Took my son yesterday as he's been begging me to go. We waited 30 minutes for a 1 tender kids meal and order of Urban Fries, which is just fries with a scoop of Mac and a chicken chopped on top. Their wait times are over 35-40 minutes, for a FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH!!!!!!! I first went there about 7 days ago, and waited 30 mins to get my order. The food was decent, so I figured id give them another try. Yesterday (july 17, 2026), i ordered over the phone at 8:55pm. After arriving at 9:10pm, the staff mentioned my order is not ready, which was okay because i got a text saying my order will be ready at 9:15. They made me wait another 25 mins, and gave my order at 9:35pm, adding total wait time at 40 mins (again all this time for a frickin fried chicken sandwich!!!) After giving them the benefit of doubt after my first time, i can safely say, they don't give a shit about customers time. If im ordering a fast food chicken sandwich, i shouldn't have to wait 40 mins to get my food. I regularly order from Laynes Fried Chicken in cinco ranch, and if i place an in person order, my order is 9/10 times given to me in under an 10 mins. If its a pick up order, it is always ready when i arrive (usually arriving 10-15 mins after placing) If nothing else, urban should contact Laynes to learn how to quickly prepare fried chicken tenders Was my second and last time at Urban. They need a complete overhaul of their process and need to make their staff more efficient. PS. This was our 2nd visit in a week. It's that good! First visit we went with friends and family. 6 of us total. To go order. friends told me the chicken and waffles were amazing. We came in here to eat with six adults and two kids. You order at the counter and then sit down with a buzzer to wait as your food is prepared. We sat at a booth and a table since they did not have larger tables that you could easily push together, but did have plenty of booths and tables for seating. We grabbed some.menus to sit down and look over before heading back in line to order. They had more options at this location compared to the one on I-10, including street corn and a bunch of options to eat over fries. We ordered two kids meals - one plain chicken with waffles and fries and another BBQ chicken with fries. The other location did not let you add flavors to the chicken, but our server here did, so we went with BBQ since we figured it would not be spicy. Both kids got a fountain drink (they love the strawberry lemonade and mango lemonade) and a custard dessert which we picked up after they finished their meal. The adults ordered three tender baskets (mild, Nashville hot, and the next level up hot.) I love spicy, but Nashville Hot was as high as I could do. my sister loved how spicy hers was and I just took a small bite of it and it was too much. Lol. We also had two orders of the chicken over fries and Mac and cheese and it was delicious. The street corn was good and creamy, but the portion was small.compared to the other dishes. The tenders were juicy and were large strips of chicken, especially compared to many other places that have been undergoing shrinkflation and slowly decreasing the size of the tenders. There wasn't any ice in the ice machine while we were there, but they fixed it as we were on our way out. The cashier was nice and helpful. She let us know how to order and how to pick up the custard, how to pick up the food, etc., To make sure everyone knew how the place worked since it was still fairly new. There were boxes near the soda machine for you to box up your own leftovers. This was my first visit. I had no expectations. I just wanted a hot chicken sandwich. I bought four sandwiches, thre Nashville Hot & one mild. I was really disappointed. First, I was never greeted. Went here after playing basketball wanting a nice meal. This place used to be good but the service has gone down since I returned from college. Disappointed is an understatement. I ordered a tender basket but the cashier put it in wrong and they gave me the urban fries. Minus half a star Location is okay. Not a lot of seating but okay amount for the location and amount of traffic coming through. Ambiance is muted light and little louder than average of talking volume. So it's nothing fancy or special they're chicken tender or chicken tender sandwiches that are okay at best. The sauce options that have actually have good spice. Sadly the Nashville hot option is nothing like what you get in Nashville. The pricing is a bit high for what you get and nothing is really filling. It's good to keep you satisfied if you know you have a big meal later in the day. Big mark of is they're "tip" amount option. They include the tax with the tip which everyone knows is not how tip goes. Tips are based off the price of something minus the tax. The percentage tipped is based off level of service. Coming to place that adds tax to suggested tips and don't provide a service anymore than a McDonald's or Chik-Fil-A I don't see the purpose for a tip here. read more

Urban Bird! When it comes to hot chicken, I'm sold. I love hot chicken. So of course, this is one of my favorite nearby places. Anytime that I get an extended lunch hour from work, I try to make it a point to come here and enjoy my food. The service is good, you just order from the counter and wait for your order to come out, so nothing major. When I've gone it's been a bit empty and has made me a little worried, but when I get my order and taste that good chicken... all my worries disappear. I like their food. It's not the greatest hot chicken that I've ever had in my life or anything, but it is definitely one of the best you can get in the area. Also, part of their place is chronic fries. Still haven't tried them, but I've seen them come out and they look pretty good. I'll have to check them out soon.
