This place was good and inexpensive. They have a lot of sauces and variety of items on the menu. I will be back next time I'm craving chicken tenders.

    4 tenders & 2 sauces: 2 crispy (top), 2 crunchy (underneath) w/ house sauce & curly fries

who knew something so simple could taste so delicious? tender tenders serves chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, and salads, with different options for sides. it can sometimes take a while for orders to come out, but the food is made to order and comes out piping hot! even when i've ordered delivery, the food still tastes great. - curly fries (5/5): great curly fries, which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. very standard seasoning - garlicious fries (4/5): really good garlic fragrance and flavor, but i wish it was more evenly spread because some of the fries on the bottom were plain. they were very crispy and a little overcooked for me, but it didn't bother me too much because i liked the flavor overall - crunchy tenders (5/5): a really unique breading that incorporated sesame seeds. i LOVED the crunchiness of the breading and the sesame seed flavor. i was impressed that the chicken was so juicy, and the tenders were huge! - crispy tenders (5/5): a very crispy yummy breading, which is great if you want more of a classic tender. these were perfect chicken tenders, but i just loved the crunchy tenders more! one of the best things about tender tenders is the variety of sauces they offer! my favorite sauce was the house sauce, which reminded me of raising cane's. it was creamy, tangy, and peppery. the chipotle mayo had a creamy and smoky chipotle flavor, and the zesty ranch was the spiciest one. i thought it tasted peppery and a little nutty, kind of like a spicy cashew ginger sauce. the honey lime was tangy from the lime with a very slight sweetness from the honey. i liked the flavor but thought it was too watery, and i had to mix it since the honey separated. i love dipping chicken tenders in yummy sauces. and somehow, tender tenders makes them even better. these are some of the biggest and juiciest chicken tenders i've ever had! i've never seen another restaurant sell chicken tenders with sesame seeds in the breading, and i'm so sad i can only get these here. tender tenders is such a simple concept, but it's one of my favorite restaurants in san rafael!

Walt reporting for Walt's Adventures in San Raphael, California and it has finally been found. What I discovered was Tender Tenders... a restaurant solely dedicated to that meal that every child requests in every restaurant no matter what type of eatery it might be. This indoor seating only establishment has taken chicken nuggets- bites- tenders to the next level. Their tenders were the best tenders I have consumed. They offer 3 different menus for their sauces and customized breading for the tenders. Their customer service was excellent but they were no doubt changing their sign for it was absent from the restaurant. Every restaurant offers chicken nuggets but if you want true chicken tenders... they can be found in San Raphael

The name is so simple, but accurately describes Tender Tenders! Fried chicken tenders are having a moment but there have definitely been misses. After being recently let down by the quality of Starbird in Larkspur, I was hesitant about Tender Tenders and came in with low expectations. Located on the outskirts of downtown San Rafael, Tender Tenders is in an assuming lot with the Best Buy Outlet. I placed an order through Uber Eats which had an even more limited menu! The place does have a few seats but it is probably better to expect to order and go. If I had known, I would have come in to order the sandwich! What I got: 5 Chicken Tenders with Three Sauces (4/5): There are two options for the tenders the original crispy which is your typical breading or their proprietary crunch which seems like a little bit more of bite. If I were to go back, I think I would probably choose "Crunchy" since it is more unique! These chicken tenders were pretty big and still very juicy when we bit into it! In terms of sauces, they had so many to choose from but settled on the house sauce, chipotle mayo and sweet chili. They were all pretty standard as expected but served as good pairings to the tenders. In terms of service, the food came out fresh and hot at the estimated time. There was plenty of parking when we arrived on Saturday afternoon. Overall, I would say Tender Tenders serves great chicken tenders that are worth getting especially if you want something substantial and decent value!

Two tenders with fry's and a house sauce

The service is wonderful the food is to die for the staff is kind enough to instantly lighten someone's mood the atmosphere makes it feel safe and like everyone there is happy and fine with each other and overall a top 3 pick for food in San Rafael

