Our floors started lifting / bucking nearly 3 months after install. Husband and I didn't think it was too bad at first but since we walk without shoes in our home we noticed it more and more in other areas within our master and we are covered under warranty but Carlos and his installer Alex won't replace / repair our master bedroom flooring They see this job that is covered under warranty as a "FREE JOB" or as a "unpaid day of work" Which is NOT the case. 1. Not an attention to detail job was done 2. Floor is bucking 2 spots in master bedroom and 1 spot in hallway of 2nd floor 3. Alex the head installer blamed one of his other installers who did our master bedroom for "not evening the floor or advising Alex of the uneven flooring." 4. So solution or resolution No response 5. Rushed and shoddy work, our baseboards and walls were damaged by installation and not repaired. Owner refused to fix huge gaps in flooring on stairs, and warped flooring in some areas. We just bought our 1st home in Perris and wanted to put a new luxury vinyl floor before moving in. We really liked an option from Floor & Decor and were only looking for someone to install. We got Carlos's number from a family friend who Carlos did work for. He knows his business and showed us some of his options, and we decided to do the whole house with a really beautiful rigid core luxury vinyl floor he showed us. I especially like how it looks n my son's room, pictured here. Jose, one of his installers, is a skilled worker that knows how to lay the planks down in a braided pattern; this is some hard work but he made it look so easy, and did a flawless job in my opinion. And we were on a budget so we had to put half on the credit card and Zelled the other half. Carlos was easy to work with and patient with all of our indecisiveness and nitpicking and micromanaging. UpModern flooring met all of our needs and exceeded our expectations. We are very happy with this investment! I looked around for a flooring company that had the material I wanted at the right price. I found it with UpModern Flooring. Carlos V. (the owner), Jose and Antonio (his staff that did my flooring) are incredible. My house is 2 story and over 2156 SqFt. I got a commercial grade 8mm thick, 20 milwear layer, light gray, luxury vinyl plank for half the price of any local competitor and the big box stores. Jose is an artist, when it comes to making perfect round cuts and just did an incredible job throughout the house. I will only do business with this company and 100% recommend UpModern flooring to anyone. Carlos passes his pricing onto the consumer. Highly recommend. We got our wood done from them about one year ago and it still looks Amazing! It's the first thing people see when they come in to our home and everyone loves it!! Our house looks completely new now. Carlos is very easy to deal with and flexible. His workers are nice and work very hard to get the job done. Most companies have people come in for a couple hours a day but these guys would come for 12 hours and got it done in 3 days. I saw some other review that was bashing them for staying longer but we honestly like that they were willing to stay. If you tell them, you are busy, they won't stay for long, but then it will take longer... Overall we had a good experience. They did clean after everything was done like brooming the dust, but with all the windows open all week and workers having to come in and out, the wood floors were still a little dirty. But in that price you can't expect them to steam clean and mop ur floors afterward. Me and my husband just did that ourselves and it wasn't that bad. Honestly if you care that much you can just pay 50-100 more and get a maid for a day. So idk what the other bad reviews are for since some of the pics just look like a lcleaning issues. I wouldn't even give UpModern 1 star. Carlos was quick to come out and see what the job was, however it took him 2 WEEKS to email me a quote. After speaking to a few other companies, I realized he was quoting me according to expensive material and added services I didn't need or ask for. I tried calling/texting him back to get a new quote and it took him 2 more weeks to respond to me and then he advised he had to come back out to re-measure. After re-measuring, it took another 2 plus weeks for him to email me a new quote. During all of this waiting, I was texting him to check the status and he literally NEVER responds! I should have known by this unprofessionalism to walk away... but, I was trying to be understanding considering many companies are busy during this time. After nearly 2 months of basically me waiting for him to respond, we finally got to the point of scheduling an installation date. Of course, he responded nearly a week later confirming the date, however he didn't say a time. I texted him a week before the date to confirm time and payment options. No response. I texted again the day before. No response. Day of, he didn't show up. Go figure. read more

Carlos blamed it on the flooring manufacturer but when I researched the manufacturer, they had almost no bad reviews and their flooring installation instructions indicated to use adhesive. Carlos insisted that adhesive was not needed. PLUS, the exact same flooring/manufacturer was installed on my fiance's place of business by a different installer he has experienced NO LIFTING. Carlos eventually repaired a few planks but it took MONTHS for his to return to fix the errors. While doing so, he damaged our floor molding and didn't bother to fix it. He promised to return to our home to sign a new extended warranty but he has dodged our calls and will not return. Now the floors are lifting again! We spent over $13k to get these floors installed with Upmodern Flooring!!!. Be warned, he is not experienced, and neither is his team. We are exploring legal action. Carlos is very professional and honest, I highly recommend him. And Jose Gonzales is a very professional installer. I am super picky when it comes to materials and installers/handymen. Especially that I have had bad experiences with some lousy handymen. And I am also very detail oriented, I can find any imperfection(s) regardless how small they are and I have found none. Once you talk to Carlos, you do not need to waste your time to go or shop around somewhere else because you won't be able to find a better deal. This is truly our honest review and recommendation. I contacted Carlos to get a quote and he was so much cheaper than competitors. He stopped by with whatever time he had in the day to give me samples, recommendations, and best of all, honesty. He gave me an extremely good price, had a readily available install date and made my house a priority! His installers showed up ready to work. Alex, Jose and Antonio are GREAT. They are extremely respectful and treat your house like they would theirs. They got to work quick, and had flooring on the ground within a few hours from showing up. I greatly appreciate the hard work. They are extremely meticulous, detail oriented and are responsive to any questions or concerns. They finished my house without rushing through ANYTHING and it came out amazing.
