I've been to Green Tomato Grill in Brea several times, and it's always a great choice when I'm craving something fresh and flavorful. Their salads are my favorite--always fresh, generously portioned, and packed with quality ingredients. I also can't recommend the pink lemonade enough! It's refreshing, perfectly balanced, and the ideal drink to pair with a salad. i've had a GTG fixation for months on uber eats but today, I was close to a location so I stopped by to dine in a late lunch. i've already tried 1/5th of the menu so I wanted something different. I got the Surf & Turf Bowl (shrimp & steak) and a side of classic Baja Tots. I place my order in, lovely cashier-- get my lil ice cup & water, cute. she brings my food over, "Let me know if the music's too loud. I had to play Sade~~" Two sauces for each item. 2 for bowl, 2 for my tots. I dump the Spicy Roja Sauce in my bowl, the avocado (sauce cup) on the side. Tots loaded and ready for dipping. I fork a jumbo shrimp, soft guitar plays in the background, I take a bite-- juicy and never rubbery. I follow it up with a bite of steak, zucchini, rice..... the spice started kicking in-- so take a bit of avocado. Chew in bliss and swallow. Spear a tot with green onion, fresno chile, and cojita cheese-- dip in baja green sauce-- chew-- fork another tot, dip in chipotle ranch-- genuine flow state^^ Peak dining experience added to my love for GTG I'm now digesting, writing this review, and debating between brookie, cookie, and snickerdoodle:] Too good to gatekeep and needs LOTS MORE LOVE especially in-store dining!! This is my second time here and I've loved both times! The food here is such a healthy alternative to fast food and pretty affordable too. The PK chimichurri bowl was very filling and big enough to share with another person. The person who took our order and served us was very sweet and even brought us an extra bowl and utensils before we even asked. The interior is so fun and pretty. Stop by on Sunday morning at 9 AM, and it was quiet. The staff was super friendly and accommodating as we were trying to decide what to get. We got the huevos rancheros and the Belgian waffle. Overall, the food was healthy and great. I didn't feel heavy after our big meal. The Belgian waffle is what I mainly ate and it was light and tasted great with the fresh fruit and chocolate chips. If you're looking for a healthy bite this is a good place to visit! I wish they offered brown rice or different carb options but you can opt out for salad instead of white rice or half and half. I ordered the teriyaki bowl and did half white rice half salad. It was very tasty. The service was quick! It was a very clean place as well! Giving a low rating due to pricing strategy. It is very misleading. I ordered a kids/small bowl and under the title it tells me to "choose protein and 2 veggies". If the bold title tells me what the kids/small bowl comes with, I am confused why am I paying an extra $2 for a chicken protein. I was told because I had to refer to another menu that gives protein pricing. But again you can't say for $7.96 you get protein and 2 veggies. It is very misleading and the menu needs updating. On to food: I order chili verde sauce and got teriyaki. The teriyaki was a bit salty for my liking but it definitely needed sauce because the rice and beans is dry. Chicken on its own was okay. I rate the bowl 3/5 Ambiance was nice and it looked very clean inside. Staff was helpful and gave options on what to pick. Sad I didn't get the chili verde. Came in to the Green Tomato Grill after church on Sunday for brunch with a group of 6. This was my first time eating here I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon as my protein. I'm not a fan of potatoes in my breakfast burritos so I requested the potatoes on the side. It was served with a creamy cilantro sauce. I added hot sauce to give it a little more kick. No mush, no sogginess, no sad and wet carbs. I absolutely love the decor. It's a little bit millennial, but it works; it gets the point across. It's kinda like a cottage-core farmhouse thing. I love the tomato mural next to the register. The name kind of reminds me of something that might be in Pretty Little Liars. Speaking of, their fried green tomatoes are to die for. I have to say that this place is a gem, semi-hidden in north Brea, located in a quiet shopping center. I am so glad that we finally tried this place. The options are quite different from the norm of your typical eateries. They have choices of soups, sandwiches, bowls, and not to mention, vegan options. We tried a bit of everything. The chimichurri chicken flatbread sandwich was to die for. A perfectly cooked slice of chicken breast with a blanket of delicious chimichurri. My wife enjoyed her chicken philly sandwich too, and my kids enjoyed their selections. (Chili Verde bowl and teriyaki chicken). The special recognition goes to the roasted chickpeas!
