Won't be ordering from Upper Crust ever again. Used to order here a lot but after this last experience, I won't be ordering again. I placed a phone order for a pizza at 5:48pm on a Friday. I was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. 25 minutes later, I called in to add a order of wings, I was told it would be an extra 15 minutes. Long story short, I had to wait an additional 30 minutes for the wings after arriving and it was over an hour since I had placed the pizza. I went to check the status of my order 1 hour after ordering the pizza and was told they were still waiting on the pizza! How is that possible if I had placed the pizza order first!! Ended up talking to a manager and that was even worse. He didn't care and didn't even want to talk. The wings ended up being cold too. This little place in a quiet little strip mall, is one of the best pizzas I have had the privilege to eat. The crust is perfect, not thick, not thin but just right. The sauce is what you will notice at first. You cannot compare to Dominoes, Little Squeezer's or Pizza Hut. The sauce will remind you of those good pizza places from back in the 60's 70's when they took time to make it right. They put the sauce all the way up to the edge, not like those other places that have these huge crusts with nothing on them. I always get an extra large, because at least you have leftovers if a friend shows up and decides to "taste". The service is excellent and the people there are friendly. We went last night after a funeral on the 17 of January 2017. My wife is picky about her pizza, and she has to have Upper Crust Pizza when we visit Vista from Menifee. We got there & literally EVERY table was dirty we asked if we could have a table cleaned and they told us we had to wait our salad had gotten out to us before we even had a table 15 min pass & FINALLY we get someone to come out & clean a table and he decided to take about 10 min to clean it down and throw the excess trash on the seats we had to help him wipe the table & seats down ourselves I suggest going to the upper crust in oceanside this one is just a mess of a restaurant overall ! Miss the San Marcos Upper Crust. We ate there weekly and each time it was EXCELLENT! Visited this location twice in December. One time everything was good, then on our 12/09/10 visit we were super disappointed. Lasagna: never tried it before, thought I would try something different. Boring, won't order it again. Salad: The dressing and the mozzarella cheese normally really make it. Dressing still great, skimpy on the cheese this night. As a kid... celebrating a win at a pizza place was great. But, better when it was at Upper Crust. Having moved away from Vista and Upper Crust I was hopeful it was stand up to the test of time like a great movie. It did.... and does all the time. First time eating at upper crust. Salad was brought out before the pizza which was great. The salad would have been delicious but it had far too many brown leaves. After eating a few slimy wet clumps of lettuce I couldn't eat my salad that I was so craving. The pizza took forever. Over 40 minutes at least. During the hour and 30 minutes visit not one table had ever been cleaned. We observed new customers cleaning their own tables in order to sit. They put the dirty dishes onto other tables and used napkins to wipe the tables. The pizza was very tasty. Because of that I probably will go back again. The prices were reasonable also. read more

I went to Vista High in the 80's and I remember over hearing the cool kids talking about upper crust but of course I was not a cool kid so never got to check it out then. Now I am nearly 45 years old with 2 twenty something kids who finally took me to the exclusive upper crust pizza! It was awesome! The place is in need of remodeling and its hidden in a suite of buildings off of Vista way but it is well kept and clean. The pizza was full of toppings and the salads I think are served family style. I say I think family style because I ordered a chef salad and it was huge! Too big for one person unless that's all you are going to eat and even in that case, hopefully you'll be out digging holes to burn some of that off!! The crust on the pizza was better than Anywhere that I've ever had pizza out. It was perfect!! I am not exaggerating I promise. All pizza places including Sammi's wood fired and California pizza kitchen should take some lessons from upper crust! Check this place out...
