I like shopping here at times, but there are better recyclable designer resellers out there. Selling here is a different story. It seems like they cater only to teenage apparel. No wonder why that's the only traction they receive. I've got paid $7 for 5 items which costed me well over $120 in the past year. I've decided to never sell here again. Also looking into never shopping here as well as they do not offer a versatile selection and caters to a certain demographic and age bracket. I used to really like selling to this location but the last 2 times they've told me the wait was 3+ hours, then not ever contacted me when it was done or contacted me at 8:30 pm. I didn't collect my bags that same day because they did not tell me the sale was done, and they donated all of my bags. Very frustrating that I ended up losing MY bags that I PAID FOR because they neglected to tell me that my order was done til 8:30 pm. If they aren't going to accept plastic bags it is absolutely ridiculous that they donate bags at the end of the night after not informing me my sale was done. read more

By far the worst Uptown location. The selection is poor, and the staff spend more time flirting with each other than helping customers. They also refused to buy clothes at ~6:50pm because "they stop buying clothes at 7:00." If you're even close to that cutoff, don't bother. read more

Love this location! I have been coming since they opened and just can't get enough. A lot of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe have come from Uptown. I love that I can get gently used Free People for a fraction of what I would pay at full price. I also really like their brand new items they order in. Some of them cost a bit more than the used items, but they are so cute and still way cheaper than what you would pay at a boutiques I also am a huge fan of the service! Everyone is always so nice and helpful; the buyers are skilled and quick! The owner is also just the cutest, he makes everyone feel so welcome and comfortable shopping there. I'm hooked on Uptown SJ; it's a 40 minute drive for me, there's literally an Uptown 5 minutes away from me, but I drive to South Jordan because of how fantastic it is. Love you guys! read more

Went here to sell some of my items last week. I usually go to the location in American fork but since moving this one is the closest to my house. Anyway, I work retail so I always expect a-least a warm welcome.. no one greeting me when I walked in. I walked up to the counter and not even a "Hello." The first thing the girl said was "have you sold to us before and handed me a piece of paper to fill out, didn't ask for my clothes, awkwardly I went around and gave her my basket. Then when it was done she just told me how much she could give me, I took the cash and left. She didn't even say have a good day. She looked like she hated her job.. Never going back here again, I much rather drive in traffic for better service. read more

I came in to sell some clothes. And when I say "some" I actually mean years worth of clothes jam packed into 5 trash bags plus shoes. I felt a little guilty lugging in my trash bags knowing it would take some time for them to sort through, but they didn't even flinch. Apparently, the most they've seen was someone with 20 trash bag fulls of clothes, plus multiple bags of jewelry and piles of shoes. Yikes. For my modestly sized stash, it took about 30 min for them to sort through. Here's the breakdown. 1. If you've never sold with them before you need to show them ID and fill out a selling form so they can input your info into their system. 2. You can either wait there or leave and they will call or email you when they are done sorting. 3. One person sorts for damages then passes the items onto a buy who then determines which styles they can accept. 4. The accepted items go into a basket and the they tallie up the total that you'll get at the end. You don't get a break down of how much you're getting for each individual item. 5. When they're done, they'll let you know how much the offer is for the accepted items. You get more if you choose to get store credit. They ended up taking 24 of my items. I got about $80 cash. I know it seems like it doesn't make sense how they select items but I try to think of it in their perspective. They have to go on what their customers are buying. Not what necessarily is worth a lot or what you might think is in fashion. I had some high end stuff like Theory and True Religion that they couldn't take for various reasons, while pretty much anything Free People was a shoo-in. They know what sells in their store and I don't so I try not to take offense to what they accept or don't. They also admittedly don't offer you very much for your clothes, but I get it. People shopping at their stores are looking for a deal so they have to sell it for much under retail. They also have to make a profit to keep doors open, so they won't offer you very much for inventory (30% of what they sell it for is what you get). It sucks. But it's a quick way of getting rid of stuff that has been collecting dust and making a quick buck. If you want to get a more fair deal, selling online is the better way to go! Other tips: they don't accept formal wear, and right now, they're only offering store credit for winter items. read more

