Nice people but they've destroyed three garments thus far. One was sheer mesh turtleneck, completely torn. No explanation and I found out when I got home. Second was a dress, they broke the zipper and once more I didn't find out until I got home when I tried to wear the dress and realized the zipper no longer when all the way down because it's broken but mysteriously zipped up. The last was a delicate lace dress that I discovered now has a tear inside and they felt the need to staple the label. I just can't. I work hard for my money and clothes. I rather spend more on a more reliable dry cleaner that won't destroy my clothes read more

Great neighborhood place to get your dry cleaning done. They have a plant onsite so if you need a quick turn around within a few hours, they can usually get it done. Incredibly kind owners who will remember you after a handful of times going. Note, I did get some alterations done here and I wasn't overly thrilled with the work. For alterations, I'd HIGHLY recommend going to Arlene's Cleaners in the Marina. The woman there is incredible. read more

I tried this place because it's close by and conveniently located and everything was great except the cleaning part. My white shirts had some basic dirt that I got rid of afterwards with a basic wash but I feel clothes came back as dirty as I gave them. They were ironed, starched and well presented just not well cleaned. Hate to redo laundry after laundry! read more

Go to Town. In general dry cleaning is expensive. The thought of dropping off your favorite things that will soon be held hostage for $50+ sucks. Worse is when you pay a ton and it's not done well, or your clothes are ruined, come back with broken or missing buttons. It's like ... bad sushi. you don't know until well after you've paid the large bill and it makes you sick. Not the case at Town Cleaners. Fair prices. Great, friendly service. And your clothes come back in perfect condition. Even better, when you need something in a day or two, your request is met with a friendly smile and "Yes". read more

I have been a customer for 20 years and have never had an issue until now. I took in some mens shirts and a long dress to be altered and received a receipt which included approximately $40 to alter the dress and press it. When I arrived to pick up the items, I was charged $107 for the long dress. Apparently the quote I received was way off, but I was never notified that it was incorrect and it would cost more to do the alterations. If I had been notified of this increased cost, I would NOT have done the alterations. They would not allow me to take the shirts without taking the dress and paying the increased cost. I explained that I do not question that the alterations work was more involved, but they did not communicate with me and give me the opportunity to decline the alterations work. They did not offer any solution other than me paying the entire cost. They made a mistake and I had to pay for it. read more

Don't go here. I've been going here for a few years now, and recently brought in a brand-new silk halter top, cost me over $200. It has a thick fabric hoop with a metal closure for the neck part. When I arrived, the woman said she wasn't sure whether the neck part could go in the machine, but she'd ask. She brought it back with her, and when she came back they had picked apart the threads holding the knot around the hoop and undone the knot a little. It wouldn't be so bad except I never gave them the ok to do that to my garment. When I complained that it appeared they ruined my blouse, the woman brought it back again and they sort of fixed it, but it now fits funny and I'm going to have to bring it to a professional tailor to be fixed (hopefully). I'm beyond furious about this. There is nothing they can do to fix the fact that they thought it would be OK to ruin someone's clothes. read more

A friend once informed me that while I have "many great qualities, grace is not one of them" after watching me fall not once, not twice, but three times over the same restaurant heat lamp. Shocking, I know (unless you were around for the time I ran headfirst into a street lamp while trying to hail a cab in Athens....) Regardless, one thing I will cop to is my tendency to drop some portion of my breakfast, lunch, dinner, the occasional highlighter pen, and, ok let's be honest, the wine interspersed throughout the aforementioned meals, on some portion of my clothes. Enter Town Cleaners. Not only does this place always get out the many stains I present, they also manage to sew back on the buttons and cuffs I manage to rip and/or lose. Even when it takes me a month between visits, they remember me, my number and my account, and always manage to get my clothes done quickly. The only reason I have even docked them a star is because they get my clothes so damn clean I have less of an excuse to shop. read more

Very disappointed in my first and only time here because they ruined a silk dress. I checked all my dresses before and after bringing them here (they effectively got a stain out of a white dress) but created stains on another one. They had me leave the dress for them to re-clean but apparently couldn't get the stains out. I talked to the owner for around 15 minutes and he just insisted it was my fault and that there was no way they could have caused the stain (he told me at one point that noone brings clothes in that aren't stained so it was obviously already there before). I'm furious at them for ruining a silk dress that isn't even a month old. I'm finding a different dry cleaners from now on but if you go here, take pictures of your clothes before you bring them or else the blame will probably be placed on you. read more

