie C helped create a quote that included the promotions that were available. I confirmed that everything was to my liking and was able to order my desk through the paypal link that was in the email. Customer service and ease of purchase was excellent! Fast forward a few weeks later. I received my desk and assembled it with no issues, but I did notice a broken wheel and a few dents on the table top which I had documented just to let Uplift know that there were some issues mainly not to void anything with my warranty. After emailing Jamie to help document the issues with the delivery, Jamie provided some options to help accommodate my concerns which I was not expecting. Thank you Jamie for your help and providing the reassurance that despite spending more than I had originally planned that I made the right choice with going with Uplift. TLDR: AVOID! Terible customer service! They're charging $426.74 for refusing delivery of a shipment they shouldn't have made. The customer service provided by Jessica, the Sales Team Lead & training supervisor has been terrible. This is the first time I've felt animosity from a customer service representative. Here is the story. I place my order on December 9th. From their website I see that shipping takes three days. "Great!" I say to myself, "I'll get the desk by Friday before I leave on my Holiday Vacation on the 18th". Next, I got an email titled "RESPONSE REQUIRED". "Dang", I thought, "I'm not sure I'll get this by Friday. Maybe I should just cancel? No, it'll be fine, the email says response required. So, I have time to decide." The email contained many questions that would made unsure if I'd be able to handle the delivery. So, I asked "I live in a residential apartment and ordered one desk. Is all of this necessary?" I never confirmed that the shipping method was accurate. Yet, they shipped the desk anyways on December 11th. Then, I received a call on Monday, December 16th, two days before my flight about delivery. I could not take delivery as that would require my taking of work, the day before I leave which was not possible. So, I refused shipment. I communicated this to Jessica, the sales team lead. Throughout my interaction with her, I felt like there was some animosity towards me and she was overwhelmingly aggressive. For example in our customer service exchange (email photo attached) she said, "The cost for refusing your shipment will be $426.74. Cheers," That 'Cheers' is very passive aggressive. This is all unfortunate because the desk shouldn't have shipped in the first place because I was told, through email, "We are unable to process and ship your order until you reply to this email and confirm that the shipping method is accurate." I never confirmed that the shipping method was accurate. The desk should have never shipped. And I should not be charged 75% the cost of a standing desk for a delivery I could not make, for a shipment, that shouldn't have shipped. 0/5 stars. Terrible customer service experience. TL;DR - Final product damaged upon receipt and Uplift is refusing adequate reimbursement - Do not pay for White Glove assembly, there's no guarantee they actually know how to set up these desks and Uplift won't accept liability Full Breakdown: Since the desk cost so much and I wanted it set up properly, I paid extra for White Glove assembly services; since the desk was so large, it had to be shipped via freight and there was an additional fee for White Glove delivery. I had to reach out to customer service several times to get any updates on the status of my order. When the desk was assembled by the White Glove team (two men), I assumed everything was intact and in working order (since ya know, I paid for it to be done correctly by "professionals"). It wasn't. After attempting to add additional cords to the cable management tray under the desk and wasn't able to, I looked up photos for how it should look - it wasn't close to being correct. Not only had the men attached the cord management tray in the wrong spot but they also DRILLED EXTRA HOLES in my solid pheasantwood desktop to make their mistake "work". After removing the cord management tray from the wrong place and realizing there were extra holes made, I also noticed they used two different kinds of screws to attach the tray and one had wood glue remnants stuck on it. It was one thing after the other. I sent a customer service inquiry about this as soon as I noticed. It's been back and forth for over two weeks trying to reach a solution and the individual I'm emailing with has been unsympathetic from the start. Here are the options I've been given: - Return: If I want to return the desk, I'll receive free shipping labels but I have to disassemble it myself and figure out how to get it shipped back to them (remember it had to be shipped out via freight due to its size) - Partial Refund: Uplift has offered a partial refund of approx. 24% of the desktop cost or 11.5% of the full purchase amount - Replacement: I can opt to have a replacement desktop (which isn't available until February) with free assembly (I assume by the same White Glove team that didn't know how to assemble the desk and consequently damaged it) I can't afford to make large purchases like this (I actually used an insurance reimbursement from water damages in my apartment to buy this desk)... No desk is worth this kind of hassle and poor customer service, please take my experience as a warning to shop elsewhere! read more