They do have a to-go area where you can place order and pick it up, rather than going into the actual restaurant. My go to dish is the bistec sandwich, paired with their house special hot sauce, it is soooo good!!!! They also sell bottles of their hot sauce and salad dressing which is amazing. I recently tried their plantain burrito and it was also very delicious. My go to drink is their ponche which is super refreshing, especially during their summer months. I always forget to take photos of the food before I eat here because I am so excited to always dig in! I'll aim to come back soon to take photos and update my review. I came around 5:50PM on a Sunday night and had to wait about 10 minutes, but by the time I left around 6:30PM, the line was out the door and then some. Definitely get here early, and parking shouldn't be too hard with a lot nearby and free street parking. This spot is pretty casual, as in you order at the counter before grabbing a number and sitting at a table. As opposed to a food hall, you get directed where you sit before ordering, and sometimes end up sharing a table with another party, especially in my case when you have a party of 2. Service was attentive and food came out at a decent pace, though they did not come all together. I ordered a large Bistec Sandwich and a Pasteles Special. The Bistec sandwich is a must order, and I recommend ordering the sandwich over the plate due to how fragrant the bread was. Pictures might not look like much, but the bread was sooo good and crispy, and they give a good balance of meat, avocado and veggies. It can be a little heavy, but a large sandwich was perfect for my wife and I to share along with another plate. The Pastales was alright - the rice is pretty unique if you're looking for new flavors, but the pork was a little stinky and dry. The hot sauce on the table is really good and managed to mitigate that, and it's not as spicy as you'd think given the color and smell. The banana leaf in the tamale made it really fragrant with a unique taste, and the lemon sauce on the salad balanced the entire plate out. For a party of 2, I recommend ordering the Bistec Sandwich in large size (since I believe the regular price only gives you half) and another plate. I also recommend using the toast tab (online order) to look at the menu over their actual menu; the UI of it makes it hard to choose what to order and the toast menu has pictures next to the menu item. Given that Marin food options can be quite expensive or fancy, this place is the perfect place to go for a unique food spot, especially if you're coming from SF.

Except for 1 thing: please train your employees to properly clean tables, if they even clean them at all. Yesterday an employee was cleaning the condiments area. Walked past 4 tables that were filthy. I had to clean them myself. Got lemons, napkins, & water. In fact, in the past I had to follow up after employees made it worse...using dirty rags successively, leaving behind residue & film. Hey, at $20/hour, I could easily work here once I retire. Back in my teens I was excellent with cleaning, as well flipping burgers at Burger King! Come on In n Out, fix this part of your overall excellent business. Dirt is dirt. Nobody likes it. A few folks outside some inside. This made ordering quick and easy, and the food was prepared quickly; a benefit for us, perhaps not for the business. The place is still attractive and clean, with plenty of tables outside and inside. I did not that, as my last visit, there is no shade really provided for the outside seating, save ONE small umbrella. Ugh - not sure what the issue is, and being it was a sunny day, we opted to sit inside as much as the patio called to us. The inside is nice, too, though, and there is easy access to the soda fountain machine and condiments. There are still self-ordering kiosks, large digital menus, and of course, you can also order through the app (even if standing inside!) or at the counter. We ordered a bit of each - side, main, and dessert! There was a portabella "'Shroom" burger (with a crisp-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheeses, topped with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce on a toasted potato bun), cheese fries, a mac 'n' cheese, chicken bites, and a Key lime shake, a special offering! Damn the calories, full taste ahead! The food was indeed prepared quickly and served hot. The Shroom burger was my favorite last time, and for taste and texture this time was also delicious and good. The cheeses inside were melty-gooey, and the mushroom crispy. It was, though, much smaller than I remember - it fit within my hand! A con, against the price, for what is a nice option for veggies or anyone wanting a change in their burger. The chicken bites were smaller than expected in size, more like nuggets, but tasty. The mac 'n' cheese was also tasty, but also a bit small for the price. The fries are always good, and in this case, you need to dig to the bottom early on to scrape some of the melted cheese that dripped down back onto the fries. Very yummy. But the best part was the Key lime shake, a flavor I just love (cheesecake is my favorite iteration of this flavor) but this milkshake satisfied me greatly. A little pricier than their everyday shakes, but how often so you find a unique flavor like this! A win! Overall, a solid 4-stars for food flavor and quality, and also for ambience and environment. Price wise, it was about $40 for two of us, so not a great bargain, but given the economy today I have the same financial shock at other places as well. Still, a nice treat and we left happy.

I liked using the self-serve kiosks to order since we could take our time going through the menu. Never realized they sold beer! To verify purchase, a staff member came over to check ID. We ordered: a couple burgers, fries, onion rings, a beer, and the Dubai chocolate pistachio shake. Burgers were good, although the buns got soft pretty quickly. The fries and onion rings were decent. Beer we ordered was bottled. I think they had another brand on tap. The shake on the other hand was amazing! I was so excited to see it on the menu since I missed it the last time they had it. They really put a good amount of kataifi and pistachios on top which provided great texture. The chocolate shell lining on the cup was a nice touch as well. Lots of seating inside and out. Bathrooms were clean and staff were friendly.
