The salad & especially the dressing was wonderful! The rice had a great flavor unlike any rice I've had at any other place. The tzaziki sauce with my plate was SO smooth, creamy, and not overbearing, so it made a nice little dip for the fish. (AND the cucumbers in the salad. AND the tomatoes in the salad!) My veggies were grilled and tasted VERY good. My friend ordered an app of French fries, and they were EXCELLENT! Tasty, crispy, not chewy at ALL. Bite into one, "CRUNCH!" and you have what they feel like. Dip 'em in ketchup, or tzaziki, or GARLIC SAUCE, or not at all! I ate a lot of them. I also tried my friend's garlic sauce. I am SO going to have to order some of that to go because it can go with ANYTHING! Pita brea, fish, French fries, wraps (yum!), chicken, shrimp, lobster, beef, lamb, it's too creamy and yummy! Fresh Off the Boat Grill is relatively new in Placentia, with multiple locations including Tustin and Costa Mesa. The staff here are nice. I ordered the fish and chips (to go order) -- 3 pieces served with seasoned fries and coleslaw. The fish was good, but the fries had great seasoning was my favorite. We didn't get tartar sauce which is what I like but instead got malted vinegar. Solid portion size and a good spot if you're craving fish and chips. There is also outdoor dining which is nice on a great day!!! My only complaint....fries should be in a bag not in the box. It got soggy when I got home!! Booo. Came here to catch up with a friend as she had this place bookmarked. I didn't know what to expect but decided to try the poke bowl (half / half) and was amazed. I'm not sure what the yellow/orange sauce was but it was so good. I wouldn't say it's a traditional Hawaiian style poke bowl but the flavors were different in a good way. The sauce almost reminded me of crab roe / uni (i could be so far off but it was savory) but it's was really good with the poke. I felt like they gave a good amount of protein too. Signage and menu easy to read. The staff was welcoming and friendly. I had placed my order over the and my order was ready upon arrival. I got home and the fish was prepared well, still warm, and paired well with the tartar sauce. The fries however were cold and you can tell they had been sitting for a while. I came on a Saturday night for take out. the place was busy, always a good sign. servers were too busy to help me with my take out orders that my food was already done sitting there. I got the ceviche. it was very refreshing with pico de Gallo sauce added on top of shrimp and avocado also ordered their Cod Baja bowl. simple dish but tasted delish. the portion was generous so not only was it good, it was a bargain. basmati rice and pinto beans right under grilled cod w garlic sauce (subtle) and pico de Gallo dressing. I'd order again. chicken baja bowl. basically same thing as cod dish except the protein change. the chicken was tender n juicy. usually most places cooked the chicken dry using the mediterranean style, not this place. flavor could be stronger, however. lastly, I got filet mignon entree. u get salad, cooked tomato n onion slices, basmati rice, and steak. the taste was amazing n meat was grilled perfectly, very juicy. parking spaces were plenty. will come again for sure. read more

It's no surprise the owner Moe G. was incredibly kind and they've expanded to 3 locations. It's in a large strip mall in Placentia and we knew it was a good sign when it was pretty crowded at 11:15 on a random weekday. You order at the counter and food is brought to your table. Hummus with Flatbread: Freshly made and a nice slightly chunky consistency, we started with this and could tell we were in for a treat because every single thing on this place was delicious, even the "decorative" small salad. FOB Chicken & Sirloin Entrée: Plated in such an appetizing way and smelled so good. Every single thing on the plate went through rounds and rounds of iteration to get them this high level. Even the rice I could not stop eating. Grilled Fish Entrée: This was the more Mexican style dish and it was just as incredible as the Mediterranean one. I like this place. The name of the business is what first caught my attention, esp since I'm asian. This place is spacious. Dining indoor and outdoor patio. Located in a busy plaza by McDs. Parking is crazy during lunch time. Anyway, greeted by a young man and I asked about what's good andnhe told me everything. Ok. It's fish Friday and went for a grilled cod pita wrap/gyro. They have a Menu that includes Mexican dishes, Burgers, and of course my favorite, (Iranian/Persian style) Mediterranean food. I ordered the Ground Beef Sirloin Kabob and it came with a side salad and lots of rice, fish tortilla soup came with house made tortilla chips, and a Chicken pita wrap with a side salad (you can get it with fries instead). Sauces are good. Carnitas is good. Fish is hit or miss. And the gyro is awful. If you can go to the Tustin location the gyro is so much better. I've gotten the gyro to go a few times from both locations and the Placentia location is always terrible. My main concern is the owner and how he responds to people. Very manipulative and pulls the red herring method anytime someone gives feedback "so what if the fish tasted off I cook in healthy oils." That's just an example and you'll see that in his responses. "Who cares if customer service was bad, I'm buying quality products and know better." He avoids addressing the customer's concern. He should go into politics. read more