I couldn't be happier with the quality of the desk, the excellent customer service, very quick shipping, and the "wow" factor of the entire transaction. When you order, you start with the basic desk and customize it to your liking, much like customizing a computer when you order it. It took 4 days to get the desk. Assembly was easy but you definitely need two people to turn it over after it's assembled. The desk works beautifully, looks smart, and I really dig the accessories that were sent along with the desk. A side note, before I ordered the desk I had a brief chat with an Uplift team member. I ordered over $2k worth of goods including a $750 mahogany desktop. The parts and desktop came with the desktop severely dented in the center of the top of the desk. Obviously unacceptable and unusable too. I called immediately and the customer service rep made it out like they were doing me a favor by processing my return in under 48 hours. There was no accountability for delivery at all. Nor was there any consideration that I was instructed to repackage the 100+ lb desktop in a way that it wouldn't receive damage on the return trip. First of all, the box was damaged when I got it and it took more damage trying to open it around this heavy piece of wood. Not an easy task. I'm not big. It's almost as heavy as I am. Since my home office was dismantled in order to fit all the boxes in, I was now out of a place to work for a week. I asked for a rush shipment but they said they couldn't even though their website says that's an option. A week later the new desktop came. This time it was dented in almost the same spot but less severe and a little more towards the back. I didn't open it completely as I was already afraid I would have to repackage it to their specifications. What that meant was the edges around the desk were still wrapped in some pretty solid cardboard but that packing material was all fine and showed no signs of having been damaged during shipping, so I figured it was fine. I talked to a different customer services rep and they agreed to a refund for a portion of the desk and since I didn't want to deal with having to repackage, return, and wait another week for another desk I was not confident would come undamaged I agreed. It was only after fully unwrapping the desk that I saw the damage that had been done at the factory to the edges. There's a major chip that I'll have to file and glue as well as some big dents. I sent an email to the same rep with pictures as I was not intent on returning the desktop but they never responded. So, the mechanics of the desk work nicely for the raising and lowering but I would strongly advise against getting a quality desktop from them. Stick to the lighter ones since you'll have a hell of a time dealing with their mistakes and you'll get little help from them. Personally, I won't order another thing from them. The sad thing is, if they just took responsibility for their shipping, (they use FedEx but they are the ones who chose that partner), and handled the customer service halfway decent, I'd be on my third and hopefully, intact desktop and probably be a happy customer. read more

They have TERRIBLE customer service. Sure, if you stay on hold for 30 minutes a perky person will pick up the phone and tell you things. But there is no follow through. They are a band of flakes. They screwed up my order and I had to wait a month for my desk. Then they sent the wrong desk. Then they ignored emails for weeks - after assuring I would get a prompt response. I have been promised a call from a manager for over a month (I expect it will never happen). The desks are fine- but there are comparable competitor desks out there. I've never been to this store in person but I did talk to Mitch S. in an online chat on UpLiftDesk.com. This was one of the best customer support experiences and purchase experiences I've had with an online company. Mitch was very knowledgable about the products his company offered. At my request he even took photos of the desks they had on the show room floor so I could see what the types of wood looked like in-person. This was important to me because I was looking at an expensive purchase and things can look different in person versus a photoshopped image that's online. He was also very quick to put together a quote and extremely easy to talk to and work with. I highly recommend UpLift/Human Solution to anyone who intends to buy high-end office equipment. They are very responsive over email and the customer support is top-notch. They also stand by their product and will offer appropriate compensation if anything gets damaged in shipping. The top was scratched during shipment and the customer service rep offered a partial refund ($125) for the aesthetic issues. After less than 3 months cracks are appearing along the entire curved edge of the desktop. When I tried to have customer service resolve the issue they want me to give them back the initial partial refund for the original scratch and the just send me a new top to install myself. I wish I would have read the yelp reviews before ordering. I too am facing inexplicable delays with the shipping of my desk. When initially ordering on 9/2 the website clearly indicated, and as still indicated the 80x30 desk is in stock. Fast forward to a week later and my order still shows status 'awaiting fulfillment'. I called customer service, and they of course blamed it on a 'vendor' related issue. They promised to update my order status with the updated information on my actual expected ship date..and of-course this did not happen. Honestly, from a legal perspective it's viable to sue the company for false advertising and making misleading statements on their website. Customers are being falsely mislead to believe they are ordering an in stock item with a shipping turnaround of 3-5 days. When in actuality the item is not available. So we have a situation where consumers are paying for non-tangible product. Companies like this need to be sued to get their act together. If Uplift cant get their affairs in order soon, I am going to proceed with legal action. I will update this review upon my research with the appropriate agencies to contact, and legal routes available for all who have been wronged by this companies unethical business practice UPDATE (9/17) I called customer service every day this week. And every single day they assured my the order was shipping by EOD, and I would be receiving an email. Clearly they were lying just to get me off the phone. I'm going to be filing a BBB complaint first thing in the morning. This company needs to be rated an