Love this place! I have found some awesome deals here. It's also perfect for teenagers! We have found many pairs of barely used Vans for only $20! You're only as good as your customer service. I was in the store yesterday selling some items and shopping for new pieces. This was my first time at this location. While ringing up, they informed me that they don't offer any discount on my buy, after selling clothes to them. Every other location gives 10% off your purchase when you sell to them. Annoying, but whatever. I go to leave and beep out the door. Staff assured me "oh you're fine!" Clearly I wasn't fine because when I got home 30 minutes away, there was a security tag stuck on my new shirt. The next day, I drove to my closest location (American fork). Unfortunately, they use different tools at different locations to remove the security tag. Even though they weren't able to remove it, staff kindly apologized for the other's error and said "they should give you a credit of some sort". I took an hour out of my work day to go all the way back to have it removed at south Jordan with receipt. I said I'd like if they'd offer me a credit of some type for the inconvenience. While the girl there was nice, She said "We don't offer that." No other explanation. No attempt to make it better. So, cool. I'm out of time and gas to go back for your mistake and you do nothing about it. I didn't have the time or energy to argue it. "We can't do this. We can't do that" well, what CAN you do?? Both times I was there were a miss. I'll never be back to that location. They had a good selection but their dressing rooms were trashed and unattended. read more

Te employees and manager were VERY rude and hard to work with. They were snippy when my husband didn't know if we had an account. Then We made the mistake of bringing clothes in, to see if they would take any, in a bag instead of a reusable bin. We asked why they wouldn't take them and they said it was unsightly. Then just refused to take or look at them. We talked to the manager on the phone to ask why we couldn't just hand them the clothes out of the bag and instead of explaining said the same thing as the employees."we just don't do that" then when we asked if we could take them out of the bag to hand them to the employees she said "fine " and then actually hung up on us. We proceeded to remove the clothes from the bag and "hand them" to the employees, because that makes sense. Many of them were barely worn, nice, brand name things, and I presume because they were annoyed by the questions and us, they just quickly glanced and said they wouldn't buy any of it. We ended up donating the clothes anyway because we didn't want the hassle of that kind of experience again. Left a pretty sour taste. I recommend the fashion place location, a much friendlier experience there. read more

Every time I have come to this location I have been treated terribly. The staff is beyond unfriendly and spends most of their time having attitude towards customers or flirting with each other. It is truly ridiculous. Every single time I think that maybe the result will be different but, EVERY single time, it is the same. Not to mention, that their buying/selling policies are misleading and their selection of clothing is mostly things from SHEIN that they just hike up the price on. On their door, they say that they close at 7 for buying and selling but, once you bring all your stuff in, they tell you that it is actually 6:30. In my case, I was only FIVE minutes past but, instead of comprising, empathizing, or doing anything that employees should do, or even basic citizens, they made no exceptions and treated me as if i was lesser than them. I truly wouldn't wish this behavior on my worst enemy. Just be prepared to be treated like crap when you walk through those doors. read more

I have gone here twice and probably won't come in again. The first time I walked in I wanted to sell clothes and it's was fine until they told me I had to stay in the store which also was fine with me but I waited 2 hours in the store before they were finally done. Of course while I was waiting I took a look around but there was nothing worthy of buying. After about an hour of waiting I just hung out for another hour because they told me I couldn't leave if it was my first time selling to them. It frustrated me and on top of that they didn't take anything "I wasn't hoping they would take anything I just wanted to see" anyways the second time I walked in it smelt so bad of throw up. I seriously couldn't stay in there longer then 2 mins and i took a look around the was a complete disaster. After that experience I won't go back. Maybe if they decide to clean up a bit. read more

I love this place so much! It is in a more expensive area to live in so the clothing is usually better brands and cuter clothing than other consignment stores I've been to! If you choose to sell to them, they usually give you a little more money if you do in store credit. So if you're wanting to sell to make money, you might be disappointed (they give you more money than Platos Closet though) so in my opinion, it's better to sell your old clothes and get new ones at the same time! Stopped in at this location for the first time today. Brought a bag of clothes in to sell.They only wanted three of my dresses. Which really surprised me because I had brought in other designer items that I thought they might be interested in. They ended up taking a Michael Kors Dress, Ann Taylor Dress and a Victora Secret Moda International dress.I got an offer of $21 or a store credit of $28. The staff were friendly. Be prepared to show your drivers license or passport if your going to sell clothes. They require that. I thought the selection in the store was good. The place was slammed for it being a Saturday. In the end, I ended up walking out with an $8 dress I found here and the items they didn't want from me. Not a bad experience. I will say the prices are very low. I would sell clothes here again in the future. But don't expect them to take everything you bring in. They seem to be very selective. read more
