    Uptown Burger with egg

I always love visiting Uptown Diner. It's an occasional treat, best had after rough college exams or for ending a long week. The quality of the food is consistently excellent, and I still haven't had a single thing I didn't love. Their fries are crispy but not burnt, their burgers excellently-cooled, and they always come out hot (even if it might take a little longer than expected). While the food is wonderful, the service and atmosphere don't lack either. Soft music, friendly staff, and cozy booths make every visit comfortable besides being tasty. On a cool day, drop in and try out a sandwich and hot cocoa; I'm sure you'll love it!

The food is great, never a bad meal here. The hours are great and you can't beat the service. Our server was handling over 4 tables and we never had to ask for refills. The ambiance gives the old dinner feel.

This is the buffalo chicken salad and waffle fries (Sorry for the bad photo. I figured something is better than nothing.)

Uptown diner has good food but it rather expensive. Despite this, their staff is friendly and this is a great later night option. We love their waffle fries, egg dishes (egg white scramble), and burger. FOOD: Pretty good diner food. Not much more to say here. It's a diner and lives up to the title. Waffle fries are highly recommended. SERVICE: Reliably friendly PARKING: easy on the side of the restaurant on Hennepin. PRICE: definitely expensive. And more than you'd expect. But if you're craving diner food, it can hit the spot and be worth it. AMBIANCE: We order to go most of the time. But the interior has a typical diner feel.

Food: The food we ordered was great. I ordered a pineapple upside down pancake and oh lord that was so delicious. My best friend got the spicy Cajun Benedict and it was amazing too. They had a variety of sweet and savory dishes. Honestly would recommend. Although it is on the pricier side. Most meals averaged between $15 - $17. So a good splurge meal for a self care day. Service: The service was amazing. We were welcomed with smiles and the ladies who were there were truly amazing. Ambiance: It looks exactly what you would think a diner looks like. I loved the design and the blue was very complimentary. The booth area was my fave of course and they have plugs in certain areas. It gives a nice calm time to eat. Atleast the time we went which was around 3pm. Parking: They have parking which was amazing. Didn't have to pay for parking either. So easy and convenient. I was truly impressed and enjoyed the food and ambiance.

We've been here many times, as it's my wife's go-to breakfast spot when we're in the cities. We usually have no trouble getting seated quickly, and the food comes out pretty quickly as well. Menu selection is good and I don't think I've ever had anything I haven't liked. The service has always been good as well. They also have ample off street parking. I can't say it's amazing - it's a pretty standard diner experience - the food is good but not out of this world. I did notice this time though, that the hotcake syrup seemed watered down. It wasn't very thick at all and tasted bland. It's usually busy and has a nice vibe. Even though I am not blown away by it - I will come back. If you just want a classic hot breakfast and coffee, and to get in and out quickly, you'll like it.

Side of Hollandaise El Cubano Sandwich Coffee everything omelet

Ignore my fiancé being goofy with our personal receipts, Not worth the money, paid $15 alone for two regular cups of coffee and Side of Hollandaise, friendly environment and staffing but just not worth the money, I have been to real and better diners than this.

I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good breakfast spot. They have all the classics on the menu & the service is great. I have never had to wait for a table & the food come out quick!

This place never fails to disappoint...warm, delicious, comforting breakfast food that is honestly more food than you can eat..but did that stop us from snarfing our food down? Nope! If you're looking for a pick-me-up, a nice breakfast with pals, and hot and delicious comfort food, head over to Uptown Diner. You will not be disappointed. There is a parking lot in the back with a decent amount of space. Go early if you want to get in since there are restrictions due to COVID-19! (Not pictured: my group's appetizer cinnamon roll )

The gyro omelet, terrible just terrible..

The gyro omelet, terrible just terrible..they use prepackaged gyro meat that when cooked turned the omelet into a great grease disaster. The service was great the atmosphere was nice too..

This makes the burger really chewy and you really can't taste the beef anymore like you used to when it was thicker. I would take this as it's not as good as it used to be. It is not as good as the original hype from the beginning. In conclusion, I do not think it's worth the $19. I rather get a cheesesteak for $16 at Tono's which comes with fresh not burnt fries rather than come back here and get a burger here. It's highly unlikely I will be back here. I honestly feel like the burgers have gone way WAY downhill. The fries here have gotten terrible so I stopped getting the fries a long time ago. They are not soft crisp like they used to be. They are too golden brown color, almost like burnt hard fries. I never like to eat down here. I normally would order the Parlour burger upstairs. The basement part which is Parlour has a weird smell like a locker room smell so that's why I don't like to eat down here.

However, you will feel right at home here in an aloha shirt and flip flops which makes it approachable for a quick, casual burger and fries kind of meal if you don't mind paying for it. Street parking only is the rule. Order at the counter and find your own seat. They give you a number to display on your table and bring your food to you as well as bus your table when you leave. The food is pretty much what you expect. Burgers are what they feature primarily but there are roasted chicken parts if you don't eat beef plus things like fries (salty and crusty in a good way) a couple simple salads, and soft serve ice cream. They also have a few tap beers, wines and a limited bar for cocktails. The burgers are pretty standard and come out on unique plastic trays reminiscent of elementary school lunch. They do get a plus for being neatly wrapped and assembled and not just thrown together with innards falling out all over the place. I think that what keeps this in the midrange of stars on Yelp for me is that it is costly for what it is. Burgers all approach $20+ (except for the most basic which is about $14) and they are simply burgers albeit nicely presented. Sides such as fries are only à la carte and up the cost. You have to order at the counter, find your own table, grab your own water and silverware. And for that, you are auto prompted to tip in the greater than 20% range at the counter when ordering by the electronic card reader. It all feels a little insulting (I know it is not meant to be that way) for a place that is a bit of a glorified fast food model. If you add fries, a beer, and some soft serve to your burger you are easily into the $37-43 range for 1 person before the tip is factored in which is kind of pricey for what it is. It would be one thing if the burgers had some flashy attraction like custom heritage breed beef sourcing, gold flakes or caviar sprinkles, or some other sort of churched-up bullsh-- that would justify the high cost. But these are pretty basic burgers that don't approach cult status like In N Out or Shake Shack. Because of that, it is neither great value for the diner nor is it a great meal for the foodie. It is a solid burger experience for all at a higher cost. Would I go back? Yes. I liked it and the food was great for a casual type of meal. Would I go back often? Probably not. The uniqueness:value ratio is low and I can get unremarkable but solid burgers at dozens of places around the Cities so there is not a need for me to prioritize Le Burger in any way for a burger and fries meal.
