i love this place. Highly recommended. Great service, everyone is nice there is a great vibe and is just a cool environment. I get my hair cut here and refer it to all my friends. But i do tell them that there is a bit of a wait most times it is best to get a cut during the week with an appointment. Im new to the area from L.A. and have been looking for a local barber and I found this spot . I arrived at a very nice storefront that was just as clean inside as out . No lack of parking or any loitering . Was welcomed by Tammele who was very friendly and easily broke the ice with good convo . Due to being a walk in with no appointment I was directed to Michelle . I was a lil nervous because years ago a female barber butchered me . Michelle was the best choice for me today . My tapered was to the skin and my lining was very straight and she didnt take me back. She brought my waves back to life . Excellent skills and attention to detail . I will be making an appt and be returning soon . I have two young boys who have been going to Upper Kutz for about two years now. My youngest was 1 years old when we started coming and they have always been very good with the kids. Its rare to find a GOOD barber that has patience for small children. ALL of their barbers are very good at what they do and I never feel like I have to only wait on one or two. Its a wonder atmosphere in there, its always busy so I recommend making an appointment. Shop is always clean, staff is always friendly and they always make sure you leave looking fresh! read more

Its been a month, my hair is still jacked up. Not a day went by where I don't regret going there. Maybe if someone else cut it, it would have came out decent, but Pete is garbage, he cut my hair twice and both times it was a waste of $15. Both times it was uneven. I had to have my friend fix it after. He had to ask 3 separate times if I wanted a comb over, he doesn't understand the concept of an undercut. I have the top of my hair blonde, he tried to fade it in with the left side and it left a straight edge, which is still there. I cannot stress this enough how bad it was, its easily another 3 months before the messed up bit in the front catches up with the rest of my hair. read more

Went here because I wanted a female barber (there were two at the time). Got a great fade. Good price, clean shop, good customer service, and I got a coupon. The barber asked me plenty of questions about what I wanted instead of just giving me whatever cut she wanted, like some barbers do. I've been to barbers who told me that they don't know how to cut my hair. Upper Kutz does everybody's hair, like professionals should. And they take credit cards! read more

I would NOT got back to this place again. The person that cut my hair did a worst job she or he did everything the opposite cut where she or he was not supposed to and left everything else I still have hair where I'm supposed to not have hair and you call yourself a barber. I wouldn't even take my dog to get a haircut at this place. And that's so-called hairspray that they used smell so bad why would you do that if you don't know how to give a haircut maybe you should go flip burgers close shop. Right about now my review is about average length but Google is urging me to write on so here it goes they were more concerned about their stupid conversation that they were talking about then the customers hair and how they want their haircut hence why I'm thinking they should go flip burgers instead. I think another reviewer said it. They will make you wait and cut the first person who comes in. I think it's because the barbers are looking for some easy hair to cut. This place is not somewhere you go to and get a really great fade or any great cut. This place is a place you go to when in a rush and last resort. Fade? Nope! Seems like everyone who goes here has the same haircut, everyone. I had long hair and just want to get it cut short. I reallyj didn't care too much if was great. I already knew just by looking at the hair cutting going on that this was going bad. I've had bad cut at different places. But it had been a while and my hair grows extremely fast. I can seriously get a cut twice a week because it grows. Anyone who really cares about their hair would have left quick. But I just wanted it cut and didn't want to do it myself. I'm pretty good but why do it when someone else can, lol. I sat down , then another dude came in .the barber had just finished he look at my long hair ,nope, call the dude over. Really? I was already thinking of leaving and going next door to the Asian place. Honestly for the price I should of went there and still get a butchered cut. Another barber came in and cut my hair. Dude was cool but, like I said I can cut, he was all over the place. I wanted my hair cut down from 8in on top to half or a bit less( something decent), #2 on side medium faded. I also wanted a parting line. Nope I got a #2 on side super high and tight. Like he put his palm and cut around. The top I can't do a comb over. Has hair all sorts of sizes. To give you a better idea cut your head with a #2 and the get a bunch of hair in the form of your hand and place it on your head. Yup, that's what it looked like. I'm luck because in a couple of days I'm getting another cut. My hair grows quick. But I did trim a little, some of the hairs were really long. No excuses for missing that. Like I said its not a bad place but don't go in there expecting a great fade or other cut. This place is honestly like some of the Asian places around a military base. But if it's your last resort, this is your place. read more

Very poor customer service. They will say hi to you and leave you waiting for others that call on the phones and make appts ignoring the fact that you've been sitting for a while. read more
