I love this store! The clothes are super cute and in style! I like that all sizes are sold and that plenty of dressing rooms are always available. Mikhail has the best customer service that I have ever experienced at a retail store. I HATE going shopping, but when he was helping me pick out clothes, I didn't feel stressed at all. He got clothes that fit my body type and made me feel like I was having fun doing it. He is one of the main reasons why I have come back to this store multiple times. Nicely organized and reasonable prices. Most clothes have holes/tears so you have to really check over the items carefully. There could be better brand names available but sometimes you will find a great brand at a great price. The sales associates don't help out too much with getting rooms started or being very personable; except for one employee. I forget her name but she has been there a while! I've bought and sold here multiple times. Seems like every time I go, they buy less and less, which is understandable. I was not greeted when I walked in. I had to stand by the selling station and make it noticeable that I was trying to sell. After I was noticed and helped, I looked around a bit. Seemed like I was the only one not greeted because I heard multiple greetings after that. Overall, they are doing better with their customer service because I did not see the usual employees that are snooty. I come here regularly to shop and sell my clothes and I have always had a great experience with wonderful hardworking people. I came in last night and wasn't greeted and then went to the selling station in which both girls walked away while I stood there for 10 minutes before they finally came back. The whole time they were snickering and talking under their breath not greeting an customers. I have never had such an unprofessional and disrespectful attitude before. i've been a customer here since they've opened the store & i've been a huge fan ever since ! there's so much options to choose from wether it's shoes, all sorts of different accessories, & even clothes ! it's very trendy too which i love a lot. the employees are great here they treat me really well. today I walked to the fitting room & my name was already on the door all set for me , so nice . if you sale your clothes here you have the option to receive cash or receive store credit ! everything about this thrift store is great . You even are able to sale your shoes here or your purses/bags/sunglasses (as long as they are in good enough condition & are trending too) which is understandable. they sale guys clothes too l! my boyfriend has shopped here before too & hes loved his purchases! Unless you carry a student ID from Saddleback College or shop at forever 21 don't even try to sell things at this store! I may not be in my 20's but the items I brought in there were clean, on hangers, and I would say 80% were in style because I saw the same items for sale on the racks! Many of my things still have tags on them and were bought from cute boutiques NOT Forever 21!! So when I went back and all they offered me was $2.50 for one scarf out of about 30 items..I said thank you but no thank you! I have been in three times to sell, and have been put off every time. The wait is an hour or longer, and their suggestion is to just drop the bags off and return later. Seriously? I want to know exactly what they are taking, and for what price. If I was interested in a free-for-all, I'd just spread the clothes out on the driveway, and leave a tip jar. read more

Few times I have visited uptown cheapskate have always been a pleasurable experience. The store is always neat and organized and there is always tons of stuff to browse through. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and willing to help. Check out the front designer case. Some really nice finds in there!!!! The costume jewelry selection is also terrific. This is my first time here and first, right off the bat, my sister and I were not greeted. We were in the store for about an hour. Two girls were working. They knew we were there. Instead of greeting us, helping us or asking if we needed anything, they bickered back and fourth about "omg I don't even know why I came to work today" and "ugh I have to stay until 5pm". They complained about working there and then the gossiped the whole time and every other thing they said was "omg are you fucking kidding me" and "shut the fuck up". Although I didn't hear them talk to customers that way they surely didn't care that there were customers in the store. They were eating breakfast behind the counter and discussing whether or not they were going to actually do work or not. I would give this place 4 stars because it had a lot to chose from and a ton of cute items but prices were a little high for a thrift store in my opinion. I did buy one shirt for $10. But this place gets a 1 star because I liked the clothes but the way the employees are there just a turn off. Doesn't feel inviting at all and even when we went up to the counter to get a dressing room the two girls were just talking and didn't even ask us if we needed anything. Umm hello. Yes I would like to try on some shirts please...? Chances are I probably won't go back even tho I like the selection of clothes they had. Unfortunately the employees ruined it for me. read more

I used to love this place. They had great prices, current styles in good condition, and friendly service. Now, the clothes are hardly stylish, more than gently worn, and overpriced. The service is horrible. They might yell a hello as you walk into the door, but don't expect anyone to offer you their assistance or so much as glance in your direction. I just left after listening to the girls behind the counter have a conversation amongst themselves about boob size and having another one just about run me down in the isle without so much as an "excuse me" to return to her task of price marking items. The selection is mediocre at best and the pricing is obnoxious. I'm not sure what makes them think anyone would buy used clothes that aren't in great condition for only a few dollars less than what they can buy it new for. Especially Charlotte Russe or Forever 21. Sad to see a great place go downhill. I'll stick to Crossroads and Plato's Closet for my consignment shopping. read more

I have been going to uptown over the last year because I have found it easier to shop the way they have the store organized. It is always a quick visit for me grabbing and running to the dressing room which gives them the 3 star rating. That being said, I disagree with the standard of clothes they accept. They have some pretty tattered things on the rack for sale over priced when I have witnessed them turn down quality trendy clothes from my own bags I have brought, and witnessed it many times with other customers trying to sell. I must say I haven't been trained on their protocol for what they are allowed to accept and what not, however I still think that the lack of retail experience and lack of work ethic of the young employees shows. I worked in retail for 3+ years so I am not openly scrutinizing without firsthand experience. A little sense of urgency and a friendlier vibe is all this place really needs from its employees to earn it 5 stars! read more

So I dropped someone off for an interview there, and the owner, the one who gave the interviews, wasn't even there. I decided to shop while I was waiting too, and I don't even get a hello when I walk in. All the staff just proceeded to look at me, then continue talking at the counter. I was shopping for a good 20-30 minutes. No one even came to check on me. They just don't care. I tried something on, and the only reason someone said something to me is because they were standing outside my fitting room. And no thank you for coming in even when I left. I'm never coming back. They need to figure out what good customer service is because it was trash. Even the next time my friend needed a drivers license to turn in clothes, not even a hello again. They didn't even acknowledge I walked in. And didn't say thank you when I let them use my ID. I honestly hate this place. It's horribly run and it needs a lot of work. read more

I was a little shocked at their "appraisal" process. I went up to the counter and dropped off my items, the young girl told me i'd have to wait 45 minutes because there was a " line of people before you". which was no problem because i was excited and wanted to shop around. When they called me back to the counter i was shocked that they only took 2 of my items ( target pumps & brand new, tags attached jessica simpson clutch" for only $7 bucks or $8 store credit. They told me the reason why they didn't take my other items ( juicy couture daydreamer bag, hot pink juicy couture terry wallet, black mini size coach bag) was because they were "DIRTY". I just took my items back and walked around to see the other handbags, and let me tell you...those were dirty!! I had cleaned and dusted the inside and outside of my bags which were lightly worn. I guess i'm better off selling on craigslist or ebay!! No more going to that store! OHHH!! and they aren't very friendly. Especially the owner.
