This used to be one of the best Urbans but after visiting recently I can't say it's my go-to, anymore. The Oaks has undergone many changes the past few years, most I'm not extremely excited about, but downsizing Urban Outfitters is probably my biggest complaint - I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed. The store is very clean and well organized, as most Urbans tend to be. The music is average, the selection is semi-limited as of now, and the sale prices were not great. The staff and I did not interact, but they were around, which I'm totally fine with. I would prefer that over someone asking me if I need help every 5 minutes, for sure. On my most recent visit they had an even amount of men's and women's clothing. Some gift options, such as, records, candles, face masks, cards and other trendy knick knacks, in the center and in the back. They had a wide selection of bralettes and over sized tees. A few shoe options. And two "sales" racks in the back right. This store does have fitting rooms and is located right by the outdoor section of the mall on the lower level. read more

Fantastic experience at this UO! I had an on-line home goods return to make and was reluctant to go to the mall to do it. The return was so easy and welcomed!! The employees were all so sweet and helpful, my husband and I stayed and shopped for an hour! The store is well organized and beautiful! They have a little bit of everything. Also the prices and selection on the sale items was insane!! ( we bought 4 clothing items and a hat- grand total $17) The staff here is phenomenal! They are friendly, polite, professional and just awesome!! It's not often I experience a return, a fitting room visit, and a purchase in one visit... this will be our go to from now on! read more

I've been here several times, so I figured it was time I leave a review. To be honest, I typically don't shop at places like Urban Outfitters. In fact, I am not a huge shopper to begin with. However, I find some of their stuff appealing like the accessories and cosmetics. There isn't a huge variety when it comes to their clothes in my opinion. They also have nice sales from time to time. The place seems well maintained and clean every time I come here. I do agree with most reviews that the customer service could be better. I have mixed views on it myself. Sometimes, it is mediocre; other times, I am warmly greeted, and the cashier is super friendly and asks if I found everything alright. The line can get long at times depending on when you shop here, but they do a nice job in bringing in back up cashiers if that happens. All in all, if you are a fan of Urban Outfitters, you should check out this location; otherwise, it doesn't really stand out. read more

Stopped by after watching a movie with my family for dinner and had the best experience. Yusef greeted us with a big huge welcoming smile and took our order. I'm usually not one to leave bad reviews but I really hope this reaches someone in management or to the two girls working at the store I had to deal with. I easily spent about $800 at this location. Not one person asked if i needed help or greeted me. I have worked retail for years, at the oaks mall and elsewhere. This was never acceptable. It honestly wasn't the not being greeted that set me off but rather the employees behavior. When I went to the dressing room, I had several clothes I wanted to try on. I know this can be irritating, especially coming from experience in retail, but I did not leave a mess. I took everything out and bought 80% of what I brought in. The employees attitude was so awful and so disrespectful, I would have much rather purchased online. She was extremely condescending considering the amount of money I was about to drop at their location. Everything she said to me could have been said ALOT nicer. She was extremely impatient and rude. I would understand her behavior had I left a mess or not purchased any items, but this was not the case. At the least, I hope this reaches her and the girl who rang me up so they can do better going forward, at work and in life. Life is too short to be catty and disrespectful to others. If you don't enjoy your job in retail, quit! There's plenty of people who would love to take your job, be happy to be there, and put a smile on their face in order to make their customers happy. Your customers should not have to deal with your negative behavior. I was considering leaving her name since I do have it but I understand sometimes people may have bad days and make mistakes. Do better going forward, the world doesn't need more people with shitty attitudes, it's time to grow up! read more

