The food was actually really good. I'm from Chicago so y'all know I love me some fried chicken wings and this place tasted just like Captain Hook's back at home. Captain Hook's at Fort Bend was VERY TASTY!! I ordered a 6 piece wings with fries and a toast. And it was kids approved when I fed my nieces and nephews. Did I buy it for the kids? Not at all. But kids are greedy butts and they enjoyed it too lol. The fried chicken was PERFECT and FRESH. NOT greasy. It was NOT overly seasoned. And honestly, I also tasted a hint of lemon pepper in the seasoning. It was amazing. But let me telllll you about the FRIES. WOW!! Those were just crispy. They reminded me of Burger King fries. Even if you leave them to cool down, the fries were STILL crispy. And I appreciated that a LOT. The wings were HUGE. The fries were steak fries. I was asked what type of sauce I wanted and I got my BBQ sauce but there were many options to choose from. The convenience of a drive thru so I didn't go inside But I NOW have to go back and try their other meals so I will be going inside. They have a GREAT lunch special. I originally called the other location on Fry. Because I am not from around here... So, I pull up and they have a drive thru so I opted to not go inside because there's a drive thru -- DUHHHH lol. I then asked can I pick up my order from the drive thru? The cashier said yes. I get to the window and said I am here to pick up my order and unbeknownst to me it was the owner... he said I didn't place an order there. I am like wahhhh. He said you probably placed it at the one on Fry. I am like oh emmm GEEEEE!! But he said I can place the order with them. I proceeded to call the one on Fry and said I called the wrong location. Nahhhh this ain't it. The fries were cold. The shrimp was ehh, think breading falling off. The fish was ehh, no real seasoning. I don't know if i came on a bad day or what. I decided to try because I was coming through Katy thr other day. It had a high rating so I decided to try. Okay Katy Town! Welcome to the True Chicago style (whole) fried wings with mild sauce, crispy fries and the white bread...LOL. If you haven't heard, like me you've been sleeping on this fried chicken take-out restaurant. I'm so happy they are finally in my neighbor because there is no comparison as they fry the WHOLE WING and not those tiny wing dings which is the normal fare in Houston. Captain Hooks Chicken is originally from Chicago and all over the city and suburbs. I asked the owner in Katy to confirm and he said their the same family from Chicago. When I picked up my order of 10 wings/fries with mild sauce it was freshly fried, hot and delicious. They do cook fresh to order so had about 10 wait for my lunch. Chicken was well seasoned to perfection with the original hometown flavors I've been missing. Chicken is lightly dusted with lemon pepper and served with the "real deal mild sauce" which is a Chicago favorite. Fries were fried to crispy texture with light coating of seasoning. My food was smelling so good I had to pull over in the car and eat 2 wings and burning my finger before I went home...LOL. This place is good option for ordering large pans of fried wings, shrimp or fish for parties, baby showers, family and business functions. I didn't need to find this place as I'm trying to be on a diet yet, lawd help me! I did read one mixed review but they only been open a few months and seeing more positive reviews. I'm sure they will address any food service issues if they want to stay relevant in Katy as people are nicpicky about food and service. The service was quick and the owner was friendly and accommodating when they took my order. I went through the drive through so I can't comment on inside of restaurant and seating, etc. Let's keep this place in business...it's an affordable quick meal option or protein side dish for takeout nights. Our family ordered this chicken, a few days ago for a family function and it was so good, that I HAD to find out where they got it from and see how close it was to where I work. We found this hidden gem, on Fort bend road in Katy. Across the street from Katy Mills Mall. Ambiance, is from another establishment and you can overlook it. In lieu, of the awesome food they serve. Tried the catfish for my wife and I had the talipia.(Fried) Seasoned so well and golden brown. One two piece with wings. One two piece with okra, basket of okra you won't finish.(Large portion) It's already accompanied with fries and bread. The ambiance is not the greatest as it is an existing establishment from another restaurant. However the quality and freshness of the food outweighs. Look them up, another location on N. Fry Road.
