If you've been to one Urban Outfitters, you've pretty much been to them all, but what sets this location apart from other UO's are the staff. At any other Urban, you tend to get the too cool attitude, see various employees rolling eyes while talking amongst themselves, ignoring you altogether and generally giving off the vibe that I'm back in Jr High and everyone's whispering about that rumor going around that I'm really man... which is based on a true story. Not the part about me being a dude, but the rumor scenario itself. Whatevs. Ain't no thang. If I wanna wrap my flannel around my waist and people want to call the knotted sleeve ball sticking out from my shirt my penis, fine. So be it. Joey Lawrence wouldn't be phased by the assumption and neither will I. I've stopped here on a few occasion, scored some semi-affordable items from their clearance rack room and even splurged on a few full price items that I'd seen similar styles of at other stores, but for more money... if you can even imagine that. The employees - all of them - have always greeted and offered to help in a way that seemed really genuine. I came here once during a semi blizzard and the girl at the front counter was super sweet on top of being totally hot and punky and legit looked too cool to be talking like a person like me. The thing that really seals it for me is that I've always gone her without make-up on, lookin' like a damn junkyard monster, and they don't judge, they don't ignore, they treat me like how you'd see an associate at Nordstrom treat and a woman who obviously has a rich husband, which is a feeling I will probably never otherwise know. Say what you will about their mass-produced suburban hipster items, the cats who work at this location set it apart from the rest and I gotta give up some love for that. read more

My little niece wants to attend a mini Christmas party here in our village. The kids should wear a Christmas theme. I love my little niece very much so I support her in a good way. In this Christmas party they have a mini pageant and a sash for Ms. Little Christmas and Mr. Little Christmas. I want to make her to be the Ms. Little Christmas. My tita recommended this mall because last Christmas my other niece bought her Christmas dress here. When I enter this mall they have a lot of Christmas decor. Some staff lend me a way because I don't know where the Christmas costume is. Lots of costumes are displayed on the shelves. A mini cute dress grabbed my attention. It's a set that has a cap, accessories and boots. It's a little bit expensive because of its good quality and beautiful design. When I wear it to my little niece she looks so cute and beautiful. She'll like it too and she can't wait to wear it to a party. read more

Hellishly overpriced, but I suppose the people who shop here already know that. The downside of having a foreign guest is that you always end up spending way more time at malls than you ever would wish to. And this is how I find myself here. Much to my surprise I found a few items I liked and then unfortunately a few I didn't. I could only conclude upon viewing their political display that they are not interested in my business. What else could they mean by it? Granted, what do I know about marketing thrift store clearance bin appearing clothes to the masses, but if I had such a store I would want to sell to everyone. I wouldn't care who they were. The last thing I would want to do would be offend or turn away a potential customer. So here I wait... Absolutely ridiculous customer service. The guy in the front as a greeter was just playing with his own hand the whole time. There was a sale posted all over store on huge posters. "50% off all your final items." But upon checking out the cashier explained it's only for the sales rack items. Which I will say are nothing more than three racks of jackets they stole off dead homeless men. God-awful service (the rudest retail employees I have EVER met). If you're going into UO you pretty much know what to expect. Lots of fun overpriced gift items, and neat tees. But if you catch them during a sale, you can get a lot of really cool conversation starters, and fun kitschy items. This location has a very small home goods section and a smaller clearance section than many of the other UOs I've visited (and yes, I have visited quite a few). read more

When I was in high school and college, I used to like this store (well, the chain). A lot. I don't remember why. Now this store makes me cringe. Not only does it seem kind of dark, dreary, and empty, but everything is over-priced. While some of the books and trinkets can be amusing, it's just more stuff that loses its appeal after the latest fad passes. That's what this store is. A fading fad. No offense to the people that shop here (I have respect for people who love vintage and don't stick to the status quo), but there are much better places to find the same kind of things -- like thrift stores. And it's better on your wallet. Or, I don't know. Maybe I'm just not cool anymore. I'll come here if I'm looking for quirky earphones and silly books, but that's probably it. read more

Nothing wrong with the clothes besides being overpriced. My biggest problem with the place is the customer service. I had bought a tank top from there (since it was the only item fit for a guy with broad shoulders). A few days later I pulled it out of the bag to find it still had the security tag on it. So I called them to tell them what I found and to let them know that some of their tags might be defective. Being in woodfield mall I thought they would find that information useful. However, that's not the response I got. The girl on the phone was defensive and VERY rude to me. She basically accused me of stealing and said multiple times, "I don't know how you got out of the store with it on there. Someone should have stopped you when the alarm went off." However it didn't go off, and even if it did, the employees at the front were too busy talking amongst themselves to even greet us as we entered the store. She didn't believe me. Needless to say, it got to the point where I had to yell at the girl, "I DIDNT STEAL THE TANK TOP! I HAVE MY RECEIPT RIGHT HERE IF YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO READ OFF THE NUMBERS!" To which she disregarded and repeated her previously mentioned statement. What a lovely way to treat a costumer trying to help out. Have fun having your merchandise stolen. read more

