I just paid $145 to be told there are no raccoons in the attic of my 1100 sq foot ranch! That's a trip charge that is way too high for me!

We have had nothing but relatively positive experiences with Humane Colorado (DDFL when we used…read morethem). We adopted our Boston Terrier, Stella, from the Buddy Center in Castle Rock back in Nov 2012 as a 11month old. She is now 13! We got so lucky as someone else was visiting her when we arrived. Back then you could put a wish list if a breed online and would be contacted if one came in to one of the shelters. Not anymore but we loved that feature. We found a stray Boston Terrier puppy a few years ago and took her to DDFL to see if so anyone lost a pet and since she bonded with us and our other Boston overnight, we asked them please please contact us if no one claims her, and a week or two later we were contacted and then had to adopt her. She is now called Beans and is about 4 years old. We sadly had to put down our 11 year old Bassethound a year prior to adopting our Beans, and took him to DDFL. The hardest thing ever to do, and he was my first pet. They were great with us, let us take a lot of time to say goodbyes. I only wish we were allowed back during the euthanasia, I really didn't like just sending him off like that. They do offer you ashes and paw prints after as well which was very nice.

Leslie A. Morton Center has been my go-to for years when finding a new pet. I have adopted many a…read morewonderful companion through them. Their counselors are knowledgable about every animal onsite. But when going through the process, especially if you see a dog or cat that you are interested in on the website, you best get there early!!! It took me several trips in order to find my newest companion. I also had to return a puppy during the selection process. I brought her home for three weeks, but she was extremely mouthy, destructive and very high energy! It broke my heart to take her back. The best thing about visiting the Center is getting to know all the animals. I know in a glance who has been there the longest and who will be adopted first. They currently have a large selection of Pit Bull Terriers, Dobermans, Mixed breed dogs and a lovely bulldog named Trixie. They all need good homes and if my home were large enough, they would all come and live with me! The down side is their first come first serve policy. It can be frustrating to see a dog on the website that you want to visit, then watch them being adopted when you get there to visit them. There are many lovely animals there that need good homes. Show up early, visit with your potential new companion and enjoy the experience!

WE ARE SO FURIOUS!! AN ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE SHELTER. DO NOT RESCUE FROM HERE…read more My mom had applied to adopt a cat from this place over two weeks ago. The director said the cat she was interested in wasn't up for adoption yet and she would have to wait. After many days of my mom calling and talking to the lady she basically said that the cat was already hers she just had to wait for him to be available. Today my mom called the shelter again and the director said THAT THEY GAVE THE CAT AWAY!!!! my mom was so devastated. We just lost our family dog and she was so excited and looking forward to getting a new cat. The director said it was because they had heard my mom say she was going to make it an outdoor cat, WHICH IS COMPLETELY FALSE. first, my mom would never do that. She specifically wants a cuddly indoor kitty as a companion, second the shelter specifically said she cant have an outdoor cat and my mom agreed with that part of the contract. It makes absolutely no sense. I could tell from the very beginning something was off about this rescue and I was right. I'm not sure what they're doing over there but whatever it is it's not good. We will probably be getting in contact with a lawyer. DO NOT ADOPT FROM HERE!!!

This was about 2 days before Christmas. I was contacted by one of their adoption coordinators not long after and by New Year's Day I was having a meet-and-greet with my potential kitty. Meet and greet went awesome and I signed the adoption papers that day. In less than a week I'd found my new buddy! The adoption cost ($75) covered neuter, vaccines, microchip and more. I felt great knowing I was rescuing a safe and healthy animal. His foster mom was fantastic as were all the Pawsco people I interacted with. Everyone was very helpful and responsive - it was an easy process and I would recommend them to anyone looking to adopt a pet.

The process was smooth and staff was friendly. Fast forward to 2024 and we have come back here for vet care due to their support and prices. The previous vet clinic we attended spoke to us like we should know the medical lingo and not the best patience when we had questions. If your family is ready to add some fur love, I'd recommend Maxfund! Other notes: There is plenty of street parking near the shelter and good sidewalks for a before or after appt stroll. Bring your cat in their mobile home and dogs need to be leashed upon entering. Have a PAW-some day!

I saw other cats on the website that had special needs, and felt more calm about her going to that shelter. My friend gave all the vet records and full disclosure about her health issues, too. Well, it turns out that within ONE month, they decided to euthanize her!! As my friend said, if I had known they were going to do that, I would have preferred to either find a different shelter or make other efforts to re-home her. At the very least, if we had decided that "putting her down" was in her best interest, I would have wanted to be present for her last moments.

Initially, I was just looking as I had some logistics to work out but then I met one of their new arrivals from New Mexico. Bourbon and I clicked immediately. I knew in my gut that he wouldn't be there long so I was able to take him home the same day. All of the ladies on staff were so incredibly friendly, kind and very knowledgable. Linda specifically was especially helpful. It's been almost a month and my little guy, now named Finn, is happy, settled in and is loving his new home. Thanks again to the whole group at RMFR. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

We are still caring for the two kittens and love them dearly but we would have loved if they could have been tested better and handled more properly.---- This review was back when we first got our bonded pair of kittens it's been sitting in my drafts forever, I decided to post it now bc it took a lot of money to get the kittens better not just that ALL of my cats better now. I still have the kittens they are better than ever and have the best personalities but I will never be returning to this place just bc of what I said I still have older cats at home and they should have been sure the kittens were healthy before sending them out but they didn't. I don't respect this place at all, They keep sending my mother emails to send in photos of the cats but that will never happen, first off you gave us two unhealthy kitties it's not the cats fault it's yours, be better at managing the cats and getting rid of their sicknesses. I won't be sending you guys any photos because yall don't deserve them first off they are mine now and I take care of them unlike yall did when you had them, they are now in a safe and loving home.
