I get it that it's a small town and only 1 of 2 pizza places in town but I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt, so we waited. When I came for pick up they forgot the wings and salad with the order. They seemed busy inside with making the food but were still friendly. After tipping $10.. the pizza was good, thin crust, but they also forgot an ingredient on the pizza (jalapeño on their spicy Hawaiian).. Wings were dry and salty. I'm not really familiar with the area and had zero reception so I couldn't browse around online to see what sounded good, but before I left for my trip my mom, who visits sea ranch frequently with my dad, had mentioned on more than one occasion that there's a really good pizza place in Gualala. I didn't have any strong feelings on anywhere else to go, so I figured why not, can't go wrong with pizza. I am so glad I did!! This was one of the tastiest pizzas I've ever had! The crust was perfect. The red sauce was yummy and just the perfect amount (I hate it when pizza is too saucy). The sausage was super tasty, too. Pizza with a crisp crust and a variety of toppings. We had a California (fresh tomato, feta, garlic, parsley, no sauce) - delicious! Good cheese makes the pizza! Fantastic pizza up in Sea Ranch, and they have gluten free!! Called in on a Friday night at like 5:30 & it was ready in 30 mins and on time. We had a gluten free house special vegetarian and a medium house special of the meat, and ordered them both without cheese.The regular pizza had great texture and the gluten free was good for GF. Would I order again? Absolutely. Not the nicest atmosphere, so I recommend taking out. Staff was really nice though! read more

I would do no stars if I could, but not an option. My husband and I were in town for the weekend and wanted pizza. The menu we got from the B&B said they were open until 830 so we called at 730 to order a pick up order. The young woman who answered refuses to take our order. She said, and I quote, " Oh no, I can't take your order tonight. We just had a large order for ten pizzas and that will take us past closing time, so I won't take your order tonight." I was shocked so I repeated back to her, " Your open until 830pm, but because you had an order for ten pizzas you don't want my order?" She said, Yes, it will bring us into close." She then hung up. A small business in a very small town and you can afford to refuse an order because you can't handle more than one large order before close ? Really. I wish I could say that I actually ate here, because the pizza looked really good and most of the reviews were very favorable. However, when we arrived around 8:30 we were turned away. The open sign was on and it clearly says it closes at 9pm. There were 4 people in the kitchen just standing around and they easily could have prepared something to go. If it says you close at 9, shouldn't you actually close at 9? Based on service alone I have to give them 1 star. From some other reviews I've read this doesn't seem that uncommon for them to turn away paying customers. Maybe next time just change your hours so you don't set up the wrong expectations. read more

We ordered two pizzas - small & medium. Bill total was over $40.00. We are seasoned travelers. We can honestly say that this is among the worst pizza we have ever had. The value of the crust and toppings could not have exceeded $10.00 with a tasteless wafer thin crust, a sprinkle of cheese and sparse toppings. We could not believe it. This place was much better a few years ago. It has deteriorated in many ways. The pizza is not as tasty - it seems thinner, greasier and the sauce is weak. When the owner was making pizzas there were 4-5 star. Now a group of distracted teenagers is in there doing their best but not quite cutting it. We pizza is barely average. Wings are still ok. Interior seating and atmosphere hasn't recovered to pre-pandemic levels. It's mostly a take-out business. Wish they could do a bit better. read more

Went on a road trip with my mom along Hwy 1 and stopped by this pizzeria because we were starving and from the reviews I thought this would be a perfect place to chill and eat. Called in the order and the girl over the phone sounded super stressed but all good. Went to go pick it up and the girl by the cash register was sorta unfriendly but again all good- when I went back to the hotel I realized that she overcharged me $5 (now $7 with the tip I left) which wasn't cool. Thought about calling back and have her give me a partial refund for the overcharge but I didn't want to deal with that weird energy. So I ordered a pizza to go & while my husband & I were waiting for the pizza, we decided to try some food he got from the outside (not pizza cause he didn't want it) also we were starving & couldn't wait. Had a beer while I waited. The three folks in the back indicated to another patron how busy they were (there were maybe 10 pies on the stove keeping warm, 1/3 tables were waiting, the others were fed). One of my favorite places to eat when we're in the area! They answer their phone consistently and the staff are super friendly in person or on the phone. Their crust is really crispy and tasty, ingredients are fresh and not too skimpy, and they have great gourmet selections (we love the Pesto Chicken). Recently discovered they they have a gluten free crust that is just $2 more than a regular pizza. That's WAY cheaper than most places charge. The prices are fair considering the quality, quantity, and price range for the area. There are a few small, bar-style tables so you can eat inside if you want to, but it is best to take it to go and enjoy back at your cabin or hotel (or on the beach!). Only drawback is the hours, they're pretty much only open for dinner. If you're hungry at lunch time, you're out of luck. read more

Let me begin by saying that I LOVE pizza. I could eat it all day, everyday, for the rest of my life. That being said, my boyfriend and I have visited many different pizzerias, with him being very hard-pressed to truly appreciate anything not homemade. We ordered pizza from Upper Crust on our first night's stay at the Sea Ranch, and we both had the same exact reaction. This was seriously the BEST pizza we had ever had. So good that we broke our rule of only eating out one time during our stay at Sea Ranch, we ordered another pizza the night before we left. The staff was really kind and the prices were certainly reasonable for such quality. They don't deliver, but who can complain about the beautiful drive? We were lucky to get in. We were staying at the Breakers Inn across the street (Also an amazing place with a great view of the sea). We came in to Upper Crust at around 8 PM. The owner was just about to close as we came in. He was nice enough to make one last pie togo for two hungry travelers. We chatted and got to know a little about Al. Soon after the pizza was ready and Al made sure we had all we needed as far as napkins and plastic utensils. I'm a San Franciscan and know good cuisine when I taste it. This pie is the real thing. Sourdough crust is the perfect balance of crispy and chewy. The sauce is rich and tangy. We had the sausage and onion. Good crumbled styled sausage. This guy does the onions just right. In my opinion onions should be a sweet alternative to the cloying flavor of pineapple. At upper crust the onions are thin sliced and cooked to the apex of sweetness. Stop by and pick up a pie. The location is not the star show, it's the excellent pizza you will find here. read more
