We got it to his shop later, It was difficult to diagnose the actual problem. He kept me informed on the situation as it unfolded and was honest with me up front. The boat was finished in 1.5 weeks, parts delivery took a few days twice. Before he released the boat he kept it an extra day just to make sure the job was done right, he wanted to shut all the systems down and start fresh in the morning and do another test drive. I really appreciate his attention to detail. And his honesty he estimated a price range for the repair He said 3000.00 to 5000.00. it came in at $3042.00!! he could have padded it but he didn't. Joe was working at the desk and offered to take a look before we sent it off. He spent 20 minutes finding the proper power cable and hooking up the unit. Turns out it was working fine. He and I discussed possible problems. He informed me that the power cable was sometimes a problem. He searched through his spare supply of cables, checked with the manager to ensure that it was ok for me to take it and try out on the boat. Needless to say, that, was the problem. I blew out a Ray Marine drive belt off of Miami last week and found the belt I needed there in Chester (with some help from the West Marine service department). Got in touch with Jacob and he took care of everything in getting it to the Key West store - sent me the UPS tracking number, touched base with them, and followed up. It beat me to Key West.
