The food was outstanding. Both the citrus chicken salad and the steak salad were delicious! I had considered the goat cheese and vegetable sandwich. A customer at a neighboring table had that and it looked quite tast, too. The pastr all looked amazing. We enjoyed a mango jam bar. The staff were all very friendly. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because of the atmosphere. Inside, it's a little gloomy- small with tables close together. If you eat outside, there's a lot of traffic noise, including frequent sirens. I would suggest getting their excellent food to go and enjoy it at a park for a lovely picnic! read more

They have amazing scones, mouthwatering breakfast bars and desserts, mind-blowing breakfast sandwiches, to die for grits, and coffee which puts a smile on your face. Amazing! Every bite delicious. We shared eggs, potatoes, biscuit, yogurt fruit parfait and gouda white cheddar grits. The cafe latte was perfect. So close to St. Anthony's Hospital that you can have real food, made well for yourself or to take to a loved one. Yum! read more

We went because we saw it on the news. Place had a little line that went fast. Lots of good looking food in the case. We ordered the cold coffee and Hibiscus tea. Then the brown butter chocolate chip cookie, the everything scones and the ricotta pie. We also ordered two of the bowls. The one bowl was excellent. The other bowl seemed a bit greasy because of the potatoes. We didn't finish that one all in all it's a cute place. I hope they do well I'll be back. read more

Uptown Eats has such a great friendly atmosphere. The food is amazing! I would definitely recommend the grits! My twin daughters finished both of their bowls fully and they're nine! This is a highly recommended place for people who want good coffee and a great breakfast, plus it's in a ideal location. Very close to Tropicana Park. And the staff are just so friendly! He had the breakfast sandwich and I got the FOD (frittata of the day). It was truffle on mushroom on truffle-ly goodness. This is one of my favorite places to grab breakfast. Their breakfast sandwich is perhaps the best in St Pete and they do a great job accommodating any dietary requests. They also use a really balanced coffee roast that makes wonderful coffee drinks or goes well as a simple espresso. I do a lot of low carb, but the baked goods look amazing. Wow wow wow. Did I mention wow? Me and my friend came in with our 3 year olds today for a little brunch and I'm so glad we did. Everything was crazy good. I got the frittata and their special iced coffee. The iced coffee was bomb.com with coconut flavor. I will be returning for coffee! The frittata was also top notch delicious. Right upfront, the food at Uptown Eats is good enough to be worth waiting in the usual line. If I'd just been getting takeout, it would have been 4 stars. My problem with this place is their unique rule to get a seat: you can only sit down after you've gotten your food order at the counter. A two-top opened up when I was second in line behind a group of 4, so my wife sat down, only to be very rudely and aggressively rousted by the owner. She tried to explain the situation, but he just said "my house, my rules". A couple of minutes later, I got the food and we sat at the very same table. When the very kind server came by to clear our plates, she explained the policy and I understand that with so few tables they needed some way to keep people from just wandering in and using their Wi-Fi. I get it, but the owner needs to realize that there are many other food options to be had in St Pete without the side order of drama. read more

Uptown Eats may be better than the Banyan Cafe which it replaced (the other Banyan Cafe is still open). The bowls are delicious; their Signature Coffee Cooler is perfect; and the scones are unparalleled. Try the everything bagel scone, which has cream cheese inside it, and the toffee espresso scone! However, there is no room for a line and there is a perpetual one you have to stand in to place an order. This place is too small and popular for counter service.