Urban Outfitters in a massive suburban mall? Something just ain't right about it. Not that I won't hunt down a hat on super-secret sale (even less than I was cheaping out to pay) or I won't covet your presidential election T-shirts (even though I get it online to $upport my guy's campaign), but what exactly is "urban" about Schaumburg, a place The Onion once reported as being home to The Museum of the Middle Class. They were probably talking about this location. There's so much over-the-top Disney/MTV crap at Woodfield. They've got an Abercrombie and an Abercrombie & Fitch...cause what if one runs out of lame ass T-shirts; a Lacoste store, for days when Polo just won't do; and, you can't make this up, a Disney Doorway to Dreams store, because what you really want to do at a mall is purchase a $3,000 vacation package to DisneyWorld. Wha...? And in this enviro is an Urban Outfitters complete with its PLO/jihad/Rachael Ray scarves, and a nice, but seemingly high Pete Wentz-look alike checking people into the fitting rooms? Really? But I guess suburban kids need a Hollister-free store where they can buy neon retro-80s gear and see what a turntable looks like up close. After checking through oddities, I got my "Invisible Man" shirt and a Common/Mos Def cap and bounced thinking, ... Urban Outfitters is ok as long as you buy stuff when it is on sale. When they have a sale they don't screw around - it is usually 75% off. Otherwise it is way too expensive for the quality. read more

I'm not a huge fan of the look and angle that they take, but some of the knick-knacks that they have are pretty interesting. The t-shirts are the wannabe-funny style (which you can find much better online, and cheaper...), unless you find some of the nicer artsy prints, which I prefer. read more

I stopped in here because the people I was with are regulars, but it was my first time. It has some pretty unique items like hand creams inside panda bear tubs or a banana. I didn't browse their clothing so I don't know what their prices are, but they have a lot of cool items for gifts. The only clothing I browsed were the lacy bralettes which are priced at $18.00. They are really cute and very soft. They have a men's section in the back. The cashier was pleasant and polite. They bag your items in reusable bags. The store is not packed with racks so although there were plenty of people in there, you still have more than enough room to not be bumping into others. read more

Terrible customer service. A security tag was left on a piece of clothing purchased by my boyfriend, and when he called to ask what could be done, the woman on the line was incredibly rude. She basically insinuated that he stole the piece of clothing in question. The security tag did not set off the alarm; there were two employees "greeting" at the door (which is a whole other debate--that employee barely even spoke to any customers.) do you really think the employee would have let us walk out of the store if the alarm went off and he thought we were stealing?! I mean I know he was lazy, but come on! We were only calling to figure out what could be done to rectify the situation and inform the store that they might have some defective tags; no need to be so RUDE! read more

A little pricey but always has cool t-shirts and gear that are just my style so for that I will shell out the extra bucks. They always have Obey which is oe of my favorite brands i wish they had more of a selection in jeans than just Skinny and super skinny haha. The store itself does remind me of a warehouse in a way but it does have a cool artsy feel to it. But as for Michael W it looks like his beef was more with the mall and the fact that it's in the suburbs, if anything this store should be looked at like a rare find and not a misplaced store, seeing as though it is an urban store in a suburban setting. read more

Today I went in with a couple of friends, "customer service" was a joke. Two blonde ladies were at the register area, talking, I went up to them to ask a question. The one who chose to answer gave me a blank stare and her answer was rude. I dont know how she was hired with her cold attitude. I don't understand either, since I was polite and just looking for some help. Perhaps talking to your employees might help or know not to hire girls with standoffish charm to sell your merchandise. Despite the brutal controversy and judgement this store faces, in my humble opinion, this store is fantastic. The clothes they carry are spunky, sassy, and usually quite classy as well. The sizing is average- they don't carry special sizes (such as petite or tall), but their selection is generally very broad. The pieces they carry can range from flannels, to tee shirts with sayings on them (which must be monitored- make sure you read the whole thing before you buy, because if not, you may wind up with a few not-safe-for-school words in there), to fabulous dresses and even shoes. They carry very unique clothes and accessories which serve as a great outlet via style for all those who crave a subtle rebellion while still acknowledging that first, they're probably still in high school, and second, they are in the middle of suburbia, and there's only so much they can rebel by buying clothes. This being said, their clothes can be a bit out-there, so please, for the sake of the people looking at your outfits, make sure you know how to wear their items before you buy them. I have even seen employees wearing one of their more outlandish pieces looking kind of ridiculous. They also have some great new records, and their jewelry is pretty snazzy too. I had to knock of a star for pricing, however. When you walk into this store, do NOT expect a bargain- unless they're having one of their awesome sales, in which case odds are you will be able to get a LOT for your money. Generally, their tee shirts alone run from 30-40 dollars, cardigans and sweaters are about 70, which isn't absolutely unheard of but is a bit overpriced in my opinion. The quality of their clothes makes it worth it, though. When you buy some clothes here, they will last for a long time. Quick tip: make sure you know if they're having a promotion or not, and raid their sale section for a while. If you know how to shop for a bargain, you'll do just fine, and you probably won't walk out with an empty wallet. Overall, I love this store. Most of my clothes are actually from here. It's well worth the prices, the atmosphere is cool and urban, and the clothes are unique and beautiful. read more
