This is just for their brunch, not the burgers. Came here with the family (husband, toddler and baby) right when they opened at 9:30 on a Sunday morning. We actually beat the chef there so we had to wait awhile to be served. Luckily the toddler was patient but I didn't like that you have to pay ahead of time since there was a good chance we would have had to leave before the food came out if my daughter threw a fit. Overall we were there for an hour which is sort of crazy for brunch. However, despite the wait, the food was awesome. Toddler got the waffles which she enjoyed, husband got the Cannoli Cream French Toast and I got the Blueberry Granola Pancakes. Each order came with sausage or bacon. We loved that the bacon was extra crispy, plus it balanced the sweetness of the french toast and pancakes well. I would understand the slow turnaround if they were new to the restaurant biz, but they are the same owners as Italian Pantry so they should have some sort of flow established. The one I settled on was the baked Brie and fig Burger. The pecorino truffle fries also caught my eye. We ordered the large fries and the portion that arrived seemed paltry. Fries were soggy, not crisp. They had good truffle flavor but the pecorino seemed like the powdered stuff you get in a bottle. Overall, the experience was like eating those frozen fries you get in a bag and deep fry at home. The burger was cooked perfectly medium rare, but it was under seasoned, as in no salt at all, there was no bacon or mayo as advertised and the fig did not provide the sweetness expected. When they're properly done, they're very good, almost addictive, but when they're not, you can't even eat them. Burgers - when you ask for a medium, you get well-done. This is a classic "one and done" restaurant visit. Went in on a Friday night to an almost empty room. I guess the employees (of which there were three just standing behind the counter talking amongst themselves) expected us to figure out that we needed to seat ourselves. We then had to whip out our phones to see the menu, unless we wanted to crane our necks to read the chalkboard above the counter enduring more stink eye from the surly counter help. After deciding what we wanted, we squared our shoulders and prepared to engage with the counter help. The young lady at the counter (with her chin cupped in her hand on the counter) did us the honor of taking our order. My wife was actually scared to ask a question about the burger she was considering. Usually a "hamburger restaurant" will ask a customer how they want their burger cooked. No such luck. After taking care of all the takeout business first, we got our first dish of high school cafeteria tater tots. You could make them just as easily and better in your own air fryer at home. We got our drinks served in mason jars (how adaoreable!) and our burgers. I got the Hefer and my wife had the Urban Burger. Both overcooked and bland. My onion rings would have been a saving grace had they been served hot. At any rate as I said, this place is one and done. If you want mediocre food served by surly teenagers go to Mickey D's or Friendly. Oh and the "we like to support our community by hiring young people" is a great sentiment if you train them properly in customer service and manners.