I don't usually leave bad reviews but my experience at this Urban Outfitters was so sour it made me cry. I was returning shoes I had purchased online at the store. I wore them for 20 minutes around my apartment to see if I liked them and decided they weren't what I was looking for. When I got to the cashier to start the return the woman at the register was very kind, but her coworker (who I am assuming was her manager) was not. She accused me of wearing the shoes while out because there was lint and a scuff at the bottom. I understood her asking me why or explaining that they looked worn, but she was EXTREMELY patronizing, rude, and accusatory. I was very taken back. I genuinely had not worn the shoes out of the house and she treated me as though I was lying without a doubt. I understand she's just doing her job but the tone she spoke to me in was absolutely unnecessary. I was very kind and explained why the shoes might have seemed "worn" (the scuff probably appeared quickly because they were honestly made out of cheap material). Just ridiculous. Made me want to stop shopping at Urban Outfitters completely. I see other people have had somewhat similar experiences. Anyone who works in retail knows how much you have to put up with, but there was no reason for her to interrogate me the way she did. I like how Urban Outfitters has offbeat, young, fun housewares, clothing for men and women, shoes, accessories and jewelry. Their buyers have a great knack for finding items that are not that well known and popularizing them. For example, UO carried Scary Stories pretty early on, and they also at one point had Kogepan (San X red bean bun). They have edgy plates and notebooks decorated with skulls and guns. They always have great t-shirts and usually carry cheap ballet flats ($20). Their costume jewelry tends to be overpriced since it is cheaply made. Overall, it's a great place to shop for gifts like wallets and coin purses, books, and toys. It's also a great place to get dorm room decorations like shag rugs and Indian print comforters. The Oaks OU is less than a year old and it's one of the better UOs I've been to because it isn't as picked over. It actually feels organized and pleasant to shop in. I was surprised by how empty the mall was the last time I went, but it's in the middle of a remodel (perhaps that's finished now?) Update: I dropped by again. The mall renovation will take until late 2008. This OU still has a more organized and less picked over sale section. read more

I don't understand what it is with this Urban. Maybe they just consistently hire people who have no desire to actually help but feel that they're so 'attractive' (in their own eyes) that they can just be as snotty and rude as possible to the rest of the 'miserable poplace' that comes in to shop here. When this Urban first opened up, it was wonderful. The quality of their merchandise was excellent, their clothing was adorable and perfectly sized, and while they were a bit more expensive than other stores, you would be certain to get a stellar experience and a few unique pieces and knicknacks. Lately the quality of this Urban has just been going down, quickly. The music being played consists almost entirely of rap and hip hop or edm, both of which are headache inducing and make me not want to stay in the store for very long. I don't want to listen to obscenities being dropped every three mintues. Customer service is non-existent here. I asked a salesgirl on the floor if they had any more of a particular bag anywhere else in the store. Her response? "I don't know." She barely looked up to acknowledge me and mumbled her answer. I have had experiences here that were just downright rude. During holiday season about a year back, one girl in the fitting room remarked that she loved my glasses and asked where I purchased them. I told her the name of the online retailer and that they were prescription. She looked at me with her mouth open and said 'No, really? Let me see them." WHAT THE ACTUAL F****?! You actually have the audacity to ask to see my glasses so you can verify that I actually wear them to not run into things and for fashion......no words. I don't often shop at this Urban. I come in to look around and occasionally end up snagging a nail polish (they have the most unique and unbeatable shades and often have a buy two for $6 deal), but I prefer the Urban in Ventura or Topanga over this one. People still know how to be nice there. read more

Just drove a ways to go to Urban Outfitters in the TO mall. What happened to this store. They moved everything around and now it is wierd and not as much fun or interesting. I think they got rid of some stuff. Music was loud and it just wasn't the same. My daughter used to love this store. We couldn't get out fast enough. Why do they do this? Living in the Thousand Oaks area, I am at this Urban Outfitters a lot. Other than how overpriced Urban is in general, I love the clothes they have. I love the style and how the whole store is set up. But, I must say the service in this Urban is HORRIBLE. The employees seem like they hate their job and are being forced to be there. They are rude, and unwilling to help. As a customer, it makes me not even want to buy anything from that store. So many stores these days are so focused on good service that it is amazing to me that this store is so far behind in that aspect. It makes the whole shopping environment unpleasant. They need to hire some enthusiastic, happy employees in my opinion! read more

