Had wings, NY strip, and BLTA. As you can see from the picture, I ordered a medium steak and it was pretty much bone dry well done. Waste of $35 steak there. The BLTA and wings were good. Service was ok, had to wait a while to get refills. Ambiance is a nice bar and grill atmosphere with plenty of TVs to watch sports on. A decent amount of parking with a cool older truck out front. We went 2 different days on our week n Cooperstown! Good food! Burgers had a cool stamp of the restaurant name. Fries were okay. Bang bang shrimp tacos were good without the cold thick tortillas. The staff was hit or miss. One time we had a pretty good waiter. The other trip gave us a terrible waitress! She couldn't even make sure we had drinks. We had the pleasure of seeing an amazing waitress work on both visits. That gal was working for her tips! She gave the top selected items from the menu and specials. Neither of our wait staff even brought up any specials. A manager REALLY needs to work on the consistency of their staff. It diminished the experience! read more

My husband and I visited Upstate Bar & Grill 3 times during our 2-night stay in Cooperstown. It was the ONLY place open to grab dinner when we got in at 9pm on a Sunday night and it did not disappoint. Although they were closing at 10p, we did not feel rushed. My truffle burger with fries was very good and my husband enjoyed his buffalo wrap. We had wine but the beer selection looked very good. We came back the next day to have some drinks and kill some time before dinner. Good happy hour drink specials and we enjoyed the drunken clams. We sat at the bar each time. Service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended for good bar vibes on your Cooperstown visit. read more

This is a noisy place, but lively and fun. The burgers are great. They are mostly what we eat there, but there is something for everyone. The host staff is friendly. The majority of servers are attentive. Prices are a bit high, even in the off-season. I think it would be a great place for visiting kids, families, and teams. read more

We had a very nice lunch here recently . The staff was great and we loved the environment. Menu has varied selections....we had burgers and wow, they were fantastic. Stopped into this restaurant prior to heading to baseball Hall of Fame for a bite to eat after a long drive from Boston. We got here soon after it just opened on Saturday afternoon around 12:30- walked right in and we were lucky they had availability. Nice atmosphere, clean restaurant. We were sat right away and our waitress came shortly afterwards. I ordered the BLT wrap and added turkey - no tomatoes, it came with fries. I haven't ordered a wrap in sometime but was not in mood for burger and it worked out, the wrap tortilla had a bit of crisp to it as well which I enjoyed - there was alot of turkey within the wrap as well. My son ordered NY strip with mashed potatoes and veggies he ate all the steak. There was a lot of mashed potatoes and veggies. My husband ordered the hangover burger . It was a bit messy from my point of view but was cooked well and the portions of all toppings worked out perfectly. The portions of all our orders were large in my opinion, the service was good and we have no complaints. Worked out well that is was also so close to Hall of Fame so if you want a spot for lunch go check it out ! read more

Restaurant was very clean- clean bathrooms! There was actually an employee in the bathroom making sure the sink was spotless and shined when I went in. I always say you can rate your restaurant by the cleanliness of their bathroom... Our food was excellent, our waitress Heather was so lovely. Ahi tuna tacos...messy and wasabi spicy hot with everything fresh and tasty inside. We come to Cooperstown 2 or 3 times a year to visit our adult son who lives here. Every visit, we stop at Upstate Bar and Grill. Every visit is the same satisfying 5-star event. We do visit "out of season" (before Memorial Day - after Labor Day) and have never had an issue with service or the food. Ms I. and I repeated our orders from 6 years ago - Hangover Burger and Tuna Tacos and were very satisfied with them. Draft beer is still nice and cold. Prices don't seem to have risen as much as other places in the intervening period. read more

We ate here for dinner twice while in Cooperstown. Sitting at the bar we had much better service than in the dining area. Our first time in was a Sunday evening. The hostess seemed like she hated her job. It took longer than typical for waitstaff to come over for our drink order and the place was pretty empty. Once we got our food our server disappeared and we didn't see her again for about another half hour. However, the food was really good and they had a long list of local beers, which is why we went back the second night and sat at the bar. We had the Buffalo chicken wrap and the maple bacon bourbon burger. Both were delicious. I recommend trying this place, but sit at the bar if you can. read more

I think this place has potential to be 4+ stars.... great space (indoor and outdoor seating), nice decor, good selections of beer, good service. The thing that lowered the rating for me is their food. We came here on a Friday night as party of 7. The place wasn't busy and we were seated promptly. We ordered blackened chicken tacos, 2 orders of steam clams, ahi tuna nachos, veggie potstickers, and chicken flat bread, and a side of fries. The tacos, flat bread, fries, and tuna nachos were all good... But the steamed clams were disappointing. Clams were small and half of them were empty! That was the case for both orders. The potstickers were soaked in the sauce which made them soggy. They should've served them crispy with dipping sauce on the side. Like I said, the place has potentials, just need some improvements to some of their dishes. read more

10/10. I got the bacon maple bourbon cheeseburger and it was amazing. Flavorful, neat, and the bun is perfect; buttery and soft. My boyfriend got the ny strip steak, and he said it was amazing. The marsala sauce is on point and they cooked the meat exactly how we asked. The steak fries were perfect, too; perfectly crispy. Conveniently located near Cooperstown Dreamspark. A nice varied menu, and pleasant interior. Unfortunately, that's where the good news ends. From the greeting at the front desk to the waiter serving our group of 5 for a mid afternoon it lunch seems we were more of a burden than a welcomed customer. Lunch was adequate at best once it arrived .....1-1/2 hours after the order was placed. Other tables around us who arrived after us were served before us. I realize staffing issues affect everyone, but I think the problem was more the individuals, not the number of employees. Hopefully management reads these reviews and adjusts accordingly. I had the noodles which I wish were a tad better, just a little too drenched in sauce which was a too sweet for my liking. I'd go light on the sauce and then maybe would like it. Amazing establishment. After having a complete nightmare at Toscano and leaving abruptly,we called here and they made an immediate accommodation. Was right after a family members wake so getting us in right away was very helpful. Our waitress Jessica was simply amazing and food was very good!!! Upstate was so good we went twice during our 5 day stay. To start the gentleman working the host desk was absolutely amazing. There was a ton of activity and it was extremely busy but he made a point of being super nice and accommodating to everyone. The servers we had both nights were very welcoming and helpful with menu as we had a personal in our party with severe food allergies. The food was amazing, hangover burger, black and blue burger, and the maple bacon burger were all asked to be done at different levels of doneness and all were cooked to perfection. The Philly cheesesteak and and club sandwiches were huge. Daughter got the Mac and cheese and it was very tasty with thick cheese. Buffalo wings were a great starter. The place was filled with a lot of kids from the baseball tournament but there was plenty of space to move around and we were able to hear each other just fine. Place was pretty busy when we arrived but they seated our party of 10 right away. Server took a while to greet us and to get drinks, but we understood the place was busy and she had other tables. We ordered a variety of dinner entrees - 2 French dip sandwiches, 2 prime rib dinners, shrimp tacos, clams, strip steak, a burger. The clams were great and the price was surprisingly low for how many you get. Shrimp tacos were good and the French dip sandwiches were great. One prime rib was ordered medium & was severely over cooked (pictured). The strip was ordered medium rare and came out borderline well done. Unfortunately, our server didn't stop by our table for 20+ mins after we got our food so we couldn't have the food corrected and also went without a lot of condiments and refills for the remainder of the meal. Maybe we caught them on a bad night, but overall was not impressed by this place at all. read more