This place is fantastic. The prices are great, they've cleaned shirts that had funky stains, handled really great jean hems at a fraction of the cost of tailors, and even replaced buttons for free. They also remember your name and info and are always pleasant. read more

I found Up Town Cleaners when looking online for a place nearby to get some alterations done. I needed two pairs of jeans hemmed, and they look great! They even added the orange colored thread to the seam of blue jeans to look more like a finished pair of jeans- very happy with this small detail! Will definitely return for more alterations/ cleaning needs soon! read more

Great cleaners. Its definitely expensive for me, but I think that's because I bring in half my wardrobe when I go. And its annoying that women's clothes are more expensive to clean than guys, but not sure if that's much different that other places. They are always prompt, they have never messed up my clothes, and they are always nice. Only other bad thing is that they are closed on Sundays. They also take back your hangers, which I find to be very enviro-friendly! read more

Town Cleaners, on California and Divis, is my neighborhood dry cleaners. They get my clothes clean and on time, and they're a bit cheaper than any other dry cleaner in the neighborhood. By my third visit, the woman who works there knew me by sight and pulled up my info as soon as I walked in. One time I was in a hurry and had to park in the driveway of the house next door (sorry! Won't do it again, honest), and she saw me coming from the window and had my clothes ready for me when I walked in. That's service! read more

This dry cleaners is cheap compared to nearby establishments, but this is a case of "you get what you pay for". I've taken clothes with various stains here only to have them not entirely cleaned off despite forewarning them of areas needing special focus. They also don't provide the personalized service I'm accustomed to. Previous dry cleaners I've frequented knew my name by heart within a couple of visits. I've been going to Town Cleaners biweekly for two years, and they still didn't know my name. I kept coming back since the prices are great. The last straw, though, was when the string for my dress went missing making the garment completely unwearable. They denied losing the string when I brought it to their attention. I'd rather pay a couple of dollars more at another establishment knowing that they'd do a better job and be responsible for their own mistakes. read more

Amazing! They were somehow able to get out a 2 year old stain from my favorite work pants. They charged around $4... maybe $4.50, but for this pair it was worth it. Maybe for other clothes I'd rather go to a cheaper place such as Rainbow Cleaners on Kearny, but I'm happy to pay a little extra for special items. read more

I agree with Dory D., this place rocks!!! SHE is amazing and yes, will remember all your info so you never have to remember your phone number again. No matter if it's the weekend and I'm in my workout gear with a hat on, or I'm in my business suit coming straight off of work, she's got it down. She even remembers your preferences, as mine is "no crease" on my pants! I haven't really shopped around for price comparisons as I've never been disappointed with them and they are so conveniently located right next to my home and my stuff comes out clean and pressed. read more

I have been a patron here for a couple years at this point and am beginning to look elsewhere. I have a load of items to take in but there are still 2+ items in my trunk (still in their dry cleaning plastic wrap) because it looks like they weren't touched at all. I didn't have time to go through each item the last time I was in because my car was dubiously parked in a red zone. Every time that I have brought clothes in - at least one of them still had marks on it that I had to ask to be redone. Yes - they are affordable but only if you have plenty of spare time to check and recheck items. I am going to have them iron a dress and long skirt for me because that cannot (or at least would be very difficult) to mess up. Also - do not leave things open for their interpretation. I had a few missing buttons on my favorite 'blazer sweater' and asked that they put on similar buttons. "There won't be anyone scrutinizing my buttons, as long as they are the same color and size, matching doesn't matter". I even brought in a couple loose matching buttons. Horrible idea. All the buttons were removed and replaces with pointy triangle buttons. The sweater that looked like a blazer now looks like a pan asian, .... something. Taking that back as well and asking to have the pointy buttons taken off to have it done somewhere else. Now,... to find a new dry cleaners! I'll update on the last go - round if there's improvement - they are nice and affordable but still - sub par. read more

Got the job done in a few days, they did a good job but it is really expensive just for 2 blazers and a dress.

My husband deals with most of our dry cleaning, but when I stop in ever few months, she immediately knows my name and starts gathering up our clothing. Prices are pretty standard and she will also tell you if items should be laundered rather than dry cleaned. A great dependable place to have in the neighborhood. read more
