First time here and everything was so good here. The chimichurri steak is a must try, the beef is pretty tender and it tastes amazing with the sauce. You're allowed to choose up to 2 sides, the veggies and rice were decent but nothing out of the ordinary. Salad was great. The avocado and egg compliments the salad well. What surprised me was that their chicken was so tender, definitely a plus for that. Also try their lemonade and other refreshers, tasted super fresh. The only complaints I have is that there are a bunch of flies in the restaurant. read more

Urban plates brings the quick service with quality food. In other words, this is like a higher quality fast food spot. It's not as fast as chipotle, but in exchange you will receive better food. I got the salmon with broccolini and mac & cheese. Yes, this trio was like a three man weave, each part was essential to the food experience. Salmon was tasty with good texture and flavor. The broccolini was like a skinny, long broccoli...you may need to google it if you don't know. The mac and cheese was solid, but definitely could have been stronger with the cheese flavor and the consistency of was a bit watery. Service was quick like Usain bolt. Great place to eat when you're trying to be healthy. I first had urban plates at the Long Beach area, so I decided to try the one closer to home. You can't go wrong with the salmon or steak, I always get the broccolini and quinoa on the side. This time I had the newest fries, great but quinoa is better. The best thing you can do is add lemon to everything! I decided to try their cookie which I usually don't typically get dessert. But the cookie looked so appetizing, it tasted better than it looked. Tried the chimichurri steak at Urban Plates and it did not disappoint! The steak was tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. The chimichurri sauce added a fresh, zesty kick that paired really well with the meat. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and the portion size was solid for the price. Only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the sides were a bit underwhelming--decent, but nothing special. Still, the main dish is definitely worth trying if you're a steak fan. The beef avocado bowl tasted great. It was light and refreshing. We had to get an extra side of dressing because it felt it wasn't enough. The 2 piece chicken tender looked like a sad plate. Barely any fries with it. Maybe it was the presentation. I'd skip that next time. The fries were also cold when the food came. This place is a gem! As a chef, I'm always looking for a good meal besides unhealthy fast food. This place allows me the comfort of enjoying a good meal in a nice and casual setting. It's a great place to stop after work, and grab a great meal at a decent price. I sat on the patio to enjoy the sunset and I want to say that Francisco was quick with everything from drop off to pick up. I didn't have to worry about a thing.
