Pizzas here are good. They deliver and have gluten-free doughs. I went with a few friends and they all liked it. When I ordered delivery, the guy showed up 15 mins before he was supposed to, and it was raining. So points there. Even though the pizza tasted better when I ate it in the store, It's not a place I would go to sit and eat unless it were very late at night. It doesn't seem to be that kind of place. It's great for grabbing a quick slice or ordering delivery IMHO. read more

Excellent thin crust pizza. I just wish their prices were more reasonable - they charge for each additional ingredient. They also have these mini spinach pie cakes...yum!!! I had this delivered to my house and it arrived nice and warm. I also have done pick up many times. They have some sitting in their place, but it's not really a good place for that. I think upper crust is unique in a sense that they do it "really old fashioned". The crust has a nice thickness to it and just enough fluff on the inside while maintaining an excellent crunch. The toppings and sauce were pretty good; they tasted fresh and made on the spot, the portion of the pie itself was pretty immense compared to pizzas joints in smaller neighborhoods. read more

It's not awful but it's not great. It's better than most other pizza places in Boston and that's not saying much if you know Boston. The city lacks in good New York Style pizza and Upper Crust pizza makes a good attempt but falls short. I'd look elsewhere for good pizza, maybe Sabatino's in Brighton. read more

I really love Upper Crust. I love the crust, I love the cheese, I love the toppings. Daily special slices are usually delicious. I have been pleased with all the locations I've tried. I would say that eating in the restaurant is definitely the way to go, not as good when it has to travel all the way to your house. read more

Expensive price per slice, but a whole pizza was reasonably priced (in the gourmet category). I am now concerned as the chain has had very public financial problems. Just a quick update - we ordered again tonight. Unfortunately, I didn't heed Erika's advice (above) to call her first before ordering. We did a pick up order and amazingly, the calzone was left out. My gf would have checked, but everything was packaged up already. I called the store immediately and they offered to drop off the calzone with a delivery driver. This place has great food. There are a lot of different types of pizza to chose from and they have a fair price. There isn't much of a dining area, just one really large table to eat at. If you don't have a lot of people in your party you could probably eat there. I bet most people order to go. They definitely had a memorable pizza. I can still taste it it was so good. read more

First time in Boston and this place was a delight! We ordered a small margherita pizza and it was delicious. The crust was sooo soft and thin and the topping was tangy! Not a great experience, or pizza. We did an online order on Sunday at lunch time, and were told that it would take between 25-45 minutes. At the 45 minute mark, we finally got a notification that it was done. However, when we went in, waited in line, and got to the register, we were told that the pizza hadn't even been started, and that it would take another 10 minutes! When I complained, I was told "we're really busy," even though there was hardly anyone in line, and they seemed to be operating at a normal pace. Once we (finally) got our pizza, it was... okay. Decent toppings and cheese, but overdone. Also, the wings we received came in a small pizza box that had cheese stuck to the inside, so it was clearly re-used (yuck!). I actually planned to send a complaint to them privately about this hygiene issue, but their website has no option for feedback or contacting, which is extremely unprofessional. read more

This is the most unprofessional delivery service I have ever encountered. I would gladly give them a zero if I could. The manager that I talked to, first name is Jose, was completely useless and unprofessional. I ordered a pizza and after 1 hour and 15 min called them to check on the status, Jose says the delivery guy said it was "not delivered" and did not bother to call me or inform me of this. He then apologizes and says he'll send it again, and assures me that he'll personally ensure that it gets delivered. More than an hour later, nothing. I call again, and useless Jose says again that he's not sure what happened. This was a disgrace of a service. I will surely never order from Upper Crust again. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! read more

So although sometimes Reginas, Figs, or Sal's does have its place - the one pizza I can never turn down is Upper Crust. The Upper Crust Beacon Hill experience is one of the worst pizza delivery and customer service experiences I've ever had in Boston. After placing our order for delivery, the pizza arrived cold and soggy about an hour later, and they sent us the wrong calzone. When calling to ask them to correct this, they at first refused and when we pushed they said they would deliver our correct order in another hour, no discount and no compensation for the wait time or having received the wrong order in the first place! The second order finally arrived, and was wrong again! We ended up eating this for fear of waiting another hour, but it wasn't good at all. Dry and cardboard-like. I will never order from Upper Crust again because of this horrible experience. This is not how you operate a hospitality establishment. read more

I forgot how great this pizza really is! I am an out of towner, but when I returned over the summer and stopped in with my family it all came back to me! The dough is fresh, the toppings as well, and it was cooked to perfection! My co-workers and I ordered Upper Crust yesterday, looking for a tasty lunch during the snowstorm. We ordered four large pizzas (our favorites were the White Spinach and Cameron's BBQ) and a few salads. Everyone in our office loved the pizzas and the salads were really fresh, with creamy cheese crumbles on top. It was the perfect lunch for a snowy day! Not only were the pizzas delicious but the delivery was great too! The pizzas and salads were delivered about 30 minutes after we ordered (keep in mind it was snowing heavily at this time, and they still got here quickly) and arrived steaming hot--as I was carrying them into the office I could see the steam rising out of the boxes. Upper Crust also included plates, napkins, and utensils with the delivery which was really convenient. We will definitely be ordering from Upper Crust again. My co-workers and I are still talking about yesterday's lunch this morning and are looking forward to having some of the leftovers today. read more