No wonder this store has low stars!! Terrible, rude service from this store!! I am a frequent Urban Outfitters shopper (every 2 weeks) but this was my first time here. I was helped by a female with long brown hair who was wearing a black hoodie. First, my fiancé and I gave her our phone to scan our Urban On ID and use our birthday discount. she didn't let us use our Urban On app discount of 20% that we received just because we were also purchasing items on sale already, so she gave us our phone back. Then she rang everything up, and we didn't see her scan it yet so i asked, "Wait, can't you still scan our ID at least?" And she responded with "Oh it's too late now" We had told her if we can scan our ID and use our 20% off and just because she didn't want us to use our discount, she didn't scan our ID at all! My fiancé told her that it wasn't fair we spent about $70 and we can't get it scanned? And she said "Well I can do it but that would mean I would have to refund every single thing back and then repurchase it all over again." And I asked, so we can't do it? And she answered back saying I mean, we would have to do this all over again if you want me to scan your ID for one visit. So we decided to let it go, she gave us our bag of items in a small bag when we purchased NINE items, two of which were glass! She was quiet, with no Thank you or anything. What makes this even worse is that we went to the Studio City Urban Outfitters, and 1) We can use the discount if we have sale items in our purchase...we can even use it on a sale item! And 2) The employee there said that she was being lazy because you do not need to return every single thing and repurchase it for a purchase point, she only needed to refund one item and repurchase it in order for us to receive a purchase point which could've been done in a matter of a few minutes!! The employee at Studio City was much more helpful and they were a busier store too, which really made me angry and decided to make a review about this. I don't know if it applies to them all, but this employee was horrible, lazy, and did not know anything, yet she acted like we were the ones who were wrong! Beware when shopping here! I never review retail stores, but the impeccable customer service I received at this location last night has prompted me to do so. Dan is amazing. He's easily the most helpful sales associate I have ever talked to. He quickly ran over to the register once he saw me waiting, helped me pick out a few more things, and even helped me order something online when I couldn't find it in store. He was super chatty and made me feel like I were talking to someone I had known for years, not just moments. We ended up talking for a little while, he was so sweet. Dan has me eager to shop in this store again, something all sales associates (myself included) aim to do. Their entire team was lovely, but he really stood out. Good service but nothing extraordinary. Most sales associate here are kind of snobby but there are very few who are actually very kind, smart, helpful, and who actually want to be here. I had one sales associate who handed me a jacket I had asked for and she suggested I try it on so when I did the jacket was really tight and small and she told me "well thats the biggest size we have so I guess you are to big-boned for the clothes here". As we were in the dressing rooms everyone heard her and looked back at us, we were all in shock of what she just said and this other lady ended up getting in a fight with her because of how rude she was. read more

I'm a frequent Urban Outfitters shopper and although i've never had a bad experience with their workers, I've never had a "really great" or outstanding customer service experience their either until today. I was helped by Melissa and she was so sweet. She went above and beyond to help me find exactly what I was looking for. She was extremely personable, patient and bubbly and it was refreshing to see such a happy and helpful person working here. Not only did she truly listen to what I was looking for but she was extremely helpful with her suggestions and I'm very happy with what I bought. She made my experience as a shopper so much better and I will definitely be returning to this urban because of it! read more

This review is based off one experience. But it was an experience that will make me not come back to this urban outfitters location. My friend and I were next in line while the cashier was checking out a customer and her friend. The cashier acted like we were not present & was having a full conversation with the customer and her friend as if we weren't even waiting. The cashier put her foot up on the counter and was talking about her shoes. She looked over and said "sorry". If she was sorry, wouldn't you think she would end the conversation and helps us? But no we stood there after she had finished there transaction for about 5 min. I made it very clear we were waiting to be assisted and she acted as if she didn't care. read more

I just returned a jacket I got previously and when I took the jacket out of the bag, I unknowingly dropped a product I had just bought from lush. I then left and it was when I got to my car that I realized I didn't have my lush face bar. I called urban outfitters to ask if they had seen it and they told me they had looked everywhere and could not find it. I then went in to look for it myself and asked a different lady I had talked to on the phone if she had seen my lush product. She then went to the back of the store and said she had found it in the back. I then knew that the lady I spoke to on the phone lied to me about my face bar and didn't want to give it back. Ive always liked this store, and have been to the locations in hollywood and santa monica. However I have stopped buying from them. Its not the service ( the service people are very friendly! ) , its the clothing. The sizes are so small that unless you are 12 years old or anorexic you will find no good fitting male clothing. I'm writing this five star review with a specific girl in mind! In the hopes management sees and acknowledges her excellent service. The place was pretty busy given the time of year. I was a little disappointed to see that some of the dresses I found online weren't in stock, but given the sale and everything it was totally cool. There are tons of amazing pieces to choose from here. A lot of the employees seemed to be busy, not a lot of them go out of their way to greet you or ask or how you're doing but again, given the time of year it's cool. Chloe was really sweet and accommodating in the dressing room. When I was ready to be rung up, the nicest person I interacted with today rang me up! I didn't get her name but she was funny, nice, helpful. Everything you could want for your experience at this crazy hectic time of year at the mall. Her smile was infectious and I left the store having my day made. Sounds kinda silly, but after going to so many crazy chaotic stores, her service put me at ease.
