My poor review is about delivery service. I called the restaurant to see which delivery service they use as I ordered pizzas for my kids party and thought it would be inconvenient to pick up the order. They informed they used GrubHub and I place my order easily through that company. I was informed my order would be 30 min late which I thought was fine. 45 minutes later I was informed there was a problem with my order and it was cancelled. GrubHub called me and asked if I wanting to resend a new order and wait another hour. As my food was already 45 min late I was not willing to risk another mistake from this service. When I called the restaurant they informed me that someone picked up the order. So I assume they gave my food to the wrong person as when the GrubHub driver arrived to pick the food it had already been taken. How do you not verify who you give an order to??? Instead of someone taking responsibility, for this error, the restaurant and GrubHub kept blaming each other. So shameful of both! Although upper crust pizza is good, I will not go there again due to this horrible service and I will advise my friends and neighbors do the same. And I will definitely spread the word about the abominable service GrubHub. Thankfully there are many options in our neighborhood for food delivery and good pizza. read more

I've recently been reminded that all businesses have suffered and are still struggling. Covid impacted us all. We have ALWAYS supported local businesses. More so now than ever before. Despite this evenings service I have to give upper Crust Pizza a 5 star. Their food is amazing prices are very affordable and they never mess up the order. I only offer the suggestion to management that they encourage their staff to be more honest about time frame for pick up. I realize expedition is important but honesty is equally important. Don't deliberately misinform your customers just to appease them it's only frustrating . If your time frame for orders ready to be picked up is 45-50 min don't tell them 25 min. Thinking it's ok. It isn't. While we waited the additional 35 min for our food this evening we witnessed the manager remind staff the importance of informing phone in orders the appropriate time for pick up. Whether it's 20 min or 1 hour the food is definitely worth it. As a customer it's much appreciated to be able to plan accordingly. read more

Order this pizza for the first time off a recommendation. The pizza was not great as it was pretty bland like dominos and somewhat cold once delivered. It actually looks like pizza hut pizza. Also ordered a anti pasta salad and it had hardly any meat, a ton of onions and most of the lettuce was wilted, soggy and black. How they let this leave the store is beyond comprehension. The italian dressing it came with was literally the worst dressing i have ever tasted....disgusting to say the least. I will never order any food from this place ever again. We ordered a full salad, a small order of wings, and a special calzone which came out to around $27. All of which was disappointing. The salad was practically cheese and lettuce that was garnished with 2 small cherry tomatoes and 4 carrot sticks. The wings were tossed in a mild sauce which tasted very chemically and were soggy. When I arrived I should have listened to the red flags when I saw a large container of the predressed wings which they pulled out of the refrigerator. I've been coming here for a long time with my parents. We've had many family gatherings here so it holds a special place in my heart. I've been telling my fiancé how awesome their pizza is and he needed to try it! Finally brought him on 2/7 for an early dinner. The place got a total make over! They remodeled the whole place and looks more modern! I liked the change. Anyway we ordered a large pizza and some chicken wings. My fiancé was getting a little impatient because we were the only ones there except for a few people taking out and we waited 25 mins for our wings and 30 mins to get our pizza. It does say on the receipt to give them 15-20 mins to make the pizza since it's from scratch. At least they give a heads up on the receipt but the wings could have probably came out a little sooner as our appetizer. Once we got our food , it made up for the wait ! My fiancé loved this place. The wings are delicious! The pizza is absolutely excellent! They put a good amount of cheeeese! I love cheese! Good amount of toppings as well. The bread/crust is also very good! I Love Upper Crust Pizza!!! This is 1 of the 3 pizzerias in the San Diego area that I visit & would recommend. Oceanside may seem a bit out of the way, I live in Carlsbad, but I will drive for great pizza! You will too, once you try it, I go at least twice a month, or more often is Gabe my cousin is home on leave...I happened upon this restaurant when my cousin was home on leave from the Marines and one guy in his unit said we had to try their pizza. I am happy to say it is now one of my favorites. Great salads, tasty pizza and friendly service, Upper Crust is a very comfortable restaurant, with booths - love that factor. YES! We came here to grub after our visit to Iron Sights Range and ordered a bunch of pizzas. The garlic cheese bread/pizza, man....it was so bomb!!! I could (but I didn't) have killed the whole thing, it is so good!! I had a small Garden salad with no chesse and split that. Also ordered a Mini Vegetarian pizza with no cheese and the hubs ordered the "Garlic Delight Our fresh dough brushed with light olive oil, garlic and spices, then topped with a blend of mozzarella and parmesan cheese, sliced tomatoes and fresh basil." Ok so right off the bat I MUST say, they are extremely friendly here! I just recently started working around there and I was told that upper crust pizza is an amazing place. Being myself, always wanting to try new places, decided that today is the day I go in. I walked in and was greeted with a big smile and a welcome! I ordered their lunch special that consisted of a drink, personal pizza, and a salad. They told me that it would be a 15min wait and believe me it's well worth the wait. The pizza is simply delicious. I honestly can't write how well it because it's delicious. Words can't express how I felt when I bit into the first slice. The sauce is very flavorful and amazingly mild. Some pizzeria sauces will cover the flavor of the rest of the pizza. They did a great job! All the components of the pizza work so well together. I mean they need a prize haha. The salad is amazingly great, which I thought I would never say that but they are great! The staff is very friendly and i appreciate them taking their time and asking about myself. Something that nowadays restaurants seem to forget. I highly recommend them because they are doing something VERY well with their pizza. Updated 6/28/2018 I have never been a fan of calzones because I feel they have too much dough and not enough toppings. I've tried calzones and found them to not be balanced well. Either too much dough were the fillings are buried or too greasy were, when you cut it, a river of oil just runs out. Not a fan. UNTIL I tried upper crust's calzone. When I got mine, the whole top was opened. I can see the melted, browned, delicious cheese and some of my toppings perfectly situated in it. The crust was crisp, well baked and had a nice sweetness to it. When I took my first bite, a symphony went off in my mouth. I didn't have a mouthful of dough, I had a mouthful of deliciousness. It was not greasy nor soggy nor overpowered by dough. I'm amazed at how well the calzone came together. The filling was simply amazing. You can taste the freshness and the care that was put into it. Not too much or not too little. It was amazing. As I mentioned before.... they are doing pizza and NOW calzone very well. Hats off to upper crust! read more