F. I urge everyone else to check out the BBB site. It seems they have someone who monitors the site and responds. Next steps after the BBB complaint is going to be a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission for Uplifts Unfair and Deceptive business practices. I just wanted to take a minute and thank you for all your help. The desk is beautiful! It was easy to set up, though it did take two people, it took only about 20 minutes to do. Everyone who sees it comments on the beauty of the wood. More (ok, just as) important for me it is improving my desk work in every way. Walking on it puts thousands of extra steps in my day with literally no effort. Even when sitting, my desk is now exactly the right height for me and the reduction in fatigue is noticeable. I was in the market for an ergonomic desk chair and an occupational therapist made a few chair suggestions based on my needs and recommended I check out both The Human Solution and Relax the Back. When I walked into The Human Solution I was casually greeted and was left alone to look around. They have the office equipment they sell on site so you can test them out before making a purchase. I asked Mike Moody, the sales associate that assisted me, a couple questions and they were answered honestly and directly. Why is this notable? In shopping for this chair at a competitor I felt like I was shopping for a car instead of a chair. The Human Solution also had better prices on their floor models than Relax the Back. I purchased a "like" new discounted floor model and with a doctor's letter was able to get the chair tax free. Mike provided great customer service and the purchasing process was pain free. UPLIFT Desk & Human Solution - HumanScale Freedom Chair with headrest (in burnt orange). - Furniture Stores Near Me - Austin, Texas

First, the red cedar is gorgeous- the photos really don't do it justice. Unfortunately, cedar is a VERY soft wood. If you drop something (e.g. your phone) on the desk, it will create an indent. This works really well to create a "worn-in" look to the desk but you need to have great care with the wood. Setup for the L-shaped desk (right return) was fairly straightforward with the upliftDesk gear and directions. Because of the soft wood, follow the recommendation of two people to lift and flip components to minimize damaging the wood in any way. I suspect things are easier when you have a single panel vs. the dual panel for L-Shaped desks. The joining of the two boards is a little bit tricky -- it's a type of connection where you need to tighten a nut to join the wood. Given the soft nature of the wood, it needs to be super tight and there's not a lot of room for standard tools. As for the build.... unfortunately, after 2 months with the desk, the far right leg of the return seems to be at a slightly awkard angle. There's definitely a gap where the leg joins the wood. Two screws attaching the long crossbar to the wood have fallen off from underneath the desk. The screw just stripped right off the wood because the wood is too soft. The source of this stress seems to be a combination of the joint between two large panels of soft wood, the weight of the wood itself and having inadequate screws for the type of wood. I'm not a wood worker, but it seems like you need a better joining mechanism and better screws to account for the wood compressing from movement or use. Also, after 2 months of use, I find myself encountering the dreaded E07 error where the leg heights of the three legs are *slightly* out of balance and I have to "reset" the legs. I do this a couple of times a week now. I'm sure that doesn't help the stress on the far right leg of the desk. I tried emailing support but unfortunately, not very helpful. While their offer to send more screws is nice, it will not address the issue of soft wood and inadequate support build for the soft wood. I *WOULD NOT* recommend anybody purchase the red cedar wood for an L-Shaped desk. You might have better luck with a harder wood (eg. walnut) or if you really want the red cedar, stick with a single pane desk. read more

I purchased a custom uplift desk in January - as advertised, it took 4 months for delivery. While the desk is nice and works very well, each of my (many) customer service interactions fell far below my expectations. Emails were not responded to, phone calls were not returned... I was also initially told that installation was included with the delivery - apparently that only applies to Texas, which was not communicated to me during the quoting process. I spent a significant amount of money on this desk, and bought many accessories to go with it. I ended up not needing some of the accessories, and wanted to purchase more of others, but the company wanted to charge me outbound shipping in addition to the return shipping, AND a restocking fee. I spent over 3k, and they nickel and dimed me on small parts returns. For such a high end product I expected better service. I won't be a return customer. read more

The customer service that Jeremy P. gave me during my visit and through phone and email follow-up questions was nothing short of outstanding. This is a solid company with a very solid product that stands behind what they sell. Jeremy was super cool with me making changes and additions to my order, the entire experience was amazing. I purchased a very expensive Uplift desk and custom Steelcase Think chair ($1,100+) from The Human Solution. The chair has been causing pain in my legs after sitting in it for short periods of time due to two metal support bars underneath the seat which you can feel pressing into your thighs through the very thinly padded seat cushion. Terrible design. The orthopedist I went to said it is causing nerve compression pain and advised I stop using the chair. Neither Steelcase nor The Human Solution will do anything to help. THS's customer service person was extremely rude and tried to sell me on a $75 glorified foam pillow/extra cushion which can be found for $30 on Amazon and has a bad review score there anyway (search SupporTech Cushion Chair Pad). They would not take the chair back or exchange it, and would not contact the manufacturer to get a replacement seat or custom pad to fit the shape of the seat. Steelcase advised this may be possible but they "only work with dealers, not direct consumers". Those looking at all these reviews of The Human Solution should be warned many of them are from fake/new profiles, and that despite the premium price tags of their products, they DO NOT stand behind them whatsoever. read more

