    Uptown Burger with egg

I always love visiting Uptown Diner. It's an occasional treat, best had after rough college exams or for ending a long week. The quality of the food is consistently excellent, and I still haven't had a single thing I didn't love. Their fries are crispy but not burnt, their burgers excellently-cooled, and they always come out hot (even if it might take a little longer than expected). While the food is wonderful, the service and atmosphere don't lack either. Soft music, friendly staff, and cozy booths make every visit comfortable besides being tasty. On a cool day, drop in and try out a sandwich and hot cocoa; I'm sure you'll love it!

The food is great, never a bad meal here. The hours are great and you can't beat the service. Our server was handling over 4 tables and we never had to ask for refills. The ambiance gives the old dinner feel.

This is the buffalo chicken salad and waffle fries (Sorry for the bad photo. I figured something is better than nothing.)

Uptown diner has good food but it rather expensive. Despite this, their staff is friendly and this is a great later night option. We love their waffle fries, egg dishes (egg white scramble), and burger. FOOD: Pretty good diner food. Not much more to say here. It's a diner and lives up to the title. Waffle fries are highly recommended. SERVICE: Reliably friendly PARKING: easy on the side of the restaurant on Hennepin. PRICE: definitely expensive. And more than you'd expect. But if you're craving diner food, it can hit the spot and be worth it. AMBIANCE: We order to go most of the time. But the interior has a typical diner feel.

Food: The food we ordered was great. I ordered a pineapple upside down pancake and oh lord that was so delicious. My best friend got the spicy Cajun Benedict and it was amazing too. They had a variety of sweet and savory dishes. Honestly would recommend. Although it is on the pricier side. Most meals averaged between $15 - $17. So a good splurge meal for a self care day. Service: The service was amazing. We were welcomed with smiles and the ladies who were there were truly amazing. Ambiance: It looks exactly what you would think a diner looks like. I loved the design and the blue was very complimentary. The booth area was my fave of course and they have plugs in certain areas. It gives a nice calm time to eat. Atleast the time we went which was around 3pm. Parking: They have parking which was amazing. Didn't have to pay for parking either. So easy and convenient. I was truly impressed and enjoyed the food and ambiance.

We've been here many times, as it's my wife's go-to breakfast spot when we're in the cities. We usually have no trouble getting seated quickly, and the food comes out pretty quickly as well. Menu selection is good and I don't think I've ever had anything I haven't liked. The service has always been good as well. They also have ample off street parking. I can't say it's amazing - it's a pretty standard diner experience - the food is good but not out of this world. I did notice this time though, that the hotcake syrup seemed watered down. It wasn't very thick at all and tasted bland. It's usually busy and has a nice vibe. Even though I am not blown away by it - I will come back. If you just want a classic hot breakfast and coffee, and to get in and out quickly, you'll like it.

Side of Hollandaise El Cubano Sandwich Coffee everything omelet

Ignore my fiancé being goofy with our personal receipts, Not worth the money, paid $15 alone for two regular cups of coffee and Side of Hollandaise, friendly environment and staffing but just not worth the money, I have been to real and better diners than this.

I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good breakfast spot. They have all the classics on the menu & the service is great. I have never had to wait for a table & the food come out quick!

This place never fails to disappoint...warm, delicious, comforting breakfast food that is honestly more food than you can eat..but did that stop us from snarfing our food down? Nope! If you're looking for a pick-me-up, a nice breakfast with pals, and hot and delicious comfort food, head over to Uptown Diner. You will not be disappointed. There is a parking lot in the back with a decent amount of space. Go early if you want to get in since there are restrictions due to COVID-19! (Not pictured: my group's appetizer cinnamon roll )

The gyro omelet, terrible just terrible..

The gyro omelet, terrible just terrible..they use prepackaged gyro meat that when cooked turned the omelet into a great grease disaster. The service was great the atmosphere was nice too..

This makes the burger really chewy and you really can't taste the beef anymore like you used to when it was thicker. I would take this as it's not as good as it used to be. It is not as good as the original hype from the beginning. In conclusion, I do not think it's worth the $19. I rather get a cheesesteak for $16 at Tono's which comes with fresh not burnt fries rather than come back here and get a burger here. It's highly unlikely I will be back here. I honestly feel like the burgers have gone way WAY downhill. The fries here have gotten terrible so I stopped getting the fries a long time ago. They are not soft crisp like they used to be. They are too golden brown color, almost like burnt hard fries. I never like to eat down here. I normally would order the Parlour burger upstairs. The basement part which is Parlour has a weird smell like a locker room smell so that's why I don't like to eat down here.

You get west coast mid century modern that feels cozy and hip. The band played from 3-5 which I admit I originally thought was weird. But quickly realized why. This place was created for three reasons: good food, vibes, and family fun. You look around the room and EVERYONE is having a great time. Someone's Grandpa and grandma are having a blast on the Dance floor, kids are laughing, and everyone eating and truly having a wonderful time. The food was SO SO SO good. My husband got the pastrami ribs and I wish I had taken a photo because HOT DAYUM they were fire. And the coolest part about this place is they don't accept tip. Instead there is a surcharge so all employees can have a livable wage and that's so appreciated and you can tell by the service. Everyone we encountered had a genuine smile on their face. For the owners- my husband and I weren't sure if we wanted children and have been going back and forth about it for so long... but being in a safe family environment where fun and good vibes and inclusivity is possible- it hit us like a ton of bricks. Thanks Animales. We will be sure to bring our family here for the years to come

The hostess was extremely unfriendly and seemed very unhappy. She played the game and greeted us, but never once made eye contact, said "welcome in", "thank you for coming in" or anything else that would make a customer feel like they were appreciated for coming in. From the time we walked in to the time she showed us to our table, I said "thank you so much" three times and not once was even acknowledged or replied back with a "you're welcome". She should really find something else to do if she's not going to be a "host". Serving people should be the greatest pleasure we have when engaging with those we don't know. Patrick on the other hand was truly awesome. Friendly, smiling, engaged in conversation prior to taking our order and just seemed happy to talk to us. We told him we were from Nevada and were only there because of a recommendation from a couple in an elevator! He thought that was just awesome. Food arrived and everything was really good. The hash browns were WAY overcooked, almost burnt, but that was the only negative thing to say about the food. It was otherwise delicious! I would strongly suggest this place for breakfast. The menu is really good, with a decent variety of good options to choose from. Cost wasn't bad, but not a deal either. If I was part of the management team, I'd have a serious conversation with the young lady who was hosting today (8/12/26.