Delicious pizza, very accommodating staff. The last time I came was on Memorial Day, we were stoked it was open until 10pm and we got there around 8:30. The restaurant was a mess, I'll admit that it was hard to find a clean table but I figured it was a busy day. I also overheard the really cool kid that rang us up tell another customer that it was busier than expected that day and they were very understaffed. Speaking of that kid, I don't know his name but he was awesome. He giggled a little when I ordered my own small pizza without cheese and then the house salad without cheese, dressing on the side...he said "are you lactose intolerant?" That made me laugh too. My non lactose intolerant friend got the garlic cheese pizza, if you have never had it, HAVE IT. I used to eat it years ago before I'd get sick from it. Okay so it's probably the most unhealthy thing you could put into your mouth, then add their delicious ranch dressing with that and you're set. The house salad was hilarious. It was literally iceberg lettuce, 4 cherry tomatoes, 4 carrots. Humorously barren. Whatever, we munched on it like little rabbits. My "no cheese" pizza came out delicious. Of course I added some basil, sundried tomatoes, and onions and it's truly was delicious. All in all this upper crust provides great pizza and a fun atmosphere. I prefer the Vista location but both places have good quality food. It's a great place to go to if you have big groups and want to enjoy some pizza and beer. The beer selection isn't great but it will do for the price for a pitcher. Support your mom and pop pizza shops and ditch the papa johns and pizza huts for places like this! Pizza is pretty good here..classic-style, nothing fancy, a lot of toppings. But everything else served here is below average..boring pastas, wings, salads and sandwiches. They're just too old-fashioned for my liking, not a lot of flavor there. But most of their customers don't care, as long as it's discounted. They have inexpensive lunch specials that bring in the masses. Service is hit and miss. Their dining room is the worst part, a sad throwback to the 1980s. While the pizza isn't bad here, there are much better dining options nearby. read more

