Very typical for Winston Pies location, small, lovely display case, excellent service. Parking situation not great as is typical for West Hollywood.

Such a cute pie shop!

I love this little pie shop. I first visited their Brentwood store a few years ago and thought it was fabulous. I'm so happy they opened up a shop on Third. It is one of the few pie shops on the Westside. Most of the other ones I've seen are in the Valley. There is one more Winston location in Santa Monica. They also ship nationwide. This location has metered parking on the street. Pie flavors rotate seasonally. The current flavors are Harvest Apple Pie, Carolina Classic Cherry, Mixed Berry Pie, Southern Pecan Pie, Cowgirl Chocolate Pie, and Key West Lime. The Pecan Pie and the Mixed Berry Pie are both gluten free. The Mixed Berry Pie is the only vegan option. All pies are vegetarian. Most of the pies were in the display case except for the Key Lime Pie which needs to be refrigerated. There are different ways to order a pie flavor at Winston. You can get a slice of pie for $8.50, pie bites (cookie size) for $2.25 or hand pies from $5 to $6 (tart size), a mini pie for $12 which serves 2-3 people, or a full sized pie for $59. The mini pies are my pie of choice. I think mini pies make excellent gifts for individuals or couples because they are super cute and you get 2-3 slices of pie which is the perfect amount. It's also great for larger families because they can try more flavors of pie! On this particular day the Mixed Berry Pie on display was what I was drawn to. It just looked super fresh and appealing. It is made with blackberries and cranberries and topped with an oat crumble. It was a great choice. Both tart and sweet this pie satisfied all of my cravings. I purchased a key lime mini pie as a gift. It looked really good as well. It has hand squeezed limes and a graham cracker crust. The receiver was extremely pleased and told me a few days later that they loved it and thought it was delicious. The pies come in a beautiful box. I really like that the boxes also have stickers on them that say what is inside the box as well as how to store the pie. Additionally, their online website has a page with reheating instructions which is very useful since I ordered my pie to take home and I used the website for reference on how to reheat. You could 100% eat in the shop as well. There is seating at a counter, table seating inside, and an outside table and chairs. If you eat at the shop you can order the pie a la mode or with whipped cream. I'm not sure if there are vegan add-ons. I topped my pie at home with some vegan ice cream I had in the freezer and it paired beautifully with my vegan pie. In case you were wondering, Briana Abrams, the founder, comes from Winston-Salem, North Carolina and that is where the name "Winston" comes from. Another thing that needs to be said about Winston Pies is that they are all made from scratch and they try to use local and organic ingredients whenever possible which I applaud. Local and organic produce usually tastes better and is also supposed to be more nutritious while also being good for the environment and supports the local community at large. Overall, this place is just so special. I hope to come back soon. The employees were also "as sweet as pie". Pi Day (March 14) is just around the corner but any day is a good day to treat yourself to a Winston pie! Technical Note: I'm not sure why all my pictures did not attach to my review. If you are a picture person like I am you can see my photos by clicking the words "17 photos" which is at the top of this review under the star rating when on a desktop.

I walked in here AFTER hot yoga! I only intended to get a cup of coffee but the there was a friendly worker type person in there who offered to give me pie in exchange for money. What was a Gyal to do?!!! I got the lemon bar pie. It was so good I sobbed a fat tear of ecstasy.

$9.63 for a small slice of pie. For the pricing, you'd think that the workers would be more friendly but they looked bored out of their minds and like they wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. I got the key west lime pie to go. I guffawed when I opened the pie box. I was amused at how small the slice was, and how the crumbs were kind of strewn about and it didn't look like an expensive pie. Tastewise, it was more rich than a normal key lime pie and the graham cracker crust is not like any other pie crust, it's like crumbled but stuck together graham cracker crumbs. It was good to try once but is not affordable for regular visits.

It's been a while since I've been to Winston Pies. I ordered the Chocolate Cowgirl Pie (4 stars). It's as chocolaty and decadent as I remembered with its delicious oat crust. I only recently started to like cherries so I wanted to try the Carolina Classic Cherry Pie (4 stars), which is one of their popular picks. I never had a cherry pie before, and I enjoyed this one. There was a generous amount of filling with sweet and juicy dark cherries in a flaky sugar topped pie crust. I also liked my husband's pick, which was the Mixed Berry Crumble (4 stars). I liked the ratio of the crisp crumble and yummy berries. It was the only gluten free and vegan option. Several businesses come and go on 3rd Street, and I'm glad Wintson Pies is still around when I crave for a slice of pie with 4 star service.

AMAZING! Amazing pies and such a cute little shop. I've finally tried this place out and want to go back every day! I got the chocolate cowgirl pie and apple pie slices. And boy were they good! My favorite was the chocolate cowgirl pie. It was basically like a brownie in pie form! Ugh so good. The crust was crumbly oat crust and it complimented the chocolate BEAUTIFULLY! If you love chocolate you MUST try it out! 11/10! And the apple pie was pretty good it was just more on the acidic side and had a lemony flavor (which isn't my personally fav). But it was still really good! I can't wait to go back and try out some more of the pies! Definitely a must try place if you LOVE pies!

