I have never had a bad piercing and I recommend this store to anyone who wants it done right. I got my conch piercing done here by Eric a couple days ago, and it has been by far my easiest and least painful piercing. From walking in to getting my ear pierced, the process took 5 minutes. The room and all the tools were clean, and it didn't hurt any more than a pinch. It's been a couple days since I got my piercing, and it's not swollen and is only a little sore. This review is long over due, but better late than never! I got my nipples pierced here by Chelsea around Christmas time 2013 (tits the season! Lol jk) but anyway i was feeling spontaneous and decided to venture out to Davis bc they were the only place open. So I got there and the piercing tech was at dinner so they needed to text her to come over..okay fine. Chelsea ended up making me feel very comfortable and relaxed. She did the right one perfectly, I didn't move, flinch, scream, shake nothing. Totally fine. She moved to the the left and botched the hell out of it and knew it, it was diagonal and the other one was straight . She immediately told me I can come back once it's healed and could get it done again, greaaaat. So 3 months later I call explaining the situation and they said yeah that's fine, free. I drive 30 mins out there to have them tell me the piercing is only free if I brought the old jewelry...what the hell?? Why would you have not told me this when the piercing was f***** from the beginning or when I JUST called you to tell you I was coming. So unprofessional and straight up bs. I love this place. I have spent several hours there being tattooed by Chris. He is an exceptionally talented artist and so are the other guys there. I have to respond to "Tae's" comment about the store being for "frat boys and trendy bar bunnies" or whatever. If you know anything about Davis those are the people that happen to live here. this place was alright...i've recently gotten my belly button pierced here and i did a bit of research before i did it. i watched a few youtube vids of how it was done and most of them were done really quickly and smoothly where they put the needle in and jewelery in right after and DONE. but when i got mine, the guy took a while to pierce the needle through cuz he said i had "tough skin". and he left the needle in my bellybutton while he turned around to get the jewelery ready and stuff. i expected it to be a lost faster than that. im not sure if its supposed to be like this or cuz he didn't measure it correctly but i feel like the the jewelery is pulling on my skin when i stretch =/ read more

I got my belly button pierced here last weekend! I'm honestly terrified of needles, so I'm glad the piercer, Chelsea, was very skilled and fast with the piercing. The shop was clean and welcoming, and it cost about $55 total for the piercing and a cute piece of jewelry. I have gotten two piercings from urban body. My forward helix and my nose. Both times I went the piercers were very professional, made me feel comfortable, and talked me through everything they were doing. I took one star off because my nose piercing never healed correctly and when I went to another piercing shop I was told that the piercing went through too much cartilage and I would be better off taking it out. My forward helix, however, is doing great and I will definitely go back for future piercings. read more

I'm putting ink into my skin permanently so I'm trusting these guys with my body. I thought I could but I was dead wrong. I recently got a tattoo from Tony and should have run out immediately. I had called ahead and was told he had an opening at two, I had only wanted some simple lettering done and thought that it wouldn't take too long. It would be my fourth tattoo, and fairly simple in comparison. He was nearly 45 minutes late, brought his kids, and proceeded to take another 45 sketching out my design (It was three words with a line running underneath). When he brought me back the sketch it wasn't even the correct words I had given him, and it had to be redone. Still, I decided to give him a second chance, I'd waited that long. Everything looked good the second go around even though I'd been sitting for nearly an hour and a half at that point. Finally ready, he takes me back and his setup isn't working, fumbling he uses his friends machine instead. Everything about the experience was chaotic, not to mention the unprofessional attitude he brought in ( I didn't need to hear the story of the girl moaning in pleasure at her experiance with his tattoo skills). After all that, looking at my finished piece I couldn't be more disappointed. He went too deep so clean lines are far gone, and everything looks like newsprint that got drenched. I'm traveling back to SoCal for the summer and am having to get it fixed up by my usual, and ever lovely artist. I can't even be properly upset, because its my body that's permanently marked and that trust of not screwing up was broken. read more

I got my piercing pierced by someone else and i didnt kno what gauge they used so i came into urban body to find out what gauge i would be , i came in 4 days after it got pierced , i felt like my piercing had been heeled , it was good and it didnt sting or hurt when i cleaned it and bottom line , it was healed because i heal fast from piercings , I came in to get it sized to buy a new piercing . The lady was quite rude when i was explaing to her that i hadnt gotten it pierced by them but i wanted to kno the gauge and she said to ask the piercer , she then said the only way to find out was to take it out and measure it and i told her that i could take it out so in the action of doing so she said in a rude disgusting tone ' no ! No ! Dont do that in here !' She then went on about how i shouldnt take my piercing out and i shouldnt be doing wat im doing . I came in to only find out my size and not for her two sence . Wich by the end of it i just walked out nd ended up going to the other piercing place down the street , wich gladly helped me without judging me . DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! i got my tongue pierced here. the guy held my tongue with a piece of paper towel. i would have preferred a clamp. i had my side labret piercing done in LA. i went to urban body to get the other side done and my snakebites turned totally crooked!! the angle was all wrong and so was the placement, and it had a hard time healing :( i ended up taking it out, waited for the hole to close over, and got it redone at my original place in LA. now my snakebites are symmetrical :D read more

I have had my belly button and my tragus piercings done by them. Different piercers both times. The lady who did my belly button was nice but after it was done I realized she did not really know what she was doing. She clamped my belly button so tight I had a red ring for days. My tragus the guy was not the best (Avi...he did not go over healing time or anything until after it was done and on top of it after having it checked out by three other APP piercings they all said he used the wrong jewelry and they should have never been pierced with that jewelry. On top off it all my piercings from them got infected with proper care. Six months going on seven and my one tragus piercing still is not healed because of the improper jewelry that is in it. I am having my last chance at getting it to heal and if it doesn't well...that will $45 and six months down the drain and I now have a huge bump on my ear from improper jewelry being used.....I would stay away from this place read more

First off, I love the jewelry sold here. Very high quality with a wide variety. However, the problem I have is with the receptionist. I went in a couple of months ago to buy jewelry for a medusa piercing. The receptionist gave me the standard size but as I have fairly large lips, I made a point to check with the piercer to make sure it would be large enough. Without even looking at my lip, she said it would be fine. We purchased the jewelry and went to a different piercer, who was also a certified professional. I took care of the piercing and made sure to clean it regularly. However after a month of having the piercing, it embedded in my lip. I had to go to the emergency room and have it cut out of my lip with a scalpel. Now, a month later, I'm trying to get it repierced. I went to a professional piercer at a tattoo shop in my town and specifically requested a larger bar. I showed him the original piercing I had in and he immediately noticed it was way too small for my lip, something the piercer at Urban Body should have noticed, had she even bothered to look. He recommended a half inch bar and referred me back to Urban Body, as he didn't have that size in stock at the moment. I politely explained to the receptionist what had happened the first time and she immediately got defensive, putting blame on me and assuming I had pierced it myself. She was extremely rude and unprofessional and even tried to put the piercer we had gone to down by saying if he was a professional he would have had the jewelry. She told us she did not feel comfortable selling the jewelry to us, as she didn't want to be liable. However she had no problem doing it the first time. The receptionist is the first person you speak to. They represent the business first hand. My first impression walking in should not be hostile and uncomfortable but rather friendly and helpful. Either way, I purchased the jewelry (which she didn't even offer to autoclave for me as she had done the first time), and returned to the piercer who had referred us. He will not be sending business that way any longer. A horrible experience all around. Fantastic product, but horrible service. read more