Upper Crust is pretty much a weekly lunch or dinner spot for me and the hubbs. First of all, you must get the pasta salad. It is amazing with italian dressing, they also have a half and half with half pasta salad and half regular salad if you want to feel like you are being semi-healthy. Their stuffed sandwiches are delicious filled with meats and cheeses! I love their barbecue chicken and Hawaiian pizza but all their pizzas are really good. Too many veggies on the pizza is a no no, at upper cruse just stick with the meaty pizzas. Their cheesy garlic bread is really good too but lately you have to ask for extra cheese. My family and I have been ordering pizza from this place for almost 20 years and it has never once disappointed us! You would never think this place would be so delish based on where it is at but over the years the food has become better (they are constantly reinventing the menu), customer service is top notch (its rare when we call to order and get an employee who doesn't proved superior customer service) and the atmosphere is fun and family friendly! Our family favorites are the new pesto pizza, meatball sub, antipasto salad, and the ham deli sandwich! I also love that this place will let you create your own pizza! Ok so first off I want to comment on the disregard for customer service . also my main complaint is the lack of cleanliness . last Tuesday I was craving the ranch and 1/2&1/2 salad so I came in for lunch and got food with my family . I ordered my mom a slice of pizza and half way through she noticed a hair on her pepperoni . I know the owners so I let it slide and just kinda stopped eating. now I come back a week later because once again I was craving a salad. sitting down eating dinner with my family once AGAIN I open a ranch and sure thing there is ANOTHER piece of hair in my ranch right at the top. this time I took it to the manager , and she simply asked if I wanted more ranch. and I was expecting something else like an apology ? a small refund ? as a full paying customer I expect more when I come into eat and not get hair in my food . and this has happened MORE THAN ONCE. their food isn't good enough to keep getting hair in it . my family and I are not coming anymore . and if I REALLLLY need some Uppercrust I will go to vista . the extra 15 mins from home will be worth it to not get hair in my food and get some decent customer service when there is a problem . read more

Discovered this place one evening when my family and I were out and looking for somewhere to grab dinner. Decided to pull in and give it a try! First of all, there is something about the ranch dressing here. To die for. Every single time I eat here, I HAVE to have a house salad with ranch. Hell, right after I had my baby, I wanted a salad with ranch from Upper Crust! Ha! I typically get one of the specials when I dine here. Baked ziti, lasagna, or manicotti are my favorites. And they come with salad (with ranch:)) and garlic bread. 4 pieces! It's always way too much food for me. Great price on the specials too. My hubby usually gets a sandwich. He loves the Philly. My daughter always gets wings. She changes it up on the spiciness, and typically orders blue cheese. My son always gets pizza. My family loves this place. Location is close to home, prices and food are on par, and we always have good service :) read more

Disappointing service. It has definitely gone way down in the past few years... Ordered 3 pizzas for pickup and they quoted us 45 minutes for them to be ready. Left about 45 minutes later to pick them up and when we got there to pick up and pay, the crew looked for our order and realized they hadn't made it yet. The crappy thing is that we could see them frantically making our pizzas after we got there(we got anchovies on one) and no one offered up an explanation or apology. 25 minutes later we asked how long it would be and they said a few minutes and offered us free drinks. Doesn't do much when you don't drink soda and beer/wine was out of the question. Overall bad experience that makes me hesitate to return. read more

I love Upper Crust!!! I've been coming here since I was really young and this place has never proved to be any less than DANK. My friends and I have recently adopted Upper Crust as a post-high school football/basketball game eatery, and we've started to get around the menu. In all, everything that I've tried, I've liked. Particularly, my favorite pizzas are the Vegetarian Pizza (it's reeeally good... Usually veggie slices aren't very flavorful), the BBQ Chicken PIzza, the plain ole' Pepperoni Pizza, the Garlic Delight, and the Everything Pizza. In addition, the pizza cooks are neverrrr stingy with the toppings and the sauce is really tasty/savory. The plain garden salad is always really fresh and crispy, and, even though I don't care toooo much for ranch, their house ranch is 'real good. It's always surprised me that Upper Crust's never busy. Even on weekend evenings. Anyhow, it's nice to get quick service and be in an non-hectic pizza place. read more
