Definitely don't recommend. Brought multiple trash bags of name brand clothes and they gave me $11 dollars for it! Also one of the managers was very unprofessional and witnessed her be disrespectful to other employees. Not a good vibe and Better to just donate clothes. read more

Just avoid the hassle. Their employees are obviously posting about this place. If you don't wait and have them go through your stuff for however many hours they would require, you will be robbed. They told me they took 11 items, totaling $34, but much more was missing from my bags and, they told me they were already either sold or listed by the time I returned. They also tell you they're going to give you 30% of the original cost of your item, and my items were J.Crew, Chubbies, Gap, and I averaged three dollars? Unless you're desperate, donate and take the tax credit, or go to a more reputable place. read more

Uptown Cheapskate is always my favorite place to shop!! They have such good options for such low prices. However I've noticed one of the new associates is a little rude and interrupted me while I was trying to talk to my mother. The name on my receipt is Leslie but I'm not sure if it was Leslie working the register. She asked if we were doing okay after I shot her a look and I appreciated the comment, but first impressions mean a lot to me and I do not appreciate being interrupted while just trying to talk to my mom about if she'd like to use a discount I had. The young woman at the register kept interrupting and told me not to hit the button, and that's not what I was doing. Just was trying to explain it to my mother. read more

This was the second time I've been in the store, and the first time selling clothes there. The check in process was so easy. The staff is extremely professional and pleasant. My favorite part is how they donate what they can't buy to a thrift store who used proceeds from sales for the shelter for women with unexpected pregnancies. I am so over this place. There are the occasional good finds at an extremely cheap price, but I guess they manage that by giving sellers pennies for good items. More than anything I see regular degular no-name clothes from Target, Forever 21, Penney's, and the like- HOWEVER, they never seem to take anything I want to sell. Today I brought in a bin of Lolly Pulitzer, Express, LOFT, and multiple pairs of unworn Steve Madden shoes which they wanted none of. Half of the items in my bin were new with price tags (things that just didn't fit and never got returned). I will never understand their sorting process but it's kind of infuriating. I would rather donate a $50+ piece of clothing to goodwill for free than get a dollar for it from them so they can resell it for an actual profit. For reference, out of an entire storage bin of mostly new clothes, they chose 5 items to take (including Lilly shorts that retail at $60+) for a total of $10 cash. It is honestly always a waste of my time when I come to sell here. Shopping for a lightly used midrange designer purse here at a huge discount is your best bet. read more

The name implies they sell and are looking to buy more upscale clothing but it's really just another platos closet, looking to buy and sell cheap fast fashion clothing. I wouldn't waste your time you can get better deals at your local thrift store and they won't buy any of your nice clothing. read more

The first time I went in the wait was over 3 hours for selling clothes and you can't leave the store during that time. You can leave your stuff there and come back another day but you lose the option to reject an offer so I decided to come back another day. I went back a few days later and discovered they are overly picky about what they will buy from you. I had a ton of nice, recent style and very expensive clothing items with tags on them still in my bin and they only took 4 of the cheaper items for $25. It was disappointing at best and the selection there was just mediocre when I shopped around while waiting. read more

Although I don't live nearby, I really enjoy popping in to Uptown Cheapskate whenever I have the chance. It's very clean and organized, and they have MEN's things which very few do!!! I can always find some treasure there at a great price, like last night's H&M jeans which fit great and found out when purchasing they were even on sale!! Love this place! Staff is super helpful and kindhearted. Everything is well organized and there's always new stuff on the racks. My go to spot for vacation outfits for sure. Bought 3 dresses for my trip to Savannah for the price one should have cost! Everything is gently used consigned items and most look as though they have never been worn! Selection is massive. One down side, my man is not small, and there is a serious lack of larger sizes for men's wear. (XL-XXXL) And larger men's shoe sizes as well. Overall would highly recommend. read more

this was my first experience here, encountered really rude service that aggravated me. wasn't greeted when i came in and that's fine by me but the worker i interacted with was the problem. i was looking at shorts and she practically shoved me out of the way to start putting stuff on the rack. i felt extremely violated and then i realized she worked there and tried to get over it. still was weird that she didn't say anything to acknowledge me. whatever. tried to continue browsing the store for this same worker to rudely get into my personal space a second and third time. i have worked in retail so i understand you need to stock stuff, but you need to be polite and address your customers. this was a terrible first experience and i got so aggravated that i just left. train your employees lmao read more

My wife and daughter really like uptown cheapskate. This is the shop located in the same shopping center with Whole Foods on San Jose Blvd. They sell resale women's clothing. They're very easy to deal with when you're turning in clothes and we feel that they give you a fair price for your clothes that they except... plus... they set up to donate the clothes that they do not accept. They have great values on clothing. They have most of the most recent styles. The people are friendly and easy to work with. Parking is very easy. And they are very quick to go through the things that you bring in and have your refund ready to go. We like this place. read more

Loved Uptown Cheapskate in my opinion it's definitely one of the better higher end consignment shop for Woman and Men! I bought a few things with tags still on them, very well priced. I definitely can say out of any consignment Shop in Jacksonville, FL they had the best selection in Shoes both On the Dresser Side and Sneakers as well! I was amazed with the variety of Brands , how different they all were! Tons of Designer Jeans, lots of tank tops, Designer Jackets, Winter Gear, Purses, etc. I've finally found a place I can take my gently used items and get a fair amount for them but I've always taken the store credit, which is 25% more of what you would've made in cash!
