Angry little man, the owner really rude.. horrible example to his staff on how to treat customers. I felt he thought that because it was his business and he thought he was in the right he didn't need to be polite. I walk up holding a beer had no idea anything was wrong and he rudely yelled at me and said I couldn't bring it in. Mind you I didn't even realize it was an issue, gladly poured it out and apologized. Somehow that wasn't enough for him he continued to be a D!cK. I hate people like this... I still give these guys 5 Star for quality, flavor and service. Tonight got a medium combo of salami, pepperoni, garlic, mushroom and olive. Pic below. The sauce is a kid-friendly slightly sweet Italian flavor which seemed different than I remember but still excellent and the crust made it great to eat dinner, drink a beer and watch the sunset from the comfort of our hotel room. We ordered a medium Western - Deeeelish! The cashews are a brilliant addition to this bbq style pizza. There was enough for 2 meals for 2, but it was really tempting to stuff ourselves :D Staff is friendly and and helpful - and doing their best! This place is super popular, so order and pay ahead (add a tip - let's keep them going!) and pick up is pretty easy. Otherwise, there is only one person allowed inside at a time and the wait can be long. read more

My friends and I were on a road trip and there were no options for miles for some of us and the guy here went above and beyond to accommodate us and was super patient! 4.5 stars. Vegetarian was good. Meat lovers was very good. Fresh basil on the margarita was just right. Nice folks working there. We went on a quiet Monday night and ate there as pizza is always best right from the oven. Ambience is bare bones. Could use some music to warm the place up. Definitely will go back. read more

Really wish I had the four and a half star experience that everyone else had. The pizza is quite good, hence 2 stars instead of an angry 1. Unfortunately the task of taking a four-pizza order over the telephone and accurately fulfilling it was too daunting for the restaurant on this particular evening. We were looking forward to trying the place out but our optimism rapidly dwindled when the woman who took our order on the phone seemed extremely confused and overwhelmed by our order. She kept forgetting what pizzas and toppings we had ordered mere seconds before. Honestly I'm not trying to be a jerk but she sounded pretty baked. Who knows. Anyway when a few members of our party went to get the pizza, they tried to check the order at the counter to make sure everything was accurate but the girl working the register (pretty sure it was the same person who took the order) impatiently said she needed to serve the person behind us and basically shooed us out of the way. Well what do you know, they got back to the house and the order was wrong. We called and asked for a replacement pizza or a refund and they said we could only get either of those outcomes if we drove back down to the pizza place. Who wants to get up and drive back to the restaurant once we've all sat down for dinner? So we paid for a pizza that we didn't want and one of the members of our party didn't have any pizza that they could eat. It sucked, and the restaurant was not apologetic or accommodating at all. read more

Supringfly good pizza from this small place location on Hwy 1, north of Sea Ranch. When I'm in the need for something quick, delicious and really good, this is where I go. If you are in Sea Ranch and call in your order, by the time you drive up there it's about ready. You can take it away or eat inside although there aren't too many tables. Youngish staff are always super nice and polite and hustle - nobody is sitting idle in that place! It would be a solid place outside of Gualala, too so it's not one of those "only choice" disappointments. read more

I used to work in an authentic Italian Restaurant. The mother dough (sourdough) was over 50 years old, everything was made from fresh ingredients. Daaaaaaang you guys took me back, pizza was great, worth the wait. I do not have enough for a tip, but I bought 2 pizzas instead of one to make up for it!! And will be spreading the word about this little gem. I grabbed a couple of paper menus to bring back to my friends (she owns a rental at Sea Ranch), I'm no influencer, but need to do my part to keep this wonder spot on the top of the list. We drove for about an hour trying to find a restaurant that was open on our vacation and found Upper Crust Pizzeria in Galala. I have to admit I was not excited cuz I'm really picky about my pizza and so is my boyfriend. I ordered thin crust, white sauce, chicken, pepperoni, bacon, onion, garlic,basil, and anchovies and it was the best pizza I think I've ever had and the crust was amazing. Taylor the chef rates a 10 in my book and Curt was the one who took my order correctly. My boyfriend ordered a combination and said it was the best pizza he's ever had and he never compliments anything especially pizza. I'd definitely eat there again. read more

Oh, Lord! Have they gone downhill! So, we've been living in Gualala 4 1/2 years. I've been getting most of my pizzas from Gualala Pizza, where they also make pretty good Mexican cuisine, and sandwiches as well. Only problem is with their restricted hours of operation, and that's when we've gone with Upper Crust, which is open till 8 p.m. My roomie & I wanted different toppings, so we ordered two mediums. Sorry to say, the crusts on both pies was tough, as though the dough had been "overworked", and both had also been overbaked, so the toppings were problematic as well (the ham on her Hawaiian was like overcooked bacon). I called in after our first slice to alert them to the situation, so hopefully they will pursue some quality control measures after this. But -- I'm sorry to say -- after wasting our appetites (and 45 bucks) I won't be a returning customer after this.... read more

Wow! Staying in Gualala for a short COVID compliant vacation and wanted something simple for dinner after a long drive. Ordered a few different pies and we were disappointed by none of them. Their crust is thin, fluffy, chewy and crusty all at the same time. Some of the best crust that I've ever had... really, it's that good. Had the Gio which was delightfully spicy along with a chicken pesto and a custom pie. Toppings were plentiful, fresh and tasty. Gualala is one of my favorite vacation spots and I eat at Upper Crust every time I'm in town. They do a sourdough crust which is thinner than other crust styles but what you lose in fluffiness you'll make up for in tart, tangy bite. I recommend the vegetarian pesto which has amazing fresh tomato and basil. Me and my partner always polish off 70% of a large between the two of us even if we say we're going to save some for later. read more

After tipping $10.. the pizza was good, thin crust, but they also forgot an ingredient on the pizza (jalapeño on their spicy Hawaiian).. Wings were dry and salty.