Of all the reviews and discussions about standing desks, these folks seemed to be everywhere (with positive reviews on a number of sites and great picture tutorials). So I needed to get one of the more expensive desk models, and started a dialogue with their sales staff. After a couple of weeks I had all the answers I needed and launched on my big purchase. My desk parts and keyboard arrived with days. Can't say enough good things about the quality of the equipment and responsiveness. Ordered a new desk, everything was a great experience, things shipped quick. When I received my order, I got all my accessories and the desktop but did not receive the legs or the feet. Everything that makes it a standing desk did not arrive. I get mistakes are made but how does an order leave the warehouse without the entire invoice being fulfilled? Not a big deal, replacement parts should be delivered in 3 days time. Unfortunately, UpLift waited till 7pm the following day to inform me that "my account did not have a phone number and are unable to process replacement parts." - How did you send the first half of the order? Furthermore, I know I updated my phone number in the account section because a customer service rep setup my account and placed my email in my phone number, so I corrected it. The ordering process is flawed, expect to work to receive your order. Finally, if you order your desk via quote, dont expect to see it reflected properly in your account. This is one of the easiest, customer focused online purchases of large items I have ever experienced. The support team is awesome and really responsive. The desks are sturdy (we have the 70" reclaimed wood standing versions), great to look at and smooth operating. Setup is very straightforward, but give yourself some time to focus on it and get it right. We ordered two tops and one was damaged in shipping. Update: As of today I am still waiting for a Manager to contact me. I have called multiple times the number provided to speak directly with the Manager, sent him multiple emails and no response. I am trying to understand how a product with 5 year warranty is out of warranty within 8 months of purchase. =========== I am very disappointed of the treatment provided by Uplift Desk / Human solution. I bought an office set in the middle of May 2020, comprised of an office chair, desk and desk accessories including a dual monitor attachment that was returned within 30 days due to its poor quality. I spent a significant amount of money knowing it was going to be the needed investment to work from home due to the pandemic, plus, a ten-year desk warranty and a five-year chair warranty will make it a better investment. The desk, so far, has been working well but the chair started braking apart in the month of December, barely seven months of seldom use as I ended up not working from home fulltime. The problem, the chair is made out of cheap and fragile material. The headrest is attached to the back support by a neck-rail mechanism. The headrest has a neck extension with side languets that fully insert into the rail mechanism by sliding it from the top. With no much use, the side languets started to break off little by little and piece by piece. These are the details 1) Sales receipt #SO231054 2) Chair CHR466-BLK 3) I contacted their customer service line to express my concern and make use of the five year warranty in January 19th, 2021. 4) Due to lack of follow up on the claim and after multiple emails, calls I was just told my chair was out of warranty. A five-year warranty on a chair purchased May 2020 expired by January 2021. 5) Customer service representatives, both, whom I contacted were very dismissive and unapologetic. 6) Customer service department argument was that the chair was delivered with no damages. 7) Requested to speak with a Manager but a Manager has never been available. 8) I asked to speak with the warranties department but I was told is an internal department and that they do not speak with clients. 9) When speaking with their sales department during the initial purchase stage, they were extremely customer service oriented with attention to detail, however, everything dissipated when exercising warranty rights. 10) Uplift Desk "Fast Warranty Resolution" is nonexistent: https://www.upliftdesk.com/warranty 11) Their deceiving warranty practices lead me to buy a poorly made product. My kneeling chair from Uplift Desk was great until it wasn't. While still under warranty, it became useless due to shoddy upholstery. The company would neither issue a free replacement seat nor allow me to purchase one. If they thought I'd pay for a whole new chair, they were sadly mistaken. Keep looking. Not good, even the CEO doesn't respond to emails. Here are tow I sent Mr. Paulsen, As I mentioned below, I paid close to $1000 for a desk only to have 5 missing screw inserts. After talking with customer service, they said they would send them to me. I received the confirmation email and instead of sending me 5 screw inserts, they are only shipping me 3 screw inserts. Therefore I still cannot assemble my $1000 desk. This has truly been one of the worst experiences. With COVID-19 and having to telework, I am configuring a home office, but I am being delayed by your company- delayed shipping, missing pieces, and now the wrong quantity of those missing pieces. The worst part is it's over 5 plastic screw inserts. Where is your quality control and why in the world would you only ship 3 very inexpensive plastic pieces?