I typically don't like pies and I went back for more. The flavors are great and everything is almost crumbly/decadent as even the employees had a hard time cutting and scooping the pies without it falling off. In all, good flavors. A bit expensive for $7.50 a slice. I would rather have had the smaller pieces (which they didn't have). If you are getting more than 5 slices then buying a whole pie is more worth it. Key Lime Pie**: tart and a typical lemon pie (with a graham crust that I preferred). Get this if you don't like something too sweet Cookies and cream: not my favorite. Ice cream like texture/flavor. I felt like the vanilla flavor came out more than the cookies. Cowgirl chocolate**: fudgy and decadent. Like a brownie. Loved it. Although I would have preferred a graham crust instead of oatmeal. Caramel Twix: crumbly crust, caramel flavor comes out more. I would have preferred a thicker layer of chocolate preferably solid, real caramel, and biscuit-like texture. I guess I missed the texture of a Twix. Didn't love it like the other flavors but it was a nice subtle nod to a Twix. Service and ambience: friendly and cute decor inside. Not much seating inside and currently closed due to COVID. They did bring us an extra seat for outdoor seating. Parking: streets and didn't seem too bad to find parking on Saturday night as most stores nearby were closed by then. COVID precaution: mask and sanitizer

We found this place on Yelp, took a chance and drove 40 mins before opening time. There was 15 people ahead of us. They baked their pies fresh daily, service was great and swift pies were delicious!

I have been to Winston Pies a couple years ago in Brentwood and was unaware until recently that there was a Winston Pie joint on 3rd Street near where I live. It was high time for pie time and I went over the other evening to see what gluten-free pie offerings they had. I purchased a small whole berry pie with gluten-free crust and a slice of GF southern pecan pie. Once home, I heated up the southern pecan pie, added a little caramel whipping cream and I was transported to the Magnolia café in New Orleans many years ago. This pecan pie was spectacular. The next day I cut a slice of the GF Berry pie and it too was delicious. As far as desserts for people who are celiac or gluten intolerant, pie what is the last item next to cannolis that bakers learn to master. Mr. and Mrs. Winston certainly have found the groove and make a mean gluten-free pie.

Not your usual bakery as their selection was very limited when I walked in and even if I were the only customer in the store and wanted to order a key-lime pie for a birthday to be picked up in a couple of days, I was still made to order on-line! They also could not write happy birthday on the pie, I had to buy a "birthday topper"... those are the only reasons I deducted a star. Their pies though are outstanding. I absolutely love their crust. Since it was my first time there, I bought their pie bites - in apple, chocolate and cherry. They're literally bite size pieces for $2 each, it's a bit pricey but so delicious. When I came back to pick up the key-line pie, I also bought their Raspberry/peach individual pie for $10 - which is better priced than the bites. Wasn't too crazy about the filling, but still it was good. Their West-lime pie $52 was a good size, very silky/creamy overall really good. You can tell there's a lot of love and detail placed on everything they make including their packaging. When you pair their pie with whipped or ice cream it brings it to a whole new wonderful level!!

The walnut pie was really good but the apple pie was a bit more ordinary than the walnut pie. But I really like the walnut pie here.

The drinks and pastries have always made it an easy place for us to grab a treat, so I'm not writing this based on one random first impression. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing enough that I felt I needed to say something. When we came in, the trash cans were overflowing, and the floor looked like it had not been cleaned in quite some time. I understand that cafés can get very busy, especially in Little Tokyo, and I never expect a place to look perfect every second of the day. However, the dining area felt noticeably neglected. With two children, cleanliness is something I pay closer attention to, and it was uncomfortable trying to find a clean area for us to stand and sit. The overall atmosphere also felt disorganized. We waited at the register for help, but it took a while before anyone acknowledged us. A simple "I'll be right with you" would have made a big difference. I have had better experiences here in the past, which is why this visit stood out so much. I'm hoping this was simply a bad day, because Café Dulce has always been a place I was happy to visit with my family. I'm sharing this because I would genuinely like to see the cleanliness and customer service return to the standard I remember. Private Feedback for Management I did not feel comfortable putting the full details of this experience in a public review, but I believe management needs to be aware of what happened. While I was standing at the register waiting to order, the male employee working there was engaged in a conversation with another person and appeared to be openly gloating about drinking while on the job. Based on what I heard and observed, he also appeared to be impaired or intoxicated. He continued the conversation while ignoring me, even though I was standing directly in front of the register waiting to place an order. The tone of the conversation was not subtle or professional. It created a much darker and more uncomfortable atmosphere than what I would ever expect from a family-friendly café. I was there with my two children, and hearing someone behind the register casually talking about drinking while working was deeply concerning. Someone who appears intoxicated while operating a register and handling customers' money creates a terrible narrative for the business. It raises concerns about judgment, accuracy with transactions, food-service safety, and the overall professionalism of the workplace. Even if the employee was exaggerating or joking, it was still completely inappropriate to have that conversation openly in front of customers. What bothered me most was not only the conversation, but the fact that I was being ignored while it continued. I was waiting to spend money at the business, yet the employee seemed more interested in talking about drinking than acknowledging a customer. As a mother standing there with two children, the situation felt uncomfortable, disrespectful, and honestly a little disturbing. This is not my first time visiting Café Dulce, and I have never felt compelled to complain before. I understand that employees are human and that businesses have difficult days. However, the combination of overflowing trash cans, a dirty floor, being ignored at the register, and an employee appearing impaired while discussing drinking on the job crossed a line for me. I am sharing this privately because I believe management should have the opportunity to address it directly. I hope the situation is taken seriously, not only for the reputation of the café, but for the safety and comfort of the customers and employees.

The lemon loaf slice is huge, I'd say it's the equivalent of two slices, so it's definitely big enough to share. As for the cookies, Levain is known for making them thick and rich. A small piece goes a long way, making them perfect for savoring over a couple of days (if you have that much self-control!). The moment you walk inside, you're greeted by the incredible aroma of freshly baked pastries, and the service was warm and welcoming. I truly think everyone should experience a Levain cookie or pastry at least once. It's worth the visit!
